PAYMENT OF THE REQUIRED FEES DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU A SPACE AT MACEWAN RESIDENCE.
APPLY EARLY AND SUBMIT ALL FEES IMMEDIATELY.

Residence rooms/suites requested after May 1, 2014 are assigned based on the date of the application and payment of the security
deposit. If the required fees are not paid upon submission of the residence application, applicants will not be able to have a room in
the residence.

How to apply to MacEwan Residence:

Step 1: Complete the residence application form AND pay the $550 fee (the $50 non-refundable application fee and the $500
security deposit).

Important:

1. Select the correct term (2014 Fall (Sept Dec), 2014/15 Fall & Winter (Sept Apr) ,2014/15 Full Year (Sept Aug) )
2. Use your myMacEwan email address, if known, on the forms,
3. Include your MacEwan student ID number, if known.

Step 2: Within five (5) business days of receipt of your application and fees you will receive an email telling you if you have a
guaranteed space in residence or whether you have been placed are on a waitlist.

Step 3: If you have a guaranteed space in residence, you will receive information (assignment package) by email in late July 2014
with your assigned suite type, move-in information and a payment form for your remaining residence fees. If you have been placed on
a waitlist, you will receive information (assignment package) by email as soon as a space is available.

IMPORTANT: You will NOT be told your apartment number, phone number, or name of your roommate until you move in.

Step 4: Submit your Payment Authorization Form by 12 pm on August 15, 2014*. Residence fee payment can be made using:

Visa or Mastercard
Wire transfer to MacEwan University account **
Money order
Bank draft
Certified cheque

* Payment Authorization forms must be submitted by August 15, 2014. However, payment of residence fees will be processed between September 3, 2014 and
September 10, 2014. Students that apply and are accepted for residence after August 15, 2014 are required to submit their Payment Authorization Form within five
(5) business days of receiving their Assignment Package and prior to their actual move in date

** Transfers cannot be made to MacEwan Residence directly. Residence Fees must be transferred to the students MacEwan University account.

All cheques, money orders and drafts must have all of the following imprinted by the bank:

Bank transit/swift number
Bank account number
Branch number
Cheque, money order or draft number

*Unacceptable method of payment and related documents received will NOT be processed and will be returned.

Important information about the MacEwan Residence application:

I. Application fee and security deposit - $550 CAN

1. Must be submitted with the residence application form.
2. Secures your room in the Residence.
3. Up to $500 will be refunded when you have fulfilled your full residence agreement.
4. If damages are found or additional cleaning is necessary, you will not receive all of your damage deposit when you move out.

STUDENTS WHO CANCEL THEIR APPLICATION TO RESIDENCE MAY LOSE ALL OR A PORTION THEIR $500
SECURITY DEPOSIT. You will only receive ALL of your deposit if you meet one of the following conditions:

1. You are not admitted to MacEwan University.
2. Your study permit has been declined.
3. You have a documented medical condition which does not allow you to study at MacEwan University. Students who wish to
submit cancellations for medical reasons must provide supporting documentation upon submission. You may send it by:

a. Email to InternationalArrivals@macewan.ca
b. Registered mail (address is above)
c. Fax to 780. 497.4508
d. Drop it off in person at MacEwan Residence (address is above).

The Residence Cancellation Form and all supporting documentation will be reviewed by Residence Services upon receipt. The
student will be informed about the decision by email from Residence Services within five (5) to seven (7) business days. All
cancellations for medical reasons must be received by September 30, 2014.

If you do not meet the conditions above, but would still like to cancel your reservation for residence before you move in, you will not
get your entire deposit back. If the cancellation form is received before the following dates, you will receive:

$400 before June 30, 2013
$200 between July 1, 2013 and August 15, 2013
No refund after August 15, 2013

III. Roommate selection:

Roommate requests will only be considered if:

1. All applicants have been guaranteed space in the residence
2. All have identical suite type preferences
3. Both applicants have written down the preferred roommates name on their individual applications.


2014-15 MacEwan Residence Application International Student

An application to residence does not constitute application to MacEwan University. To apply to a program of academic study at
MacEwan University, you must submit a separate application for admission to the Office of the Registrar. This application is only
valid for application periods that are currently open. Please refer to MacEwanResidence.ca for more information on open
application periods, the application process and residence in general.

IMPORTANT: THE APPLICATION PERIODS BELOW OPEN ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2013. APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED PRIOR TO OCTOBER 1,
2013 WILL BE CANCELLED AND THE $50 APPLICATION FEE WILL NOT BE REFUNDED TO THE APPLICANT.

International students are able to move in as of 9 am on Monday, August 18, 2014* and they must depart no later than 12
pm on Saturday, December 13, 2014*
Fall 2014 International students (staying for 4 months) are not eligible to remain in MacEwan Residence over the December
Break (December 13, 2014 January 4, 2015).

2014/15 Fall and Winter (Aug 2014 Apr 2015)
International students are able to move in as of 9 am on Monday, August 18, 2014 and they must depart no later than 12 pm
on Saturday, April 26, 2015*
International students staying for the full eight months (Fall 2014 & Winter 2015) are able to remain in their assigned space
over the December Break (December 13, 2014 January 4, 2015).

2014/15 Full Year (Aug 2014 Aug 2015)
International students are able to move in as of 9 am on Monday, August 18, 2014 and they must depart no later than 12 pm
on Saturday, August 15, 2015*
International students staying for the full year (Fall 2014, Winter 2015, and Spring/Summer 2015) are able to remain in their
assigned space over the December Break (December 13, 2014 January 4, 2015).


* MOVE IN AND DEPARTURE DATES AS OUTLINED ABOVE HAVE BEEN TENTATIVELY ESTABLISHED AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2013. AS SUCH,
THEY ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. ONCE THE MOVE IN AND MOVE OUT DATES HAVE BEEN FINALIZED, ALL ACTIVE INTERNATIONAL
APPLICANTS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL.

The non-refundable Residence Application fee of $50 and the Security Deposit payment of $500 must be included with
your Residence Application to MacEwan Residence. Residence applications received without the payment will not be
processed.

Please ensure all application information has been completed; incomplete applications may not be considered. The payment
information provided below covers the application and security deposit fees only and is not an authorization for
processing of future fees.

TERMS:

I authorize MacEwan University to charge my credit card account indicated in this document under the agreed terms.

I understand that if the cardholder information is not my own, I must have authorization signed by the cardholder before
submitting this application.

I agree to notify Residence Services of any changes in account information or termination of the authorization for authorized
payments.

Processing of payments may take up to 5 7 business days from the due date. A fee of $40 will be levied in cases of
declined credit card.

Also, in the event of a declined credit card, only payments by certified cheque or money order will be accepted thereafter.

I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that the credit card information remains current.

Authorization is VOID on expired credit card date. I understand that it is my responsibility to notify MacEwan Residence
Services of any change of card information, including expiry date.

The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act applies to MacEwan. Therefore the University is not able
to release any information related to a students account without the students written consent.
