Throughout the Easter season, Grace UMC will be collecting additional designated giving
towards the North Alabama Conferences Imagine No Malaria Fund to help aid in ending
the threat of malaria around the world. All checks need to be made out to Grace UMC
and labeled as Imagine No Malaria.

New Sermon Series
During the month of May Pastor Bryan is preaching a sermon series entitled
REMINDERS: Peters Encouraging Challenge. These weeks we are exploring
the words of 1 Peter and searching for God's modern-day truth for our lives.
All are invited to make worship a priority and make every effort to be a part!

Newsletter Deadline
Articles for the June 2014 issue of our Glimpses of Grace newsletter are due
by the end of the day tomorrow, May 19

. Please consider all upcoming
events and meetings taking place in your ministry area, and submit articles
in order that we may help you promote these events.

Church Council Meeting
All Church Council members are asked to attend our upcoming meeting
scheduled for Tuesday, May 20

, at 6:30 pm. Please make every effort to
attend! There will be childcare for those who need it.

Disc Golf
All ages and skill levels are invited to join us for a fun afternoon of Disc Golf.

2014 Annual Conference
The North Alabama Annual Conference will be held June 1

Birmingham Southern College. The opening session begins at 6:30 pm on
June 1

. Our Associate Pastor, Todd Noren-Hentz, will have his credentials
officially transferred to the United Methodist Church during the Service of
Ordination, Commissioning, and Licensing on Monday, June 2

, at 7:00 pm.
All are invited to attend Annual Conference, and especially the special service
on Monday in support of Pastor Todd. For more information about Annual

Sunday School Attendance Records
Keeping accurate records of attendance for each Sunday School class plays
an important part in submitting yearly reports to our Charge Conference.
Over the last several months, class attendance has not been recorded on a
regular basis in some of the adult and childrens classes. Please help us out
by being mindful of this need, and take the few moments necessary to fill out
your class attendance books. Thank you!

Health Kits & Volunteers Needed
The UMCOR Warehouse in Decatur has a shortage of health kits and is
asking churches for donations in response to the recent storms. Instructions
for assembling these needed health kits can be found online at
www.umdisasterwarehouse.com/umcor-kits/74-health kit Please return all
completed kits to the collection bucket at the front entrance of the church.

New Banners for Hallway and Sanctuary
We are in the process of raising funds which will enable us to purchase new
banners to decorate the Sanctuary and hallways of the church. If you would
like to be a part, please place a check into the offering plate made out to the
church with Banner Fund noted in the memo line. Thank you!

Upcoming Sunday Morning Schedule Change
Grace UMC will change its Sunday morning schedule beginning June 1
st
!
On that Sunday we will begin having our Contemporary Service at 9:00
am, Sunday School at 10:05 am, and the Traditional Service at 11:00 am.
We know that fellowship and transition time between services and Sunday
School is important, so we are planning for our Contemporary Service to
end around 9:50 each week and for Sunday School to end at 10:50. Please
join us in prayer as God leads us in this exciting time in the life of
Grace UMC!

Senior Sunday
Tonight we continue to celebrate with our seniors at Spectactical Laser Tag.
We will leave at 5:00 pm this afternoon and will be back for pizza at 7:15
pm. Students are welcome to meet us at Spectactical. The cost is $15
(except seniors), and a waiver must be filled out at spectactical.net/waivers.

Wild & Crazy Kids
Wild & Crazy Kids begins on Wednesday, June 4, at 6:00 pm. Each
Wednesday night in June we will team up for theme-based games.
Students need to wear closed-toed shoes and clothes they dont mind
getting wet or dirty.

Parents Night
Sunday, June 8

, is our Parents Night We invite all youth parents, as well
as any other interested adults, to join in an MYF meeting geared especially
for them. This is a great way for parents to get a feel for what goes on at
youth meetings, and to get connected with our students and youth team.

Need for Guest Deliverers
We have a need for volunteers to make guest deliveries to our 1
st
time
worship visitors each week. Those wishing to help can choose both the
dates and the frequency they serve through an online sign-up process.

Drive-A-Thon for Providence Elementary Tomorrow
Landers McClarty Auto Dealership will be bringing various vehicles to
Providence Elementary on May 19
th
from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm for test
drives. The dealership will give Providence Elementary $10 for each
licensed driver 18 or older who makes a test drive. All proceeds will go
toward a new playground. Please consider participating in the Drive-A-
Thon as a way to help our neighbors and the children they serve.

HAP (Huntsville Assistance Program) Food Pantry Donations
During the month of May Grace UMC is collecting shelf-stable milk and
canned fruit to support the Huntsville Assistance Program. Please place
donated food items in the Food Pantry in Fellowship Hall Room #3.

VBS is Coming!
Our Children's Ministry Team is excited to announce that Vacation
Bible School will be July 13

Our Workshop of Wonders VBS will be a fun time for all!! We'll have
music, crafts, games, and other exciting activities. You may register
