FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Community Members, South Salem High School values integrity, high academic standards, respect for self and others, and positive involvement in school, community, and the world. Rich in traditions, we have been nationally recognized as a school of excellence. This year our school rated 3 on a scale of 5. We celebrate an increasingly diverse student body, while maintaining high expectations for all.  More students than ever are staying academically engaged at South. Academic Highlights: 90% of our students met/exceeded state reading standards

72% of our students met/exceeded state math standards A strong International Baccalaureate program We continue our focus on writing this year as we implement the Common Core State Standards. We will employ writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading to learn in all of our classes.  You can help by monitoring your child’s homework and attendance, volunteering and engaging in activities, like conferences, happening at South Salem High School.
