Remove mounting screws to remove door lock assembly. Disconnect inside handle rod (on the door lock assembly). Remove door lock actuator mounting bolts to disconnect the connector. PIIA0420E 6. Gently close the door to confirm correct positioning and tighten mounting bolts. pull upper roller downward out of the cutout to disengage sliding door. replace or grease. Remove sealing screen. Place shop cloth or the like on the jack plate to protect the door and body from damage. INSPECTION Check the following. Remove sliding door finisher. Refer to EI-19. apply body grease. pull out rear roller assembly toward rear of the vehicle. Then. NOTE: During removal of the sliding door assembly. G Check rollers and bearings for wear and damage. NOTE: If sealing screen is reused. use a jack to support the door. Move sliding door back and forth so that upper roller assembly comes into the cutout on sliding door upper rail. INSTALLATION Install in the reverse order of removal. 2. — C 6. If required. — B 5. After installing rear guide rail assembly.

Remove sealing screen. Refer to EI-19. 2. NOTE: If sealing screen is reused. 3. "DOOR FINISHER" . Remove handle rod (on outside handle side) and key cylinder rod (on key cylinder side).

Remove sliding door lock control assembly mounting bolts to remove door lock control assembly. Pull the actuator straight down to separate it from door lock assembly. and check that it engages securely. 1. Move the knob lever and the actuator pivot toward the lock-on direction.SLIDING DOOR LOCK 5. M BL-27 . Align actuator pivot with the door lock assembly knob lever cutout. Remove bolts mounting door outside handle to remove door outside handle and key cylinder. A B C PIIA0463E D 7. 2. Remove door lock mounting bolts to remove door lock assembly. After installing striker. loosen hinge mounting nuts on the back door and close it. check lateral clearance and clearance to rear bumper again. Make lateral clearance and clearance to rear window glass equal. 2. With striker removed. remove headliner and loosen the hinge mounting nuts on the vehicle for further adjustment.BACK DOOR BACK DOOR Fitting Adjustment for Back Door PFP:90100 EIS0017S PIIA0468E VERTICAL/LATERAL CLEARANCE (SURFACE DIFFERENCE) ADJUSTMENT 1. 3. PIIA0485E BL-28 . Open back door to tighten mounting bolts to specified torque. 4. If taking the steps above does not result in fine adjustment.

"BACK DOOR TRIM" . 2. and remove back door stay (gas stay) upper. Remove hinge mount nuts on the back door and remove back door assembly. cut butyl tape in a way that leaves it on the sealing screen. Disconnect connectors in the back door and unclamp the harness. Pull the harness out of the back door. Refer to EI-21. Remove sealing screen. 4. BL-29 . K L 3. 5. Align the seam of the weatherstrip with the center of the striker. Check hinges for the following items: · Unusual noise or door closing and opening effort · Component wear or damage Apply body grease to the rotating part of the hinge. BL-30 . After installing.BACK DOOR INSPECTION 1. 2. NOTE: Make sure the weatherstrip is fit tightly at each corner and back door rear plate. 4. "BACK DOOR TRIM" . G Install back door lock rod by turning the rod holder until the rod snaps in the holder with a clicking sound. G After the installation. Refer to EI-21. Remove mounting bolts to remove door lock control assembly. "BACK DOOR OUTER FINISHER" . cut butyl tape in a way that leaves it on the sealing screen. Remove back door lock rod (on door lock control section). 2. apply body grease. check for proper operation. BACK DOOR HANDLE AND KEY CYLINDER For installation and removal of back door handle and back door key cylinder. NOTE: If sealing screen is reused. 5. Disconnect door lock actuator connector. Remove back door trim. BL-31 . G If greasing condition in each sliding section on door lock control assembly is poor.
