MOVING COMFORT
Lori Jorgensen, who learned from mistakes two weeks
earlier, won the Moving Comfort Mother's Day 5000 Meter
Race at SUNY, Purchase on May 8. Lori toured the one loop
course in 18:02 and in doing so she beat Che best female
r u n n e r s i n t h e We s t c h e s t e r - P u t n a m a r e a .

put the 8 seconds that separated them at the nish. Lefes

Exactl y 300 women and gi rl s ni shed the race whi ch was

followed by Barbara Cirami from Mt. Kisco and Peg Mimno from
Br ewst er ni shi ng 12t h and 13t h r espect i vel y.
The 40-49 group saw t hree f ami l i ar wi nners i n t hat brac
ket ni sh 1, 2, 3. Susan Bl ai sdel l f r om Danbur y, Bar bar a
Mei sel from Wayne, N.J. and Wendy Shi l e from Peekski l l took
the top spots. Ethel Autorino, Montgomery, won the 50-59
age group as Cri cket Laun and Grace Tagl i amonte, represent
ing Chappaqua and Peekskill respectively rounded out that
decade. An i nt er est i ng not e i n t he 60 pl us age gr oup. The
winner, Suzanne Dettmer was no surprise as she regularly
wins the age group. What was pleasing was her overall nish.
