Neighbors of Dallas Executive Airport

Neighborhood Alert!
The City of Dallas and Dallas Executive Airport have been making plans to
make upgrades to Dallas Executive Airport that may allow for larger
planes to begin landing more frequently. In addition, the city has
announced that the Commemorative Air Force will be moving its
headquarters to Dallas Executive Airport.
Call to Action!
• The Master Plan for the airport has been in the works since 2011, and was supposed to
include community input.
“We had meetings, they were confidential.”
-Mayor Mike Rawlings Apr 29, 2014
“they didn’t have to move next to the airport, and if they don’t like it, then we can just buy
them out.”
-Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins Apr 29, 2014
• The Master Plan calls for adherence to ARC D-III standards for the upgrades to the main
runway, but at the town hall presentation, we were told the airport would remain ARC
D-II. The ARC D-III standard includes planes as large as 737s.
• The city, while declining to comment on the city’s financial support for the
Commemorative Air Force move, appears to be offering a large sum of taxpayer dollars
to bring the CAF to Dallas Executive Airport.
“Eight figures.”
-Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins
