Song: Fix You by Coldplay


Pre class
The teacher will search information related to the song. Also he
will obtain the video clip.
Lead in
Ask the students if they have ever heard the song before. With
the Title they have to predict what the song is about.
Set up
The teacher asks the students to read the task A. Then he set
the task
Run the activity A
The students have to see the video clip once. Then they discuss
in pairs if their predictions were correct or not.
Close the activity A
The teacher will ask the students to explain what the song is
about.
Run the activity B
Before setting the activity the teacher make a review of the
simple present (affirmative, Negative, passive) and simple
future. The teacher explains the task and asks the students to
fill in the blanks with the verbs they heard.
Close The activity B
The teacher asks for volunteers to read the song in front of the
class.
Run the activity C
The students have to listen to the audio again. Then they have
to find phrases within the lyrics which carry similar meanings to
the phrases shown.
Close the activity C
They compare in pairs. Then the teacher chooses a victim to
answer the first sentence.
Post activity
Student try to draw their favorite part of the song.
