March, 2014 To Whom It May Concern, Ms. Clark successfully completed her student teaching experience at Howe Elementary in Des
Moines, IA. She spent 7 weeks observing, assisting, and teaching in my Kindergarten class. I served as her cooperating teacher. Howe Elementary serves a diverse student population which offers a challenge to even experienced teachers. Ms. Clarks has a positive warm personality and excellent rapport with the students. Her willingness to take suggestions, modify lessons, and experiment with new strategies demonstrated her motivation and reflection about teaching and learning. She is able to communicate effectively and displays

many fine personal and professional qualities. I am impressed with her strength in relating to the students. She performed all of her teaching duties in a responsible and dependable manner and asked to participate in before and after-school activities and teacher events. She plans lessons well and is sensitive to the needs of the students. Because of her creativity and enthusiasm for the teaching, students respond positively to her. Her ability to manage a daily routine and the classroom discipline that relates to that are exemplary. Her growth in all areas was apparent from the first week to the end.

In my opinion, Ms. Clark is an excellent candidate for your school. She has tremendous initiative and a desire to continue to learn. I would strongly encourage you to interview and to give serious consideration to this prospective teacher. She would be an asset to any school. Sincerely, Donna Lauritsen
