Instructions for Opening a Saeco Vienna Machine

Explanations of the components


(also applicable for Cafe Nova machines and all models of the same design, e g , Spidem!"revi, #rups $alatino, and others%

-emove the (ater tan) and ta)e off the bean container lid -emove the coffee grounds container on the left side and the drip tra* 0nscre( the t(o cross!head scre(s in the bean container In some models there ma* be an additional cover on top of the bean container funnel "his cover can onl* be removed later on 1e careful (hen reassembling as the rear scre( is longer than the one in front' Empt* the bean container using a vacuum cleaner or 2ust pour them out

-emove the "34 torx scre( under the (ater tan)

"he 8,&CO9 (ater tan) seal is located under this cover -emove the cross!head scre( in the hole under the coffee bean container "he scre(driver blade must feature a length of at least : ; cm for this Other(ise *ou cannot reach the scre( through this deep hole <hen reassembling, it is easier to scre( in this scre( before putting on the cover Other(ise it is 5uite difficult to place the scre( correctl* through the hole

No( remove the t(o cross!head scre(s in the service room under the machine cover No( the upper part of the housing is loose and can be ta)en off $ull it slightl* front(ards on the left side and in the middle such that it does not collide (ith the edge of the operating unit

No( replace the bre( group

Slightl* shift the upper part of the housing left(ards such that the safet* catch of the hot (ater )nob

becomes visible on the right side -elease the safet* catch b* means of a pointed ob2ect and pull out the )nob

-emove the cable from the holder at the bottom side and unlatch the base plate at the openings at the bottom side of the machine b* means of a flat scre(driver

On the next picture *ou can see ho( this safet* catch loo)s inside'

$lease thoroughl* clean this gap before reassembling as remaining coffee po(der or bean particles ma* cause that the carrier plate does not latch in properl* (hen pushing the plate bac) into its position' Vie( from top into the opened machine

Now pull out the tube for the water connection!
