- Teccon designs and manufactures structures using thin galvanized steel sheet
profiles (¨Light Steel Framing"), for single family houses, multiple-family
homes, schools, and other service buildings (residences, hospitals, etc.).
- For this purpose, Teccon applies a modular and pre-industrialized process, in
strict compliance with the TES and any other applicable European Standards.
- The Teccon
®
System is presented as a unique patented system in the market,
for its high self-supporting capacity, for its degree of industrialization, for how
fast it can be mounted on site, and for its high quality standards.
- The Teccon System
®
is an ¨industrial product " that can be marketed in any
international market.
- Teccon offers a top-level technical support to its customers and industrial
partners.

OUEST!ONED ABOUT 30 YEARS AGO:
- Anglo-Saxon countries are saturating their forestry production.
- The countries using mainly concrete are producing a strong impact on environment (CO2 + erosion
in the nature).
- Nost developing countries are suffering an important lack of sufficient natural resources to cover
their domestic demand for new construction.
- This is one of the sectors whose activity recorded the least technological development during the
last 2000 years. The required amount of manual work is excessive.

1 Industrialized: Reduction of the in-factory and on-site time, cost reduction, lower tolerances, control and
maintenance appropriate to the quality level, fast on-site mounting.
2 High performance: The System as a whole offers high performance and compliance with the current
Technical Building Standard.
3 Sustainable. All the materials used can be recycled. Work always in dry. No debris is left on the site.
4 Safe: Both thanks to the quality control required after factory mounting and to the designed on-site mounting
system, the risk of failures is practically non-existing.
5 Ouick and easy to be mounted by professionals, who will continue working on the site. The System arrives pre-
mounted on the site, the final mounting being standardized and repetitive. The heaviest element weighs 38 kg
(it is not necessary to use a fixed crane). On-site times can be controlled easily and exactly by the responsible
in charge.
6 Cost-effective: Compared with traditional systems, a 15¾ material cost reduction and a +0-50¾ reduction in
total construction times con be achieved. !t also brings other advantages as to logistics and financial resources
revolving, that will vary from promoter to promoter.
/ !t admits any external finishing. The Teccon System is only the skeleton of the building.

FOR THE BUILDER
- !t simplifies the construction and eliminates many of the usual site problems.
- !t grants an important reduction of the time required for building the ¨skeleton". Compared
with traditional methods and systems, depending on the project, a reduction of up to +0-50¾
in total construction time for the building may be achieved.
FOR THE PROMOTER OR TENANT
- !t substantially increases the precision of the construction process
- !t guarantees substantially higher thermal, acoustic, and fire insulation values
- !t reduces the maintenance costs of the building
- !t helps saving natural resources
- !t brings a much better quality-price relation than any other construction system

- An array of steel profiles with several previously calculated folds to
considerably increase their supporting capacity.
- !f we place such profiles every ¨x" cm, the resulting supporting effect
will be similar to that we would get from an array of hot-rolled steel or
concrete pillars.
- We get a quite uniform distribution of vertical loads.
- Thus we will need much less structural material (than for a traditional
structure) and the system will gain much flexibility (all unions are
articulated), an important factor in seismic areas.
WHAT !S THE ¨L!GHT STEEL FRAN!NG"?

EvOLUT!ON OF THE ¨L!GHT STEEL FRAN!NG" (1)
- Galvanized steel has been used for over 100 years. !nitially, it was used only as hot-rolled
steel plate.
- About 50 years ago, builders in the USA started using cold-moulded galvanized steel
sheet.
- !n parallel to the evolution of commercial buildings using steel sheet, that started about
30 years ago, alternatives to wood in single family homes are being searched for. Builders
start looking for other solutions that would be light and flexible.
- Thus, the first one-family homes built using cold-moulded steel sheet profiles could be be
seen in the USA. Simpler, cheaper and easier-to-manufacture profiles are used : the ¨C"
profiles. The idea was to make of the existing construction system using wood (vertical
structure, forgings and roofing) a construction system using steel . The builders were (and
still are) the same as those who used to make the wood constructions.
- No higher supporting performances were requested from the new steel system than from
a wooden structure.

E V O L U T I O N S . L .
- This way of building rapidly extends all over the USA and Canada, and from there
passes to Northern Europe, Australia, etc.; usually places having a large tradition in
wooden buildings.
- Professional Associations are created, which are preparing the Standards and
empiric calculation methods for standardized profiles (¨C" i ¨") at the same time.
- The Light Gauge Steel Framing (LSF) concept is born, more as a Closing System for
homes than as a System with structural requirements like any other traditional
system (self-supporting function).

Nost frequently used standardized profiles
    Advanced Construction Systems
E V O L U T I O N S . L .
- Nowadays, there are thousands of construction companies in the
USA using the ¨Light Steel Framing" (LSF) mainly in one-family, 2-
storey houses, and using standardized profiles with little supporting
capacities.
- There had been more than 15,000,000 LSF homes built all over the
world. Nore than 800,000 such homes are built yearly in the USA
and in Canada, most of them one-family houses. LSF is the most
used ¨non-conventional" construction system. !n Hawaii, /0¾ of all
newly built constructions are LSF. Similar data are true for the
American-Caribbean area.
- But this model did not have the same acceptance in Europe, where
it is growing more slowly, but is technologically more advanced.
- !n the world there are no dedicated companies with sufficient
¨industrial" capacity offering the construction of multiple-family
homes in LSF at market prices. What we find are individual
attempts, expensive and non-compliant with Standards, generally
promoted by architects and not by industrial companies with
capacity for generating a market.
- Teccon is the market leader, both as to technology and
structural features, and for its high degree of
industrialization. Furthermore, as a business model, it is
the first industrial company created specifically for a large-
scale construction of multiple-family homes and
commercial buildings.

ON-S!TE SYSTEN
- The Teccon structure can be dismantled at the end of its useful life. !ts
elements can be classified and recycled.
- !t does not put a ceiling on later construction stages of the works.
- The volume of on-site debris is reduced to close to nothing.
- Dry working (using steel sheeting)
- Extremely energy-saving
- Ouickness (mounted area: 15 m2 / person 8 day for multiple-family homes)
- A high level of quality and compliance with Standards is guaranteed, even
before starting the works (thanks to having been conceived as a certified
and industrialized system)

®
(compared with traditional construction systems)
- For the BUILDER:
- Reduction of the final material costs (currently 15¾)
- Reduction of the on-site mounting time (+0-50¾)
- A higher home-building capacity employing the same number of
people
- !ndependent of both natural resources and commercial offer in the
geographical area of action.
- For the PROMOTER:
- Higher margin
- Nore homes sold per year
- Lower financial costs
- Sustainability factor / dry construction included in the price of the
home. ¨Sustainability" starts being a Narketing variable as a Company
Trademark for Ouality and Higher Prices.
- Lower home maintenance costs, if rented
