THE BLESSED HAIR OF RASOOLULLAH ‫ﷺ‬

Some people today claim that it is Bid’at and Shirk to show respect and reverence to the Baal Mubarak of Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) !ereunder "n Sha Allah we will learn about how the Baal Mubarak became distributed and the si#nificance of showin# it respect !a$rat Anas bin Malik (Radiallahu %a’ala Anh) narrates that he once saw a barber cuttin# the blessed hair of Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and the blessed Sahaabah had formed a circle around Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and they wanted that whatever hair of Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is removed& should fall in one or the other 'ompanion’s hands and not fall on the floor (Muslim Shareef ) Subhanallah* +ook at the love and respect that the Sahaabah,e,-iraam had for Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) that they did not let even one strand of his blessed hair fall on the floor .ndoubtedly the blessed Sahaabah knew the si#nificance of the Baal Mubarak and how much respect it should be shown !a$rat Anas bin Malik (Radiallahu %a’ala Anh) narrates that Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) went from Mu$dalifa to Mina& then he stoned the /amaraat& then he performed his 0urbani and went to his home !e then called a barber and #ot him to remove his blessed hair from the ri#ht half of his blessed head !e then called !a$rat Abu %alha Ansari (Radiallahu %a’ala Anh) and #ave him the Baal Mubarak %hereafter he #ot the barber to remove the blessed hair from the left half of his blessed head and a#ain #ave it !a$rat Abu %alha (Radiallahu %a’ala Anh) and told him to distribute it amon#st the people We learn from this that it is absolutely permissible for us to keep the Baal Mubarak& show it respect and #ain blessin#s from it 1therwise Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) himself would not have ordered for the distribution of his Baal Mubarak amon#st the people Sher,e,-huda !a$rat Ali (Radiallahu %a’ala Anh) narrates that once Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) took his Baal Mubarak in his hand and said that whoever showed disrespect to even one strand of his blessed hair then /annat will become !araam upon him (/aame Sa#heer) So we learn from Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) himself that we have to show utmost respect and reverence to his sacred hair +et us now look at the blessin#s of his Baal Mubarak 1nce& !a$rat -halid bin Waleed (Radiallahu %a’ala Anh) took a small army and travelled to Syria to make /ihad a#ainst /ablah bin Aleem and his nation& but he for#ot his topi& which had the Baal Mubarak of Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)& at home When the battle commenced& one of the Roman’s chief commanders #ot killed and this an#ered /ablah !e then ordered all his armies to #ather and to attack the Muslims all at once with force and a##ression With this attack the condition of the Sahaabah,e,-iraam became very precarious& so much so that !a$rat Raafi’ bin .mar %aai (Radiallahu %a’ala Anh) told !a$rat -halid (Radiallahu %a’ala Anh) that today it seems as if it is the day that we would die !a$rat -halid (Radiallahu %a’ala Anh) a#reed with him and said that it is because he for#ot his topi with the Baal Mubarak at home Meanwhile back home that ni#ht& Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) came in the dream of !a$rat Abu .baidah (Radiallahu %a’ala Anh)& who was the commander of an army and told him&
