Use the Internet to research the code of ethical conduct of one (1) of the following organizations: AT&T Hershey Company Coca-Cola Chevron Next, use the Internet to research the code of ethical conduct of two (2) similar companies in the same industry as the company you have chosen.

Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you: Specify, in brief, the nature, structure, types of products or service of the business you selected. Examine the information within the companys code of ethical conduct, and choose three (3) key issues from within the document that you believe are critical for success. Provide a rationale for the response. Using the three (3) key issues you selected as a benchmark, compare and contrast the codes of conduct of two (2) similar companies within the same industry as your chosen company. Examine the extent to which the two (2) similar companies you researched have addressed the key issues you selected. Hypothesize two (2) potential positive outcomes for each company if each addresses the key issues in question and two (2) potential adverse effects if each company fails to address these issues. Propose two (2) techniques that the original company you selected could use in order to ensure that its code of conduct will remain relevant through years of changing economic, political, social, cultural, and technological forces on business and society. Next, evaluate the effectiveness of two (2) methods that the company currently adopts in order to manage environment issues. Examine two (2) approaches that the original company you selected has taken in order to embrace technological advancements for innovation and thus improve business offerings. Anticipate three (3) potential technological challenges the company could face, and recommend one (1) strategy that the company could use in order to eliminate or minimize each of these anticipated challenges. Specify at least one (1) one lobbying strategy that the original company you selected has used in an effort to influence national or local government decisions in its favor. Summarize the issue in question, and ascertain whether or not the lobbying effort was appropriate. Justify the response. Analyze two (2) global corporate citizenship efforts of the original company you selected, and assess the extent to which these efforts are effective in accomplishing the companys goals. Examine the manner in which the two (2) global citizenship efforts could contribute significantly to the companys sustainable development goals. Use at least four (4) quality references. In recent times, global business environment created challenges of the companies,

so they are assigned to unethical business practices. This paper discusses the code of ethical conduct of CocaCola and issues faced by the

company regarding the ethics.

Organizational Profile
Coca-Cola is manufacturing, distributing and

selling a carbonated soft drink through restaurants, stores and vending machines in all over the world. Coca-Cola is one of the worlds

largest manufacturers and distributors of beverage products as it runs their business in around 200 countries and selling average more than 2 billion

beverages each day. The company provides beverage items or carbonated soft drink in cans and bottles, and sells them to retail stores, restaurants

chains and vending machines (THE COCACOLA COMPANY, 2013). (Source: Kawabe, 2013).

established code of ethics and standards of corporate governance. The company reviews its system on regular basis to maintain

transparency and accountability in their business practices and accomplished international standards. The code of ethics is the part of Coca-

Cola Code of Business Conduct through this the company maintain honesty and integrity in all matters (Pendergrast, 2013). The

company follows the code of ethics and code of business conduct in its workplace and larger community. The company faced the issued related to

code of ethical conduct that impact on its success. The company faced high competition in its competitor in the global market that assigned

Coca-Cola to unethical business practices such as stiff competition among businesses and failure to cover technology advancements. The main other

issue is related to employees supporting policies such as training activities and not proper reuse and recycle of waste or bottles issues impacts on its

success in the global market (THE COCACOLA COMPANY, 2013). The company would not properly supported

employees, conflict of interest of stakeholders or customers, lack of cover technology advancements and lack of reuse and recycle of waste or bottles issues

found from its document that would impact its success.

Compare and Contrast the Codes of

Conduct of Companies
The main competitor of the Coca-Cola is PepsiCo that also produces and selling carbonated

soft drink or other beverages products in the worldwide. The company also faced the three issues related to ethical code of conduct as

conflicts of interest of stakeholders, lack of cover technology advancements, lack of reuse and recycle of waste or

bottles with its Code of Conduct. Code of Ethics 4 These three issues found from its document related to ethical code of conduct that would

impact its success. At the same time, the company would not considered the interest of stakeholders as low focused on the health of

customers during manufacturing soft drink or beverage products that is similar code of conduct of both companies (Kawabe, 2013). The both

companies deliver similar products in the market, so both are faced similar ethical code of conduct issue related to lack of interest of stakeholders. The

both companies delivered its products in the bottles and cans and lack of recycle and reuse of wastage of them impacts on the environment

sustainability aspects that are also same weakness of their business code of conduct. Moreover, high consumptions of carbonated soft

drink are negatively impacts on the health of consumer that indicates the both company has not properly concerned the interest of

the both companies faced the lack of cover technology advancements issues related to code of ethics that impacted on its success in the

market. Moreover, due to lack of cover technology advancements the both companies wastages of materials and bottles are higher that increased its

cost of products is higher and affect its profit (Lamb, Hair & McDaniel, 2013). If the companies failed to address these issued they would not able for

maintain their position in the international market because it is created negative image of the companies among the people.

Techniques to Resolve these Issues

The both companies faced the similar issues related to code of conduct and

environment sustainability aspects of the business. CocaCola and Pepsi should adopt the latest technology to manufacture and deliver its

beverage or soft drinks products that help them to reduce the wastages of materials and brokerages of bottles during manufacturing and

logistics process. At the same time, through adopt latest technology it also able to save energy and require less resources or materials that protect the

environment and contribute to resolve environment sustainability aspects (Lewis, 2010). In addition, Coca-Cola should be also use waste

management techniques to reuse and recycle of products, bottles and cans through applied latest technology to contribute in

protect the environment.

Potential Technological Challenges Face by Company

Coco-Cola is faced the three potential challenges related to technology such as failure to embrace technology advancements in production that

create water scarcity, applied of technology in supply chain and application of latest technology in waste management. These

be applied the latest technology during manufacturing process to reduce wastage of water and material that is effective of it to manage

technological or environmental issues (Ray & Jain, 2011). In addition, application of latest technology of waste management

would also be effective of the company to resolve environmental and technological issues.

Selection of Lobbying Strategy

Coca-Cola should be used the interest groups follow lobbying strategy to

influence national or local government decisions in its favor. The company should be remembered that the most of the politicians are

busy and that it may difficult to draft motions or statement of legislation. The company should be used lobbing strategy of interest groups through

consider the interest of all people to effectively accomplishing the companys goals . In the context of the lobbying strategy,

a nations political environment influences strategies accepted by interest groups (Thomas, 2014). At the same time, the company should be applied

lobbying strategy of interest groups through focused on interest of all group or communities. Moreover, through considered the interest of groups
