1. First, we're going to choose and load a template.
Run AAA Logo 2008. The program starts into the "Template Library"
window where you can see the logo templates. Click "e!t "age" to see
more templates. #ou can browse through the library and choose a template
that communicates your business speciali$ation and message best.
%elect a template you like and click it to edit.
2. Second, we're going to enter the text of a logo
&nce the template is loaded' you can edit its elements to e!press your
brand. (diting is simple. Click any element o) the logo and open its wi$ard.
*or e!ample' select the te!t and click the "Te!t" button on the toolbar to
edit te!t properties in the wi$ard.
%elect "#our Logo Te!t" and click the "Te!t" button on the toolbar. #ou
will see the dialog below+
ow enter your own te!t and con)igure its properties. ,n our case' the te!t is
"Technical".

ow lets enter another word - "Communication" and con)igure its
properties .i) needed/.
3. Third, we're going to enter the !" address of the we#site
ow select the "logo tag line at the bottom" te!t and enter the 0RL address
o) the website. The result is below.
$. Fourth, we're going to sa%e the logo
1o *ile 2 %a3e "ro4ect and sa3e a pro4ect )or )uture editing. The pro4ect is
sa3ed in the proprietary )ormat - 5.al8.
#ou can also e!port the logo )or print or web by using "(!port Logo )or
"rint" or "(!port Logo )or 6eb" option )rom the "*ile" menu.
As you see' creating a logo )rom templates is re)reshingly easy. #ou can
create a pro)essional-looking logo in )ew clicks o) the mouse e3en i) you do
not ha3e any talent or prior e!perience in design.

Creating a logo )rom scratch

1. First, we're going to start a #lan& pro'ect
Run AAA Logo 2008. The program starts into the "Template Library"
window where you can see the logo templates. 6e do not need templates as
we want to create our own logo. "ress the "(%C" button to close the
"Template Library" and start a blank pro4ect.
2. Second, we're going to create a logo using the shapes
8e)ore you start creating a logo )rom scratch' it9s recommended to think it
o3er and make an outline o) the logo. 7y concept o) a logo is this. , want to
create three s:uare shapes like the logo o) 88C .8ritish 8roadcasting
Corporation/ and put a letter into each bo!. The letters correspond to the
name o) my company - "Technical Communication - (uropa" - TC( )or
short. 8esides , want to add a shape o) a globe to show that my company
pro3ides my ser3ices globally. 8elow the bo!es there will be my 0RL
address - www.tc(europa.com and my slogan - "6e 6rite. #ou 6in." %o'
let9s get started;
, choose &b4ect 2 ew ,mage )rom the "&b4ect" drop-down menu on the
toolbar. A "ew &b4ect" dialog bo! opens+
ow , can edit the )irst element o) my logo - the bo!. , can ad4ust its width
and height by toggling the "6idth<=eight" slider. ote all changes are
re)lected immediately on the can3as. >eep on ad4usting till you see the bo!
you need. ow , choose the color o) the bo! - solid black. , can also rotate
or )lip the bo! and e3en select a new shape )rom the "%elect %hape *rom
Library.." dialog but it9s not included in my outline and , keep these settings
as they are. Click "&>".
7y logo has three similar bo!es. , need to create two more bo!es. The
simplest way is to make a copy o) the current bo! and paste them onto the
can3as.
, choose &b4ect 2 ?uplicate &b4ect )rom the "&b4ect" drop-down menu on
the toolbar. A duplicate ob4ect is added to the can3as. , repeat this operation
again. ow , ha3e three bo!es on the can3as. , arrange them using the
mouse and the grid. The result looks like this+

3. Third, we're going to create add text to the logo
ow , should put three capital letters - T' C' ( into the bo!es.
, choose &b4ect < ew Te!t )rom the "&b4ect" drop-down menu on the
toolbar. A "ew te!t" dialog bo! opens+
, enter "T" into the "Te!t Line" )ield' ad4ust )ont si$e' choose color - solid
white and select the )ont type )rom the )ont pre3iew window on the right.
The )ont type is %* &ld Republic 8old. The letter is displayed on the
can3as. , repeat the operation until , ha3e three letters in the bo!es like
below+
$. Forth, we're going to add a new shape to the logo.
ow we add a globe to the logo as it is planned in the outline.
, browse through the "%hapes" library pre3iew on the le)t o) the work area
and in select the shape o) a globe in the )*cons, signs +) category. A)ter
ad4usting its color' gradient and e))ects and get the logo like the one in the
image below+

A logo is made up o) elements - shapes and te!t. 6hen you select an
element' you can pre3iew it in the current ob4ect pre3iew. ,t will help you to
know which element is selected so that you do not edit another ob4ect by
mistake.
To pre3iew an ob4ect' select it with a mouse click.
To duplicate an o#'ect, follow the steps #elow:
1. %elect the ob4ect you want to duplicate.
2. Choose Toolbar 2 &b4ect 2 ?uplicate &b4ect or press CTRL @ ?.
To remo%e an o#'ect, follow the steps #elow:
1. %elect the ob4ect you want to remo3e.
2. 1o Toolbar 2 &b4ect 2 Remo3e &b4ect' or press CTRL @ R.
-ring an o#'ect closer
As you add new te!t and image ob4ects to the can3as' AAA Logo assigns
each ob4ect a position in a stacking order' the order in which ob4ects o3erlap
one another on the can3as. #ou can change this order and bring a selected
ob4ect one position up in the stack.

To #ring an o#'ect closer, follow the steps #elow:
1. %elect the ob4ect you want to bring closer.
2. Choose Toolbar 2 &b4ect 2 8ring Closer' or press CTRL @ C.
Send an o#'ect farther
As you add new te!t and image ob4ects to the can3as' AAA Logo assigns
each ob4ect a position in a stacking order' the order in which ob4ects o3erlap
one another on the can3as. #ou can change this order and send a selected
ob4ect one position down in the stack.

To send an o#'ect farther, follow the steps #elow:
1. %elect the ob4ect you want to send )arther.
2. Choose Toolbar 2 &b4ect 2 %end *arther or press CTRL @ *.

As you add new te!t and image ob4ects to the can3as' AAA Logo assigns
each ob4ect a position in a stacking order' the order in which ob4ects o3erlap
one another on the can3as. #ou can change this order and bring a selected
ob4ect on top o) the stack.

To #ring an o#'ect to front, follow the steps #elow:
1. %elect the ob4ect you want to bring to )ront.
2. Choose Toolbar 2 &b4ect 2 8ring to *ront.
Send an o#'ect to #ac&ground
As you add new te!t and image ob4ects to the can3as' AAA Logo assigns
each ob4ect a position in a stacking order' the order in which ob4ects o3erlap
one another on the can3as. #ou can change this order and send a selected
ob4ect to background.

To send an o#'ect to #ac&ground, follow the steps #elow:
1. %elect the ob4ect you want to send to background.
2. Choose Toolbar 2 &b4ect 2 %end to 8ack.
Sa%e an o#'ect as a st.le template
To sa%e an o#'ect as a st.le template, follow the steps #elow:
1. %elect the ob4ect you want to sa3e as a style template.
2. Choose Toolbar 2 &b4ect 2 %a3e As %tyle Template.
3. (nter a template name in the dialog that opens and click %a3e.

To resi/e an o#'ect that is currentl. selected:
7o3e your mouse cursor o3er the current ob4ect pre3iew window' click
the le)t mouse button and drag the cursor to the le)t or right to scale
current ob4ect down or up
1ou can also do the following to resi/e:
1. 6ith the ob4ect selected' click ,mage wi$ard
2. Click the "Constrain &b4ect "roportions" checkbo!.
3. Toggle the "6idth < =eight" slider to resi$e the ob4ect.
$. Click &> to sa3e the changes.
2dd a reflection effect
,n AAA Logo 2008' you can add a re)lection e))ect to any ob4ect' be it a
te!t or image.

To add a reflection effect to a selected o#'ect, follow the steps #elow:
1. %elect the ob4ect.
2. Choose Toolbar 2 &b4ect 2 =as Re)lection to add a re)lection e))ect
To customi/e a reflection effect, follow the steps #elow:
1. %elect the ob4ect.
2. Choose Toolbar 2 (dit 2 Re)lections.
3. Toggle the sliders to ad4ust si$e' distance and brightness o) the
re)lection.
$. Click &> to sa3e the changes.
