Summary: In the article the author describes a treatment experience of rehabilitation
department of institution Osoby Rebenok. In the institution it was studied the
isolated influence of OLM and the influence of OLM in the complex with
Scenar-therapy, exercise therapy, massage and acupuncture on the functional
state of Nervous System of Children with neurological pathologies. The new
complex methods of treatment were developed. There were observed 67
patients with lesions of locomotor apparatus, with muscular and
cardiovascular systems diseases, as well as with neurosis-like syndromes.
There were revealed combinations of the methods, which give the optimum
therapeutic effect. It is specified, that the received positive effects from
neurological and somatic status of patients indicate the purposeful influence of
the given complex methods of treatment on the basic pathogenetic
mechanisms of neurologic diseases.
Treatment of Children with Affection of Nervous System and
Locomotor Apparatus
In spite of the fact that there are a lot of therapeutic means for treatment of nervous system
affection and locomotor apparatus, and psychic disorders of speech, the problem of corrective-
restorative treatment is not solved. One of the kinds of medical influence, intended for treatment of
functional and organic diseases of central nervous system is SCENAR-therapy.
In institution Osoby Rebenok 374 children, aged from 1 month to 16 years were treated.
Among them: 43 children under a year; 138 of 1-3 years; 131 of 3-7 years; 56 of 7-14 years;
6 from 14-16 years.
The data, concerning nosological forms are given in table 1.

The main contingent in our institution is children with cerebral spastic infantile paralysis.
We analyzed clinical picture and neurological symptoms of children, directed to SCENAR-therapy,
and singled out the main clinical symptoms of CCS, which are given in table 2.

At examination in the majority of cases cerebral disorders were revealed (headache,
dizziness, disorders of memory, increased fatiguability, decrease of capacity for work, dysphoria,
behavior, sleep disorder. In 90,2 % of cases motor disorders in the form of different degree of
affection (paraplegia) and tone change (hypertone, myotonia, dystonia) were observed).
38,4% - hyperkinesis in the form of athetosis, choreoathetosis, with predominant
localization in upper extremities, humeral part, trunk, head, and general motor anxiety, motor
awkwardness, static and dynamic ataxia.
42, 5% speech disorders (dysarthria, phalalia, delay of speech development, logoneurosis).
11% pelvic disorders of central and peripheral type.
In the majority of cases organic neurological symptomatology was revealed : paresis of VII,
XII, III, VI ; disorders of reflex sphere (anisoreflexion, hypereflexia, pathological reflexes,
disorders of sensibility (hyposthesia, hypersthesia, more often in distal parts and anogenital zone);
disorders of functions of autonomous nervous system (hyperhydrosis, excess salivation) ).
30, 4% of children, according ECHO- EEG had chronic intracranial hypertension. At
estimation of the EEG data in the majority of cases pathological changes of bioelectric activity of
the brain were marked. These changes are characterized, mainly, be their tendency to diffuse
disorganization and hypersynchronization of general rhythm, intensification of regional differences
in their distribution, bilateral-synchronic high-amplitude paroxysms of the waves of slow activity.
General principle of treatment in institution Osoby rebenok is individual selection of
influence scheme. At SCENAR-therapy we used combination of continuous and individually-dosed
modes of work, depending on the age of a patient, clinical form, difficulty of affection. At the
beginning of the procedure, a general regulating influence (along three tracks, segment zones,
points of trifacial outlet, then, according the rules of SCENAR-therapy and then, along the zones,
pointed out in instruction) was made. The course of treatment was 7-10 days, the repeated course
in 2-3 months. Termination of the course of treatment was determined according SCENAR-
expertise rules, control of cyclic recurrence of adaptive reactions.
We selected several different schemes of combined treatment of children.
1. Motor disorders: SCENAR-therapy; SCENAR+OLM; SCENAR+SuDZOK, SCENAR+
Impulse-resonance therapy SCENAR + puncture physiotherapy (influence on general points, liver
channel, speech zones, thermo-, vibro-, electropuncture): SCENAR + Diprokor (was used as
preparation of nerve-muscular apparatus for treatment according method of dynamic proprioceptive
regulation); SCENAR + electrostimulation in alternation; SCENAR + massage; SCENAR + method
of Skvortsov-Osipenko.
2. Psychospeech disorders: SCENAR+ punctuated massage, studies with speech therapist,
SCENAR+SuDzjok (zones of general influence, speech zones); SCENAR + thermotreatment
(applications of ozokerite before SCENAR-therapy), studies with speech therapist; SCENAR+
Scvortsov-Osipenko method.

SCENAR+ darsonvalism of lumbosacral part of the backbone in alternation; SCENAR+ Scvortsov-
Osipenko method.
After the course of treatment there were 78 % of improvements, insignificant improvement
12 %, absence of improvement 10 %.
The dynamics of clinical indices is given in the table 3.
Under influence of treatment there are:
Correction of motor disorders: decrease of expressiveness of paresis at the expense of
change (increase or decrease of the tone, changed before); as effect of it, improvement of vertical
position, feet support, stopping of pathological tonic reflexes, increase of the volume of active,
passive movements, sometimes mastering of new functions, which were absent before (sitting,
walking, manipulations with the help of hands, easening of self-service).
Correction of emotionally- volitional, speech disorders: increase of motivation and attention,
enriching of vocabulary, normalization of the tone of speech-motor muscles, decrease of asthenia,
improvement of the smoothness of sleep and speech.
Correction of the pelvic disorders. The best positive dynamics at neurosis-like enuresis.
Improvement of bioelectric activity of the brain at the expense of normalization of the main
rhythms, regularity, decrease of hypersynchronization and slow wave activity, diffuse and
paroxysmal.

It is necessary to mark, that at hyperkinetic form in some cases hyperkinesis became more
frequent, EEG showed intensification of slow wave activity in the from of tetta and delta waves.
Conclusions
1. The positive effect, we spoke about in the article, is evidence to purposeful influence of the
given method of treatment on the main pathogenetic mechanisms of neurological diseases.
2. The effectiveness of treatment, according the data is better in early age (up to 1 year 89%)
3. The usage of SCENAR-therapy in combination with other methods of treatment (Su-Dzhok,
IRT, Diprokor, Scvortsov-Osipenko) is proved to be effective by clinico-instrumental
positive dynamics.
4. It is expedient to use individual schemes of treatment, depending on the age, difficulty of the
process and form of affection.
