SET- A

**1.) Construct a scale of 1¼”=1 foot, to measure upto 5 feet and show 3’5” on it.
**

(5)

**2.) The distance between two points on a map is 5¾”. The points actually 20
**

miles apart. Construct a diagonal scale of the map showing miles & furlongs

and to read upto 25 miles. (8)

**3.) The foci of an ellipse are 90 mm apart and the minor axis is 65 mm long.
**

Determine the length of the major axis and draw ellipse by concentric circle

method. Also draw a normal and tangent at a point 25 mm above the major

axis. (7)

2 feet on it. (5)

**2.) On a map, the distance between two points is 14 cm. the real distance between
**

them is 20 km. draw a diagonal scale of this map to read kilometers and to

measure upto 25 km. show a distance of 17.6 km on this scale. (8)

**3.) Two fixed points A & B are 100 mm apart. Trace the complete path of a point
**

P moving in such a way that the sum of its distances from A & B is always tha

same & equal to 125 mm. Also draw normal & tangent at any point on the

curve. (7)

**

of Chords. (5)

**2.) A 3.2 cm long line represents a length of 4 metres. Extend this line to measure
**

upto 25 metres & show on it units of metre, decimeter & metres. Show the

length of 17.7 m on this line. (8)

**3.) The vertex of a curve is 65 mm from its focus. Draw the curve if the

**

measure upto 500 metres & show a distance of 207 metres on it. (8)

3.) Draw a straight line AB. Mark a point F, 65 mm from AB. Trace the path of a

point P moving in such a way, that that the ratio of its distance from the point

F, to its distance from AB is 2:3. plot at least 8 points. Draw normal and a

tangent to each curve at a point on it, 50 mm from F. (7)
