Contract Partner (April 2005-August 2009)
 One of four partners of established trusts and estates department

practicing in all phases of estate and trust administration and estate


planning. Primary focus of practice included advising high net-worth
individuals with sophisticated estate planning issues and implementing
various asset leveraging techniques. Aspects of practice related to
trust and estate administration concentrated on routine estate/trust
administration details, preparation of Federal and state estate tax
returns, residential real estate closings, and income tax planning for
estates, trusts, and beneficiaries. Represented clients and trustees in
various Surrogate’s Court proceedings, including contested probate and
accounting proceedings. Other responsibilities as partner included
hiring, supervising, and training of five (5) trusts and estate paralegals.

responsibility involved the administration of informal and formal
settlements of inter vivos and testamentary trusts as to which U.S.
Trust served as corporate Trustee. Duties involved the review of all
schedules of accountings, computation of commissions pursuant to
particular agreement or Trust Company’s published rates, interaction
with Trust Counsel and remainder beneficiaries in connection with
related issues. Other duties include training new officers in the
Settlement department.
