THE WEEK AHEAD

Children’s Christmas Party Donations: If you would like to help with this ministry, please place a
donation in a blue envelope, write your name along with “Children’s Christmas” on it and place it in
the offering plate. This is a way we can help the less fortunate in our community.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT SCHEDULE

5:00 p.m. Fellowship Meal in the Fellowship Hall
5:45 p.m. Children’s Choirs (Choir Room and Children’s Area)
6:15 p.m. Adult Prayer Service (Membership Meetings scheduled on second Wednesday)
6:30 p.m. TeamKid Groups and Youth Bible Study Sessions
7:15 p.m. Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal in the Choir Room

NOTE: We will observe a different schedule this coming Wednesday, due to our Trunk ‘R’ Treat event. Our
meal will be sponsored by our youth and will begin at 6:00 with a chili supper. The trunk ‘R’ treat events will
begin at 7:00 p.m. NO OTHER REGULARLY SCHEDULED EVENTS WILL TAKE PLACE. Everything will
resume with our regular schedule the following week.

Sunday School Representatives Meeting: All Sunday School Representatives will

meet in the Choir Room on Sunday, November 1st from 9:45 – 10:05. Please make every effort to be
at this meeting. We need to finalize a couple of items from our last meeting. Thank you for your
willingness to serve in this capacity.
Stewardship Committee Meeting: The Stewardship Committee will meet next Tuesday, October
27th at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Worship KidStyle: Keep in mind that children’s worship is ongoing each Sunday morning during our
10:45 worship service. The children will meet their leaders at the designated time in the worship
service. The worship time is designed for children ages four through grade 2.

*There will be a community-wide fellowship after the service in their fellowship hall. We plan to receive a
community offering for this event. Please pray about your financial gift for our CCMF fund. This money helps
many individuals throughout the year and any donations are very much appreciated.

Things of Interest

• Work has almost been completed on the roof repair around the church steeple. We had a
substantial leak that was running down the front doors causing swelling of the wood. Due to a
generous anonymous donor by a couple of our members, new doors will be installed soon to
the front of our church, along with lights on either side of the doors. Visibility should be much
better at night and the entrance to our building will be greatly enhanced.

• The activities building (gym) is being inspected for black mold because of water leakage
damage to the roof. Our Building and Grounds committee is working very hard to keep this
and other areas of our buildings up to par. Pray for their efforts as they work to provide a safe
and secure environment for our members.

• The community choir rehearsal for the Thanksgiving service will be held at the Methodist
Church on Sunday, November 15, at 4:00 p.m. You are invited to come and sing with the
choir, even if you don’t already sing in our Sanctuary Choir. We would love to have you in our
community choir for that service. The actual service for the community will be held on Sunday,
November 22 at 6:00 p.m. with a fellowship afterwards. There will be an offering taken at the
service that evening.

• The Community Christmas Celebration will be held at the Kenneth Shadowen Performing
Arts Center on Sunday, December 6th, at 2:30 p.m. The program will feature a variety of
musical selections by various groups in our area. Some include a community choir, children’s
chorus from Paducah, instrumental ensemble from FBC Benton, a children’s theatre group,
and the singing of the “Hallelujah Chorus” at the close of the program.
