There's no perfect church
From EJ Hill & Friends

My Response
My first problem with this statement, is that in nature it is absolute. To make such an absolute statement, you
would have had to, at least, examine, every known Church denomination in the known universe.

The question then is: "Have you been to every Church?" In fact, "Have you even examine the ones in your own
village?" Most likely, not. Then I ask you, "How can you, with so much certainty, say: 'There's no perfect

But let us, for the moment consider, that indeed, "There is no perfect Church".

Even then, we may NEVER use our imperfection as an excuse (or license) to continue in sin or immorality.

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid." (Rom.
6v1-2a, AKJV, p.500)

"What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid." (Rom.
6v15, AKJV, p.500)

"For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this
condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our Lord into lasciviousness, and denying the only
Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ." (Jude 1v4, AKJV, p.543)

Even then, we may NEVER use our imperfection as an excuse not to strive towards perfection?

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." (Mt. 5v48, AKJV,

"Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding
be men." (1 Cor. 14v20, AKJV, p.510)

Double Standards

What I find, and always found, extremely hypocritical about those who propound this excuse, is this:

While they are quick to excuse their own, in playing the "No Perfect Church" card; they are also very quick to
lash out against the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons, and the Unification Church - not extending them the same

The Early Church

There's no perfect church - EJ Hill & Friends

Consider for a moment, the Early Church responding to Paul's Letters of Correction, with "There's no perfect
Church, Paul":

Let's take, for instance, First Corinthians chapter 5 where Paul writes to the Church at Corinth, saying:

"It is reported that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named
among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife." (v1) He accuses them of being "puffed
up" (v2), even "glorying" (v6), while they should have rather "mourned" (v2). He rebukes them for
judging the world, and not judging each other. (v2, 12-13) But the modern response to that letter, it
seems, would be, "Don't judge us Paul, there is no perfect Church!"

The modern Church are doing exactly what Paul, in First Corinthians chapter 5, taught them never to do. They
judge the world, but never their own.

As Christians we have no excuse for NOT understanding Scripture, since Spiritual Enlightenment is our Christian

A Logical Conclusion

I know no-one studies logic anymore, but think about it, even logic defies the above. If everyone played the "No
Perfect Church" card, we'd have nothing but a Liberal Ecumenical Consensus, which no-one could ever question.

"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving
heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their
conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats,
which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth."
(1 Tim. 4v1-3, AKJV, p.527)

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall
they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the
truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work
of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry." (2 Tim. 4v3-5, AKJV, p.529)
