Intronis & ConnectWise


The integration of Intronis Online Backup + Recovery into the ConnectWise platform provides MSPs
with a powerful tool for protecting their clients’ data while automating customer usage and billing
procedures. MSPs can easily access multiple points of customer data, including storage usage,
backup statistics, billing information, and other services in a single, unified application.

This integrated solution gives MSPs the kind of information they need to eliminate manual billing
processes, speed up cash flows, and run their operations more efficiently and cost-effectively.
Regardless of the size of their operation or number of accounts they manage, MSPs will find the
Intronis/ConnectWise integration a valuable management tool for their business.

ConnectWise Implementation
The ConnectWise integration enables MSPs to receive daily updates from Intronis for configured
accounts in ConnectWise. Data sent to ConnectWise is on an individual computer level and includes:

• Storage Usage (GB)

• Last Backup

• Number of Successful Backups

The instructions below outline the steps necessary to configure ConnectWise to receive data from
Intronis. After completing the configuration, you will be required to provide Intronis with the
credentials created in order to access your ConnectWise account.

Setting up ConnectWise
Each section below contains screen shots for configuring the setup tables and an account to receive
data from Intronis. The data contained in the screen shots may appear different than the data in
your application as each ConnectWise system is custom to each MSP. Prior working knowledge of
ConnectWise is assumed in the following steps.

Add a New Entry to the “Integrator’s Login” Table

Enter a Username and Password. Please note that you will need to provide this information to
Intronis.

Select Access Level as “All Records” and select only the “Managed Services API”. Select Save.

Add a New Product


Navigate to Setup -> Products -> New Item

Enter an Item ID of “IntronisOnlineBackup”, enter a Description of “Intronis Online Backup and


Recovery”, select a Category of “Managed Services”, select a Product Type of “Fixed Cost Services”,
select a Product Class of “Non-Inventory”, and a Unit of Measure of “Month”.

Configuring a Company with


Intronis Online Backup
Navigate to a Company in ConnectWise that is using Intronis Online Backup.

The following steps will configure ConnectWise to receive updates from Intronis for a computer being
backed up for the company selected. Each computer needs to be added to ConnectWise to allow
updates to be automatically sent each day. Repeat these steps for each account and each computer
that your customers use with Intronis Online Backup. It is assumed that each company has one
Username with Intronis and multiple computers or subaccounts.

Before proceeding, please find the username and computer ID on the Intronis servers for the company
selected. This information can be obtained by logging in to https://my.intronis.com with your Partner
Username and Password.

Add an Agreement
Navigate to the Agreements Tab of the Company. Select New.

Select an Agreement Type of “Intronis Online Backup”, type an Agreement Name of “Intronis Online
Backup”, and place a check mark next to “No Ending Date” as we are setting up our first account to test
the connector.

Add Management Solution


Navigate to the Management Tab of the Company. Select Save. Select New under the heading
Management Solutions.

Select a Solution of “IntronisOnlineBackup/IntronisOnlineBackup”, enter a Managed ID which is the


username for Intronis (In this example “magicrooster” is the account name), select a Device Type of
“Backup Stats”, and select a Default Agreement of “IntronisOnlineBackup/IntronisOnlineBackup”.
Select Save.

Add Configurations
Navigate to the Configuration Tab of the Company. Select New Item.

Select a Configuration Type of “Backup Stats” and enter a Name of “0000”. (0000 corresponds to the
computer ID of the computer being backed up.)

A separate configuration can be added for each computer ID that a company has selected for backup
with Intronis. For example, the exchange server could be 0000, the CEO laptop could be 0001, and the
office manager computer could be 0002. The computer ID entered depends on the setup in Intronis.

Fields that will be updated from Intronis are:

• Billable Space (GB)

• Last Backup

• Number of Successful Backups

Synchronizing
Each day, by default or based on the schedule set, ConnectWise will synchronize all changes
made to the Setup Tables. After completion of the instructions in this document, it is necessary to
Synchronize.

Navigate to Setup -> Setup Tables -> Enter “Management” -> Select Search -> Select “Management”

Select “Sync Now”.
