This advanced course of Dynamic Positing (DP) System focuses on the
operational planning, conduct and execution as well as the safety practice and
procedures in DP operations and provides advance training and extensive
participation (in simulated environment) in a variety of capacities and scenarios
while handling DP routines and emergency situation.

COURSE AIMS &OBJECTIVES: By the end of the course, the candidate should be
able to:
acquire thorough know-how of practical aspects of DP operations;
capably plan, conduct and execute DP Operations, including risk assessment,
contingency planning and assessment of vessel capability;
undertake the operation with due regard to all circumstances of seamanship and
operational requirements; and
properly react to any circumstances which constitute catastrophic failure or could
lead to such failure.

COVERAGE / PROGRAMFOCUS: Emphasis of instruction and exercise activities
deals with the following subject and training areas:
Functional Set up and Controls of a DP System
DP Operations (Planning, Conduct and Execution)
DP Alarms, Warning and Emergency Procedures
Review and Supplementary Topics including Human Elements in DP Operations

METHOD: Combination of theoretical and practical instructions in appropriate
arrangement and sequence reinforced with hands-on activities and exercises.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT / TARGET GROUP: Entry to this course is open to marine
personnel who have completed DP Basic/Induction course and a minimum of 30 days
seagoing DP familiarization including completion of log.

COURSE CERTIFICATE: A Certificate of Completionis given to each candidate who
satisfactorily fulfills the Course.
