The Enforcers Motorcycle Club
“The Enforcers Motorcycle Club was formally established in the spring of 2001 by a group of West Palm Beach Law Enforcement Offi cers. Rosco, the clubs founder, decided to identify with the past and present enforcers of law and order, hence the name: The Enforcers MC. The Enforcers MC Inc. is a fraternal organization that extends membership to those who ride American made and cruiser style motorcycles. Individuals we accept into our brotherhood are drawn from the ranks of, but are not limited to; former, current and retired Law Enforcement and Armed Forces Personnel, Public Safety Personnel and others of good moral character who represent the best our country has to offer. Enforcers’ colors are derived from several sources. Silver represents the shield of the medieval knights and modern law enforcement who are the protectors of the weak and the enforcers of the law. Red is to remind us of the sacrifice in blood that has and is being shed by those who serve to protect the weak and our way of life. Black is the color of mourning for those who have given all in service to their brothers and fellow citizens. Our Motorcycle Club promotes a community oriented, enjoyable, friendly atmosphere which provides the opportunity to meet and ride with those who share our love of community and country while riding in a safe manner. Southwest Florida is home to several chapters of the Enforcers, MC Inc. these are: Lee County, Collier County, Charlotte Count, Sarasota County as well as DeSoto Hardee. The Lee County Chapter of The Enforcers Motorcycle Club meets on the fi rst and third Wednesday, from 6pm-8pm at Shoeless Joe’s Restaurant on Rt. 41, Crown Plaza Hotel, behind Bell Towers in Fort Myers. Please join us at Shoeless Joe’s and visit our web site at ENFORCERSMC.COM. Local chapter contact information is available at the ENFORCERSMC.COM website.”

Roadway Landscaping
to paint roads red in blood

O

ver the last few weeks, I have noticed the LeeScape project along Summerlin Road in south Fort Myers from San Carlos Boulevard to the Sanibel Causeway. At first, I thought that the billboard owners and advertisers would be upset that their messages would not be viewed by as many tourists. But as more trees were planted, I saw a problem. Trees are being planted in the mediums at the uncontrolled intersections between San Carlos and John Morris. The seven to eight trees have been planted on each side of the crossroads.

As bikers, we know all to well how difficult it is for left-turning motorists to see school buses, much less motorcycles. Now we have the added liability of a small grove of palms to immediately obstruct the view of mostly seasonal drivers. The trees don’t need to disappear completely, but must be moved away from the intersections to save lives. If these trees stay where they currently are, there will be many more close calls and crashes. Please help by contacting LeeScape at 239-533-9400 or email moorepa@leegov. com to let them know that safety must be considered when spending tax money.

Can you see the problem?

How about now?

Muscular Dystrophy Association Benefit

7th Annual Jim Perno run for MDA
Starting out the 7th Annual Jim Perno run to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) on September 6th was a little rushed for me. Of course, I showed up right at the end of the registration. Turns out that about 200 bikes showed up. Legs invited me to ride along with her group of people and we took off for Treeline and Gulf Coast Town Center. At our first stop, the people in our group were studying the directions and were not familiar with the route. With all of my travels throughout our area, I mentioned that I knew the roads. What I didn’t know was where the heck Stevie Tomato’s was on Immokalee Road. I wasn’t the only one, but we eventually found it buried within the plaza at the intersection of Collier Blvd. From there, I knew exactly where we were headed, out to The Bean at Ave Maria. After visiting the Church and museum, we headed on out to the Seminole Casino for the final stop. The casino does a great job of providing a place for a post run bash. We ran into Kris, Vive, and family of BikersPost. com. They were doing their part in covering this worthwhile event. I’ll have my patch sewn on soon. ATM
