servicing and operating requirements, we
may refuse a claim or cancel this Warranty.
We recommend that all servicing be carried
out by a Holden Dealer. These workshops are
equipped with factory-trained technicians and the
modern equipment necessary to ensure quality
service for the vehicle. When you present the
vehicle for service, please pass the appropriate
owner literature to one of the staff. Once the
service is complete, please ensure that the service
coupons have been completed and stamped. This
information will be needed in the event of a claim.
Transferring this warranty
Only you are entitled to make a claim or receive a
benefit from this warranty.
At our sole discretion, we may permit transfer
to a new owner if you sell the vehicle privately,
provided we are notified within 30 days of the
vehicle sale.
To request transfer, please contact us on

Ownwership Request Form’. You will need

warranty application.
We may cancel this warranty where you have
not fully complied with the conditions of the

To maintain cover under this warranty, you must:
1. properly use, maintain and care for the
vehicle as outlined under the heading
‘Vehicle servicing’ on page 9 of this booklet;

service and inspection records; and

statutory warranty is immediately rectified.
Making a claim
To make a claim on this warranty, you must:
1. return the vehicle to a Holden Dealer;
2. provide details of this warranty when
delivering the vehicle to the Holden
Dealer and ask the service personnel to
lodge a claim on your behalf; and
3. provide other documentation such as proof
of servicing, invoices etc, if required.
We will ask for this documentation if needed.
Important note:
There will be some instances where repairs
cannot be authorised until the vehicle has
been dismantled. In this case, we will need your
authority to dismantle the vehicle for proper
diagnosis prior to commencing any repairs.
Provided that the problem is covered by this
warranty, repairs will be authorised. In instances
where the problem is not covered by this
warranty, you will be responsible for all costs
associated with dismantling the vehicle.

Your questions answered
This section is designed to help you
more easily understand the Holden
PLUS Extended Factory Warranty
Q. How do I go about obtaining a Holden
PLUS Extended Factory Warranty service?
A: It is recommended that the Selling Holden
Dealer or another Holden Dealer provide
Holden Warranty service. The details recorded
on the Warranty application in the front of
this booklet will be required by the Dealer.
Q: What should I do if my vehicle becomes
unsafe or inoperative as a result of a
defect which is covered by the Holden
PLUS Extended Factory Warranty?
A: You should contact the nearest Holden
Dealer or Holden Customer Assistance Service
(refer to page 4 of this booklet) as soon as
possible, and arrange for that Dealer to carry
out the required Holden Warranty Service.
Q: What should I do if, in an emergency, a Holden
Factory Approved Extended Warranty service is
required and an authorised Holden Dealer is not
available to provide such service at the time?
A: If, in an emergency, a repair, replacement or
adjustment (covered by the Holden PLUS Extended
Factory Warranty) is required to enable your
vehicle to be operated safely and it is not practical
for you to go to a Holden Dealer, the service (to the
extent that it is necessary to enable your vehicle
to be operated safely) may be performed by any
other qualified mechanic or repairer. A claim for
the reasonable cost may be made through the
Holden Dealer who would normally provide you
with Holden Warranty service. You must also take
your vehicle to a Holden Dealer for inspection of
the service or for the completion of any required
Holden Warranty service, as soon as possible.
Note: During normal business hours you
should seek authorisation from your nearest
Holden Dealer or Holden Customer Assistance
Service, prior to repairs being commenced.
Q: Are damage or injury, loss of time,
inconvenience, commercial or other direct
or indirect loss covered by the Holden
PLUS Extended Factory Warranty?
A: No, these items are not covered. The
Holden Warranty only covers the repair,
replacement or adjustment of those parts of
your vehicle which are found to be defective
in materials or workmanship. No other types
of claim for compensation of any kind, even
if the same resulted from a consequence
of a defect in materials or workmanship in
your vehicle, will be recognised under the
Holden PLUS Extended Factory Warranty.
Q: Will I have to pay for maintenance
costs during the Warranty period?
A: Maintenance costs are not covered by the
Holden PLUS Extended Factory Warranty. The
Maintenance Schedules in the Owner’s Handbook
or Service Booklet (in your vehicle’s glovebox)
specify the minimum maintenance required for
your vehicle operating under normal conditions.
The Maintenance items (except where
they are required as a result of defects
in materials or workmanship) for which
you will have to pay include:
• Engine tune-up, including spark
plugs replacement.
• Replacement of all filters (including LPG
lock off filter- if fitted), engine and other
belts, hoses (including LPG hoses- if
fitted) wiper blades and clutch linings.
• Cleaning or flushing of fuel, coolant,
brake, engine, transmission,
differential, power steering, etc.
• Carbon and sludge removal.
• Maintenance servicing of emission
control system devices.
• Adding to (or replacing) lubricants.
• Adding to (or replacing) air conditioning
refrigerant.
Any necessary adjustments to drive belts,
transmission, clutch, park brake etc.
• Wheel balancing.
• Wheel alignment.
• De-busting or de-glazing of
brake linings or pads.
• Clutch lining wear or damaged clutch
components due to lining wear.
• Brake disc pad or disc wear.
• Battery recharging.
• Paint, bright metal finish and trim,
due to normal deterioration.
• Body panel adjustment.
• Door, or bonnet lock adjustments.
• Glass or channel adjustments.

of bolts, fasteners and fittings.
• Chipped glass or breakage.
• Torn or damaged floor mats or carpets.
• Normal wear and tear to trim components.
Q: Are my tyres covered by Holden
PLUS Extended Factory Warranty?
A: No. The tyres fitted to your vehicle
are not covered by the Holden PLUS
Extended Factory Warranty.
Q: Will I have to pay for any costs or
expenses in connection with the provision
of Holden Warranty service?
A: All parts and labour used in carrying out Holden
Warranty service at the premises of the servicing
Holden Dealer are free of charge. Whenever
Holden Warranty service is to be carried out by the
servicing Holden Dealer it is your responsibility
to deliver your vehicle to the servicing Holden
Dealer’s premises. If, as a result of a defect which
is covered by the Holden PLUS Extended Factory
Warranty, your vehicle cannot be driven safely
and you arrange for the nearest Holden Dealer to
carry out the required Holden Warranty service,
Holden will accept reasonable towing costs to
move your vehicle to the nearest Holden Dealer’s
premises. Before employing a towing company,
contact the nearest Holden Dealer and/or Holden
Customer Assistance Service to obtain guidance.
Q: Would my vehicle’s engine benefit from
fuel additives, oil additives or coolant
additives not marketed by Holden?
A: The use of break-in oil, tune-up compounds,
friction-reducing compounds and other
supplemental additives is not recommended;
their use will not only increase operating costs,
but may also be detrimental to the operation
of your vehicle and may affect the validity of
your Holden PLUS Extended Factory Warranty.
Only the fluids and lubricants referred to
in the Service Schedule should be used.
