Originally founded in 1998, Founder and
President Dr. Srinivas R. Gaddam wanted to
help nontraditional students fulfill their
dreams of becoming a doctor; President
Gaddam provided an opportunity for
students to start and/or continue their
medical school education at a reasonable
cost.

The government of St. Kitts and Nevis
authorized Windsor University School of
Medicine to confer the Doctor of Medicine
degree and this holds true today. Graduates
are also eligible for licensure in St. Kitts-
Nevis Federation. In addition, WUSM is
listed on the World Health Organization
(WHO) website as a recognized medical
school.

In 2001, WUSM qualified for ECFMG,
the Educational Commission for Foreign
Medical Graduates, which means WUSM
graduates are eligible for taking clinical
clerkship rotations in the United States.

Since 2006, WUSM created three 5
th

semester sites in the United States. Students
have the option to study for the Introduction
to Clinical Medicine (ICM) and USMLE
Part I in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio or St.
Kitts.

In 2012, the North American Research
Center, affiliated with Windsor University,
broke ground with a million dollar
operation committed to cancer research.
