ONGC- Western Onshore Basin invites applications from young and energetic
Indian citizens for selection to the under mentioned posts from candidates with valid
registration of the Employment Exchanges located within the State of Gujarat. The
Employment Exchange certificate / card registration should be valid during the
online registration process.

The job demands outdoor field work in shifts requiring considerable physical efforts
and technical skills. The job is transferable to any Onshore/Offshore location within the
country as demanded by the semi-mobile nature of operations within India.

(B) OTHER CRITERIA i.e. Percentage required, age, Pay & Allowances, test
centre etc.
(i) Percentage of Marks in Minimum Qualification :-

(ii). Age criteria

a) Minimum age18 years & Maximum age for Gen 30 years, OBC 33 years &
SC/ST 35 years.
b) Age to be reckoned as on 12.12.2009.
c) Candidate competing for General Post should fulfill age criteria for General
Category
d) Departmental candidates will be given age relaxation as per company rules. In
respect of Post code 01 i.e. Asstt. Rigman (Drilling) no relaxation will be
admissible.
e) Ex Apprentice of ONGC will be given age relaxation for the period of
Apprenticeship training in ONGC.
(iii). Pay Scale/Allowances & other benefits

(a) Pay scale 1. Posts mentioned at Sl.No. 1 to 09 : Rs.5100/- open


ended with applicable rate of increment per year
2. Posts mentioned at Sl.No. 10 to 17 : Rs. 4700/- open
ended with applicable rate of increment per year

(d) Total Total emoluments & benefits on minimum scale will
emoluments & be ranging between Rs. 20000/- and Rs. 23000/-

iv) Test Centre :

The written test will be conducted at following centers – Ahmedabad, Surat and
Vadodara . Candidates have to choose one of these cities as Test Centre and no
change will be allowed subsequently. ONGC reserves the right to change any of
the above mentioned Test Centre at its discretion.
NOTE:
The written test will be held concurrently for all disciplines/ post on the
decided date for written Examination which is tentatively scheduled for 17th
of Jan 2010. Candidates will be allowed to appear for the subject / paper
relevant to the qualification selected.

C Selection Methodology

 Eligible candidate will be required to appear for Written Test (Objective type )
consisting of Technical/discipline concerned & General awareness.
 The Test paper will be bilingual i.e. Hindi & English.
 The candidates who qualify in the written test shall be called for Physical
Standard, wherever applicable and interview as per merit and criteria decided
by the Management.
 The written test tentatively scheduled 17.01.2010 (The exact date of the
test shall be communicated to the candidates through admit card and will
also be available on ONGC website (www.ongcindia.com)
 Screening and selection will be based on the details provided, hence it is
necessary that only accurate, full and correct information is furnished by the
applicants. Furnishing of wrong/false information will be disqualification and
ONGC will NOT be responsible for any consequence of furnishing of such
wrong/false information .
 Departmental candidate must ensure filling their own CPF Number of ONGC in
the appropriate column on the Online form failing which they shall not repeat
SHALL NOT be screened/considered as departmental candidates .
 The candidate will have to qualify at each stage i.e. Written, Physical (wherever
applicable) and in interview separately and in aggregate.

D. How to Apply

(i) Take a printout of SBI Payment Challan form:

SBI payment Challan Form (Payment Form) is available on the home page. To Download
the same Click here ►► The applicant will get 3 copies of the payment form; one
for self, one for SBI & one to be sent to ONGC.

The candidates can submit the payment, after filling payment detail in the
challan form like (Journal No., Branch Name, Branch code & Deposit date)
in any of the branch of State Bank of India (Rs.200/- for Gen/OBC
candidate and Rs.50/- for SC/ST candidates) in ONGC A/c. No.
30827318409.
Departmental candidates on roll of ONGC, including Term based/ Field
Operators can apply directly by following procedure laid down in
para D(ii) to D (v) below:
(ii) To fill the online application form following details should be ready
with the candidates .
 Valid E-mail Id, Contact Number.
 Selection of Test centre
 Details of valid Employment Exchange registration of Gujarat i.e.
Number, Validity from to and name of exchange where registered
 Qualification , percentage of marks , year of passing and Name of
Institute.
 Date of Birth
 CPF No. for departmental candidates including Term based/Field
Operators
 If Ex-Apprentice of ONGC, Place, Trade and period of Training .
 SC/ST/OBC certificate (in case of OBC, valid Non-creamy layer
Certificate in the format applicable for post in Central Govt. /Central Govt.
Undertaking) if applicable in the prescribed format duly signed by
Competent Authority.
 Details of SBI payment Challan (Journal No, Branch Name, Branch code,
Deposit date, where the Registration charges have been paid)

(iii) Online submission of Application :


Once the candidate has paid requisite fees in the Challan as mentioned in
para D( I ) above , eligible candidates would be required to apply online
through a link Apply Online for Recruitment of Posts in Western Sector
(Gujarat ) at ONGC website www.ongcindia.com .

Concerned Employment Exchanges have also been informed to intimate


eligible candidates to apply online to give wider publicity. Thus all
candidates will have to apply online (including ONGC departmental
candidates, Employment Exchange sponsored candidates, Ex-apprentices
of ONGC, Contingent /Casual employee, etc).
No other mode of application will be accepted.
(iv) Take a Print out of the online application – Once the form is filled and
submitted , the candidate is required to download the system generated
Registration Slip with unique registration number, space for photograph,
signatures and other details of the candidates filled by him.

(v) Documents to be sent by ordinary post. (Since Post Box do not accept
registered post.

 Printed Registration slip with affixed recent photograph (3.5x4.5 cms
with white background) and signature in the space provided. ( NOTE: If
the applicant is Departmental Candidates, Dependent of Deceased
Employees who have not availed Financial Assistance , Contingent and
Casual employee who has completed 240 day in 12 consecutive months
etc. needs to get the Registration Slip Certified / duly signed, by the I/C
HR-ER or his duly authorized representative before forwarding. Ex
Apprentices of ONGC to attach requisite Apprentice Training Cert. of
ONGC)

 ONGC’s copy of the SBI payment challan form with bank seal.
(Departmental candidates working in ONGC to send copy of their Identity
card in lieu of challan) .

 Copy of Caste certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC (along with Non


creamy layer certificate in case of OBC).

(vi) Admit card for written examination:


Exact date of the written test shall be communicated through
admit card and will also be available on to www.ongcindia.com
web site.

The admit card with details of the candidate, Roll No., date, time, venue
of the examination, post applied for, category and discipline can be
downloaded directly from the www.ongcindia.com at
Recruitment of Post in Western Sector (GUJARAT) by entering
the unique Registration number printed on the Registration Slip
and Date of Birth by 05.01.2010. The same will also be e-mailed to
the candidate at the e-mail address mentioned in the application form.
No other communication will be sent separately.
The candidates are therefore advised to check their e-mail and

E. General Instructions:

(a) ONGC takes no responsibility for any delay in receipt or loss in postal transit of
any application or communication

(b) Following documents in original, (as applicable) are required to be


produced at the time of Interview (without which candidates will not be
allowed to appear in the interview).
(i) Valid Employment Exchange Registration Card issued by
Employment Exchange located in the state of Gujarat.
(ii) SC/ST/OBC (In case of OBC Valid Non-creamy layer Certificate in
the format applicable for post in Central Govt/Central Govt.
Undertaking), if applicable, in the prescribed SAMPE format given,
duly signed by Competent Authority.
(iii) Educational/Technical qualification certificate ( will be reckoned as on
interview date)
(iv) Proof of Date of Birth
(v) Cert. from I/C HE-ER of the Work Centre, of being Departmental
Candidate, Dependent of Deceased as per policy, Contingent
/Casual having completed 240 days in 12 consecutive months along
with Identity card if any)
(vi) Cert. of Apprentices Training in ONGC.
(vii) No Objection Certificate in case of candidates in employment of
Public Sector undertaking/Govt. Service.

(c ) Request for change of mailing address/examination


centre/category/discipline as declared in the application, will not be
entertained. However, ONGC reserves the right to cancel or add any centre
depending on the response in that area/centre.

(d) Registration slip should not have any enclosure except the challan copy and
SC/ST/OBC certificate/copy of ID card ( for departmental candidate) as
applicable.

(e) The print out of registration slip should be untampered (No photocopies are
allowed). In case of any overwriting or tampering of Registration slip, the
candidature of the candidate shall be rejected.

(f) Candidate should retain the copy of their Challan and Registration Slip for
future reference.

(g) The candidates are required to deposit the applicable fee, as indicated in
para D( I ) above at any branch of State Bank of India . Candidature of
candidates making deposition of other mode of fees or submitting
photocopies of Registration Slip/ Challan Slip or any other discrepancy will
be rejected.

(h) Departmental candidates will be allowed relaxation in age as per existing


rules.

(i) Employment Exchanges of Ahmedabad/ Mehsana/ Bharuch/Anand/


Chhotaudaipur/ Gandhinagar/ Vadodara have been requested to suitably
inform the sponsored candidates, to apply online by visiting

(j) Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their passing the


Company’s Medical Examination as per standards laid down under ONGC’s
Medical & Health Policy.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL CANDIDATES
Any sort of canvassing or influencing the officials related to the
