REPA 20140416 Policy Changes (Steering Committee) Action Changes Made in Disciplinary Policy - Violations of the SU Code of Conduct: Advisor Robison spoke to the disciplinary probation rules, if a student is in conflict with the rules, they cannot serve on SGSU. - The rules would state that if an officer is placed on disciplinary probation, and the EVP or Steering becomes aware of it, they will treat the violation as a third strike, should this point and others be included? We decided to remove this section of the policy. - Explicitly outlines what happens when the executive VP gets a strike Representative Goetze moves to vote on each policy separately Representative Bayuga Graff seconds the motion The motion passes by majority 7-4 with Representatives Ortiz, Gallo, Huey, and Davalos voting in opposition and Representatives Almunif and James in absentia Executive VP Barnes seeks a motion to approve the disciplinary policy Representative Davalos moves the motion Representative Dickerson seconds the motion The motion passes unanimously with absentia from Representatives James and Almunif Changes Made in Events Policy - Attempting to curb the popular events, increase attendance at the smaller events by the creation of “starred events” - The star is based on criteria including if the event is a tradition, there is a cost for attendance, or a large number of students is expected to be in attendance - There was some discussion of what examples of starred events will or would be and if a list of said events should be included in the policy Executive VP Barnes requests a motion to approve the Events List Policy as it is Representative Oritz moves the motion Representative Davalos seconds the motion The motion passes10-1 with Representative Goetze opposing and with absentia from Representatives James and Almunif REPA 20140416 Events List (Owen Goetze) Addition of Advocacy Training - Open to faculty, staff, and students - Helps participants develop a shared understanding of advocacy, good for students on student government to learn Representative Bayuga Graff moves to add the Spring Quarter Advocacy Training to the Spring Quarter Events List Representative Dickerson seconds the motion The motion passes unanimously with absentia from Representatives James and Almunif REPA 20140416 Appropriations Request (Appropriations Committee) Action Appropriations Update
