If you are a smart, young individual and you will be the “Right Match” for our Enterprise Services Team. We are
looking for a person who could provide support and systems administration across business critical & high availability
across Solaris 10 & 11 systems.
In this role you will be responsible for providing 24x7 support in Solaris environment . Individual must work to bring
resolution to all issues and perform proactive duties. Must be able to work independently as well as with a group.
Required to escalate to vendors and provide root cause analysis and incident reports. Provide timely resolution to
break/fix issues.
The successful candidate will ideally have an excellent understanding of the Solaris Unix environment and be
experienced using the command line.
Experience in Solaris 9,10& 11(Zones, ZFS, Resource Management)in X86 & Sparc Hardware
Configuring and maintaining Solaris 10 Global zones and local zones.
Performance monitoring, tuning, finding bottlenecks
Skill in problem determination and root cause analysis
Patching servers, firmware maintenance, operating system upgrades, and maintaining software stack.
Driving issues that relate to operating system, and working with other relevantstake holders.
Automation of daily tasks with scripts Perl or shell)
Minimum of 05 years of work experience in IT with an emphasis on Solaris (8/9/10 operating systems)Server
Administration in a production environment and explicitly 03 years in Solaris.
knowledge of Redhat, RedHat clustering in added advantage
knowledge of Veritas Products such as VxVM, VxFS
Understanding of backup process, system monitoring, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and scripting for
Knowledge of HP/Oracle hardware understanding is a plus
Experience with Hardware (Oracle SPARC/x86/Dell/HP) analysis to identify break-fix and install should the need
A basic understanding of storage concepts.
Ability to configure and manage the services and applications
Knowledge of operating systems and related utilities and hardware in a multi-flavor Unix environment
Knowledge of TCP/IP and network monitoring and tools
Knowledge of technical writing principles and practices
Skill to effectively analyze and solve problems and Advanced knowledge in troubleshooting.
Skill in software installation and maintenance
Primary roll will be maintaining Solaris customer environment in a 7x24 environment
Troubleshoots server, software and hardware issues
Do patch management and software upgrades.
Controls user access and passwords
Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system
Monitors usage and performance
Trains personnel on system usage
Assists with recommending, scheduling and implementing system hardware and/or software upgrades or repairs
Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth
Other related duties assigned as needed
