Intro&# tion -orthlin3 &e"hnolo4i"al Institute %-&I) is a ne5ly established te"hni"al. vo"ational s"hool in #anabo City. &he s"hool6s operation started on June '((1 5ith $78 initial student enrollees 5ho are divided into t5o "ourses, the Information and Communi"ation &e"hnolo4y and /otel and Restaurant Servi"es. 9ith su"h number of students, the s"hool is supervised by fe5 administrative staff and fa"ulty. &he s"hool is not fully developed in terms of information system. -&I is still a youn4 establishment, but to provide its "lients, 5ho are the students, a better servi"e and satisfa"tion, the s"hool administration and staff are implementin4 a system on enrollment. &he enrollment system 5as done manually. Meanin4, the pro"esses are done by manually, but there is also data stora4e on the "omputer. &he student data re"ords, sub!e"t enrolled and assessment pro"eedin4s 5hi"h are stored on the "omputer "an also be retrieved 5hen needed. Spe"ial fun"tions in Mi"rosoft +x"el Spreadsheet 5ere utili<ed to easily re4istered students on their respe"tive "ourses and "lasses. +x"el mathemati"al fun"tions 5ere also used to automati"ally "ompute for the Student Assessment Fees. )"t" &he follo5in4 data 5ere needed to transa"t the re4istration of the students: Student ID -umber Student -ame, Middle Initial and Surname Address of the Student Student A4e *ender Conta"t Details ,ast S"hool Attended Course Sub!e"t +nrolled #ayment ;pon +nrollment

Pro esses $. &he student 5ill pass needed enrolment re uirements to the re4istration offi"er. '. If the re uirements 5ere "omplete, the re4istration offi"er 5ill let the fill.up the Re4istration Form providin4 hisAher "omplete name, address, a4e, 4ender, "onta"t details and the "ourse to be ta3en. &he re4istration offi"er also 5ill 4uide the students in listin4 the sub!e"ts that heAshe must enroll. ?. &he filled.up form 5ill be "he"3ed and verified by the re4istration offi"er. &he re4istration offi"er 5ill 4ive the student ID number and re"ord hisAher data on the "omputer.

B. &he student 5ill brin4 the verified form to the Cashier to pay for the enrollment do5n payment. 8. &he student 5ill pro"eed to the Re4istrar 0ffi"e for the en"odin4 of sub!e"ts. &he pro"essin4 offi"er 5ill released the 0ffi"ial Re4istration Form of the student 5hi"h has the "omputeri<ed s"hedule of sub!e"ts and assessment details. A "lass "ard 5ill also be provided to the students. Peo'le &he people 5ho intera"t 5ith the system in"lude the follo5in4: Students. Students are the dire"t "lients of the s"hool. &hey are "onsidered as external user of the "urrent information system. Registrar. &he re4istrar is the one that handles re"ords of the student. Cashier. &he "ashier 5ill be the one to re"eive the student payments. Student Accounts Officer. &he SA offi"er 5ill need the student re"ords, parti"ularly the number of units enrolled and the do5n payment. &hey are the one that "omputes the student assessment of fees.

Con l#sion &he "urrent information system adapted by -orthlin3 &e"hnolo4i"al Institute is still pra"ti"al for the number of students they are "aterin4. =ut, this is system 5ould not be "onvenient for the people 5ho uses it 5hen the number of student in"reases. &he follo5in4 problems 5ill be observed if the number of student in"reases: &he people 5ho are dire"tly usin4 the system 5ill follo5 a very lon4 pro"ess of enrollment. &he database of the student re"ords 5ill be very diffi"ult to handle. &he number of students per "lass 5ill not be easily "ontrolled. &he student list per sub!e"t 5hi"h is very important for the fa"ulty 5ill be diffi"ult to retrieve.
