Similarities and Differences between Islam and Hinduism
Islam and Hinduism are two entirely separate religions with more differences between them
than similarities, as far as their major beliefs. Islam is a monotheistic religion that worships the
same god as Christianity and Judaism and has similar historical roots. Hinduism is a complex
religion that can be described as pantheistic or polytheistic. Hinduism includes karma and
reincarnation while Islam believes in salvation and an afterlife. The word Hindu has geographical
significance and was used originally for those people who lived beyond the river Sindhu or the
region watered by the river Indus. Hindus themselves, call their religion "Sanatana Dharma, "
meaning "Eternal Law." Islam is an Arabic word for "Submission or surrender in Ultimate
Peace".Muslim means a believer in One God (Al-Illah
or Allah)

in the world. I have some differences between Hinduism and Islam. Nobody find Hinduism
religion but Muhammad find Muslims religions. Hinduism scriptures are Vedas, Upanishad,
Puranas, and Gita. While Islam holy book is Quran/Koran. Hinduism worship place is temple
(mandir). On the other hand, Islam worship place is mosque, any place that is clean. The
Hinduism principal is to follow dharma, i.e eternal laws Muslim principal is Allah. He neither
begets nor is born, nor is there to him any equivalent. Hinduism place of origin is Indian Sub-
cotinent while Muslim origin is Mecca Saudi Arabia. Hinduism time origin is 3000 BCE
of origin is 610 BC. Hinduism used their god pictures commonly but Muslim has no pictures of
their god. Now, I have some similarities between these religions. Both Hinduism and Islam
accept god as the supreme being and absolute lord of the universe. The Allah of Islam is known
by 99 names same as Hinduism god Brahman known by several names. Both religions believe
in the moral responsibility of each individual towards others and in the practice of such virtues
as charity, doing good, forgiveness, moderation in eating, drinking, self-control brotherhood,
friendliness, patience and gratitude. Both religions advocate non-violence and non killing of
human life.while
