Advanced Rapid Transit

Bombardier Transportation is supplying 48 additional

Advanced Rapid Transit (ART) MK II vehicles, bringing the
total number of vehicles in the SkyTrain fleet to 258.

The new MK II vehicles will meet the needs of the rapidly

growing ridership on the Vancouver SkyTrain rail transit
network. Featuring a dynamic exterior design, the
BOMBARDIER* SEKURFLO* onboard security surveillance
system, and a new interior seating layout, the vehicles can
operate on both the existing Expo and Millennium Lines.

Today, the mixed fleet of 150 ART MK I and 60 ART MK II

vehicles serve 33 stations on the longest driverless rapid
transit system in the world.

Since opening to revenue service in 1986 for Expo ‘86,

SkyTrain has carried over one billion passengers.
