Reflections on My Tribute to Auntie Karma

This morning I was feeling some-kinda-way. Yearning for something to write about; some Heart-filling story... so I grabbed this weeks Washington Informer and poked around it for a while {and found some insightful trinkets of information regarding several community issues/movements} my Heart was pleased. I finished my java and got stuck-in-thought with all the mess our state-of-affairs are rendering us. Then I thought about the Laws of Attraction, Social+Emotional Intel and Character-based Leadership. My understanding of Karma relates to my impressions and roles regarding Mothers and their Sisters. I grew up without any aunts, uncles, or first-cousins. Neither of my parents have siblings. So I delight in the Auntie relationship. I AM the youngest of 9 so I have a slew of Nieces and Nephews. And a good portion of them are already grown so Im pleasured with being great-Auntie. Sometimes I wonder if I had aunts and uncles would my childhood had been as abrasive as it was...yeah, I wonder...

Glory-to-The Heavens!!...for NEW LIFE...with this newness; Im able to witness symbolicconnections, metaphoric referencing and a natural-eye for the behind-the-scenes type stuff. I SO often play around with such power and invite my Imagination and Creativity to join me and our special-guest; Wisdom and during my quiet time we dance. This mornings dance took my thoughts to places Id never been. And while we danced; I reflected on the notions and emotions I underwent reading about the Woodson House Restoration project and learning about the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH). Then we danced some more.

Reflections on My Tribute to Auntie Karma

I remember seeing a clip on FB of this flow-full Gentleman stepping with (2) even more flow-full women. He was handsomely polished and they were in eloquent light/mint-green outfits; that were pants, but flowed like dresses {fit for the lovely days when Maya Angelou took the stage to perform}. It was something out of a fairytale. My human-Dad loves to step too...hes quite the dancer. I love watching him hit the dance floor {SIDEBAR: I need to get out and physically dance more!} Thats just how it was this morning with my thoughts, my Creativity, and Lady Wisdom. After we finished dancing...Curiosity stopped by with several questions; and more thought-provoking(s) and urgings began to reveal themselves. For starters...I know beyond a shadow of a doubt...that our state-of-affairs are in a nasty disarray because Auntie Karma expects greater efforts from us to restore Mother Earth and her UrbanCity heirlooms. PREFACE: Dont shoot the messenger! Spoken on behalf of Karma and endorsed by Mother Nature, Wisdom, my Imagination, Creativity and Curiosity. MESSAGE: Less Waste!...More Greenery-&-Gardens!...Stop building shit all-over Mother Earth...take care of the freakn buildings you already have up...weighing her soft delicate, rich soil to death!...start tearing the life-less structures down (the ones you have no intensions on restoring)...its sucking her Life!!!!...Oh, and do more LOVEn, LEARNn, LOUNGEn TOGETHER!! With that message; I received the notion: ALL HANDS ON DECK!...its time for the key-players directly related to the jump-starting of restoring Sir Carter G. Woodsons home to get-on-it! it is imperative that YOU BAND TOGETHER, PULL ALL RESOURCES! By not doing so is to continue pumping toxins into Mother Earth. Karma is demanding retribution for the sake of her Sisters soil AND the living-legacy of C.G. Woodson. The funds that was disbursed for restoration seriously need to find its way into the appropriate hands so that this process continues and healing takes place. Several community Influencers and Tribal-Leaders were mentioned in the article...I have just one question for them...Assuming all-hand-on-deck, what would it take?...if all parties involved begin to take this light-assumption thru the suggested paradigm, then maybe Resolution will stop-by with some goodies and this process can resume and flow nicely into completion...just maybe. My closing impression is...there should be ABSOLUTELY no reason why the Woodson Place should not become top-priority and seen-thru to its pristine restoration and occupancy.

Reflections on My Tribute to Auntie Karma

One things for sure...is that this portion of the Nation is full of BraveHearts, UrbanKnights, and neighborlyLOVE. The legacy of Sir Carter G. Woodson is at stake! And in desperate need of reinforcements. With that said, Im posing a call-&-challenge to all those {individuals and organizations} in support of Woodson Place as being one of our stronger STEMs in Urban History...that we show-up to preserve the delicate conception and birth of our official Black History. It should never have to stand in ruin would you adopt this as a leading objective? For the sake of one of DCs finest heirlooms would you-&-your Crew; please join-forces to restore it? And {please} be led by your Heart. The triumph of this movement can only be lead from-the-Heart...not our pocket. Anyone...Everyone who has access to the skills/network/tools/materials needed to restore this Urban Legacy...please get in-touch with (ASALH). The Association for the Study of African American Life and History {Howard Center} 2225 Georgia Ave. NW #331 | Washington, DC 20059 (202) 238-5910 BECAUSE SURELY IT TAKES A VILLAGE!!...the willingness to contribute or connect those who can contribute is such a monumental-experience!...And with all sorts of promises to be more-than-enough to overfill You. And trust me, thats wayyyy more than $$ could ever do in a situation such as this one. Besides...something tells me that if this kind of LOVE can be generated; that Karma will be pleased and extend her smile upon us. IJS....
