Assisted grade 5 students on Saturdays which went through a curriculum similar to the corresponding grade level in Korean education. Subjects taught were Korean Language Arts, social studies, mathematics, Korean history, geography and music. My task ranged from monitoring the class and guiding through inclass tasks. Analyzed student needs and current ability to conduct activities essential for scaffolding to help students. Private Tutoring Taught English to students, ranging from elementary to high school, and to adults. Instruction tasks involved: reading books and writing essays, improving communication and daily conversation skills, and preparing for exams such asTOEFL and Korean College Entrance Exam (Korean SAT). Besides the skills and knowledge intended and required by the students, empowerment was another skill that I focused on teaching to my students. 2011 2012

OTHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES Translation and Interpretation Volunteer Works Simultaneous Interpreter, Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality MBA Program (HMBA), Sookmyung Womens University (SMU). Volunteer for a special program within HMBA. Interpreter for Korean guest speakers. Increased global and cultural awareness by providing translations for foreign M.A. students. Simultaneous Interpreter and Translator, 2012 7th Global Regional Center of Expertise (RCE) Conference, Tongyeong, Korea. Interpretation and translation worktargeting foreign conference participants. An opportunity that expanded my global awareness as the conference was based on education for sustainable development and climate change. Liaison/ Community Interpreter, 14th Seoul International Youth Film Festival. Accompanied movie director, Olivia Silver, during her stay in Seoul, Korea. Volunteer Services Dasi-seogi Rebuilding Feeding Volunteer Service. Registered through Volunteer Management System (VMS). Cooperated once every month by cooking and distributing food in the homeless shelter near Sookmyung Womens University (SMU).Adapted and stregthened my community awareness within the university campus. 2012 2013 -

Member, Leadership Club Sookmyung Interpretation Volunteer (SMIV), Sookmyung Womens University (SMU). Provided opportunities for members of the SMIV club to actively participate in interpretation and translation volunteer services on and off university campus. Services included volunteering in conferences or in cultural festivals in Korea. Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Second Batch Student Council Association. Elected tostudent council, which collaboratively was in charge of event planning, scheduling of major events throughout the semester and opening and closing of the semesters.

CERTIFICATES/ AWARDS Teacher, Our Happy Memories in Learning. Contest exhibit that required students to promote their respective majors in college. As a TESL student, my exhibit involved teaching female adults traveling English. With three other TESL majors, we formed a teaching group targeting adult learners. The learner group consisted of mothers who wanted an opportunity to study in the mornings, which are the only time available for them as they have a family to care for throughout the rest of the day.
