Driving Towards ... Winona Area Community Assessment Use your voice and take a survey to make Winona better! This is your chance to let decision-makers know about what you think about the quality of life in our community. Go to winonahealth.org and take this confidential survey online.

As we move into the fall with a push from the briskness of cool weather, we get ready to move more than ever…. on four wheels! Coming soon (early November), Watkins Manor will be introducing our new transportation service. Scheduled to run full days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, Watkins Manor residents will have more transportation options than ever. While the transportation will be limited to within the radius of Winona, we feel that this service will be well received by our residents. The need for increased transportation options was communicated heavily in our past two annual resident satisfaction surveys. Listening to wants and needs of our residents is crucial to customer satisfaction and we are happy to embrace the change necessary to increase and maintain our customer satisfaction. We cannot wait to see who will be our first rider! Will it be you? September left us saddened with the loss of dear friends that have become family to us. We will forever miss them for the many ways that made them special and thank them for choosing to share their lives with us.

Flu Prevention
The steps below also will help prevent the spread of both the seasonal and H1N1 flu: • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, throwing the used tissue in a wastebasket. • If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into a shirt sleeve. • Wash your hands often with soap and water or use alcoholbased hand cleaners. • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. • Whenever possible, avoid contact with sick people.

Ernie and his beloved wife, who passed away in 2007, had three children: Arthur, Larry and Mari. He is blessed with seven grandchildren. When there is any construction going on outside, or maintenance men working in the house, Ernie can be found observing with a watchful eye. Sometimes he even has a suggestion, or two.
