Words of Wisdom from Mary Kay
At Mary Kay Cosmetics, our goal has always been to help women bring the beauty they have inside them – outside! Instead of concentrating on what’s less than perfect, we encourage them to look at the big picture – the positive qualities that make them special and unique. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard a woman worry about her close-set eyes when she should have been focusing on their gorgeous shade of blue! It’s not just coincidence that when you look past your shortcomings, others do too. Still, that doesn’t mean you can “wish” your way to an attractive appearance. Looking good takes motivation and effort. It means setting aside time to do those things that will contribute to your physical and your emotional well-being. Rule Number One: Include yourself on your list of priorities – no matter how long that list may be.
December Booking Objections
Here are common objections along with suggested dialogues you can use to overcome them. I don’t have any money to spend. “Susan, in addition to buying gifts for others, don’t you think you deserve to pamper yourself a little? Our hostess gift program allows you to earn products by holding a class or presentation to which you can invite several friends. You also can earn your favorite products by doing something we call ‘outside sales’. Would you like to know more? My relatives are coming to visit from out of town. “Great! Everyone can enjoy being together while learning skin care. Why not schedule a complimentary facial before your planned shopping excursion? What a great way to begin a fun day of shopping!”

Fun holiday message to put on your phone
There's a chill in the air and the leaves are all dropping. There's cleaning and cooking and long lines while out shopping. RELAX...breathe deep and rejoice, your shopping can be done within the sound of my voice. Let me, your Mary Kay Consultant, help you with your gift buying needs! And gift wrapping is free when you are shopping with me! So leave me your name and a number to call. And I'll give you a jingle so we can take care of that list once and for all. Now work your work and play your play and whatever you're doing have a great day!
1. Get a guest list together. Include everyone! Send your invitations two to three weeks in advance! Follow up with a phone call or e-mail reminder. Then give a small gift like a Mini Satin Hands® Hand Cream to the first 20 people who RSVP. 2. Use candles, music, festive lighting, food and pretty tablecloths. Get creative! This event can establish you as a year -round gift source for your customers. 3. Offer pre-wrapped gifts that vary from $8 to $20 and a few priced from $25 to $75. This takes the guesswork out of shopping and appeals to those who want a gift that’s ready to go. 4. Have a table for stocking stuffers! You could have several stockings laid out on a table with items already stuffed inside, like supplements or a Two-Minute Look or all products under $10. 5. Create several looks to display in the Mary Kay® Compact and Mary Kay® Compact Pro® with color products that have a special holiday look. Offer them as complete sets ready to grab and go. 6. Build on the momentum with booking incentives. Ask customers to book a class in December or January, and as a bonus, offer a small gift on the spot. 7. Hold prize drawings. Give away small product gifts throughout the open house to keep things energetic and fun. 8. Have a Virtual Makeover station with a laptop set up where you can help customers create their own color looks. 9. Don’t forget the guys! Consider displaying the limited-edition MK Men® Grooming Set and the limited-edition body and hair shampoos in Domain® and MK High Intensity™ scents. Group them with their corresponding fragrances for the perfect gift. 10.Consider showing several fragrance set options. For example, you could group a Bella Belara® Eau de Parfum with its corresponding limited-edition body lotion, a limited-edition fragrance solid compact with its corresponding limited-edition Shimmeriffic® body powder, or all four products together! This gives shoppers several price options.
Calling Husbands for gifts for wives
Hi, Bob, this is ____. You don't know me, but I'm a friend of ___'s. Actually, I'm her Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. Do you have a quick minute? I wanted to talk to you about a gift idea for Karen. Great! Bob, I always call my customers husbands to offer my gift-buying service. I keep a wish list on Karen throughout the year of Mary Kay products she wants and has mentioned shed love to receive as gifts. I don't know if you've finished shopping for her holiday gift, but I’d love to help you out by fixing a beautiful, personalized gift basket full of products I know she’ll love. I offer free gift wrapping and delivery, and absolutely guarantee all the products. If she's not 100% thrilled, I’ll exchange anything to her complete satisfaction. I can make you look really good, Bob! Tell me, is this something you might be interested in? Great!
