Literacy Volunteers of Quebec
Literacy Volunteers of Quebec started a monthly writing challenge for students. Students are asked to write between 100400 words on a given topic each month. All names are then entered in the contest with the winner’s name drawn from a hat. The prize is a $25 gift certificate to Chapters. To enter, send your submission to Joani by e-mail at info@literacyvoluntee rsqc.ca, or by fax at (450) 243-6812. LVQ Conference Saturday October 24, 2009. Everyone is invited to join in the festivities. Register through Karen or online (see site below).

2009-2010 This first decade of the new millennium is about to change and The Learning Exchange is zooming right along. I look forward to an active and productive new decade. This season is jam packed with many activities to suit each and everyone. I thank you all for your continued support in learning. We are now in the process of recruiting new community members for the Sir Wilfrid Laurier Laval Governing Board. We have set the first meeting for Wednesday, October 14 at 4:30 p.m. at CDC Vimont. Want to download units of the QLWG Skills for Life Series for your adult learners? Our units are now available on line Skills for Life Goes Virtual! The Quebec Literacy Working Group is currently in the process of converting our QLWG Skills for Life Series units to an e-learning format. The process is a costly one and we have only received funding to convert the first 14 (of 30) units. We are currently await-
