NOTICE OF VACANCIES

The following positions are now open for application under the Communications Unit of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP). TRANSCRIPTIONS AND NEWS MONITORING OFFICER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (1) Monitor news and advertisements related to OPAPP and PAMANA, as well as peace and security issues (2) Submit monitoring reports regularly (3) Record high-profile news and transcribe content (4) Document, archive, and file all monitored news in a highly organized system (5) Write news analyses and communication briefers as needed (6) Flag flashpoints as reflected in news (7) Supervise/handle special projects and activities that may be assigned from time to time by the Unit Head and Operations Manager

QUALIFICATIONS  A graduate of a 4-year Communication course;  Preferably with 1 year work experience in the field of news/media monitoring;  Has excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills  Fresh graduates are welcome to apply!

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (1) Spearhead the conceptualization and implementation of communications plans (2) Identify and develop IEC materials and communication activities that will enable the agency to achieve its communication goals and objectives (3) Provide support to the agency in the planning and implementation of communication strategies (4) Write effective media releases (5) Supervise/handle special projects and activities as may be assigned from time to time by the Unit Head, Operations Manager, and Head Editor

QUALIFICATIONS  A graduate of a 4-year Communications course  With at least 3 years work experience in the field of development communications and advocacy work  Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills  Willing to travel, particularly in the ARMM and nearby provinces

WRITER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (1) Draft press releases, speeches, statements, messages, reports, and other communication materials (2) Cover events as assigned (3) Proofread and check accuracy of all communication materials (4) Supervise/handle special projects and activities as may be assigned from time to time by the Unit Head and Operations Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS  A graduate of a 4-year Communications course  Has at least 3 years work experience in the field of news writing  Has an excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills

SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (1) Serve as principal web strategist, designer and web editor, as well as intranet liaison for IT (2) Ensure that website content is up-to-date and is in alignment with organizational strategies, branding, and objectives (3) Implement and maintain comprehensive social media strategies increasing agency visibility (4) Take the lead in the dissemination of press releases and statements (5) Spearhead the conceptualization and implementation of strategies to increase the agency’s visibility in social media (6) Build a peace constituency in the social media through marketing campaigns (7) Monitor social media trends and recommend campaigns and strategies (8) Supervise/handle special projects and activities as may be assigned from time to time by the Unit Head and Operations Manager

QUALIFICATIONS  A graduate of a 4-year Communication Course  Has at least 3 years of work experience in the field of social media and website management  Has a strong knowledge on social media analysis tools  Has excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills  Has a strong knowledge/experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO)  Has advanced writing skills for website content, blogs, and forums for link building/popularity
