 Student Resources
IEEE offers an electronic membership option to new and renewing members who reside in
countries where the per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is US$15,000 or less, as
determined by the data published by the United Nations Secretariat and International Labor
Relations Office. Though published annually, IEEE uses a three-year average of the GDP for
each country to determine eligibility.

Below is a list of the qualifying countries where members can select the e-Membership option.

Do you reside in a country not on this list? IEEE offers other reduced dues options to members
who are unemployed, retired, or meet a minimum income threshold. Learn more about these
special circumstances.
