Using Multi-Sensory Approaches To Support Learning

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background
language learning is dull and tedious - pupils always seems uninterested and
demotivated to learn the language
to examine how does the use of multi-sensory approaches are able to support
and enhance learners' learning experiences
1.2 Reflection of past teaching experience
learners experiencing immense difficulties in learning- displayed boredom,
become restless or fell asleep during instructions
pupils were not motivated to learn and lack focus and concentration
2.0 WHAT IS MY FOCUS OF INVESTIGATION?
2.1 What is my research issue?
preliminary interview and document analysis from the class teacher - some
learners are lack of motivation and lack of focus and concentration
affecting their performance in testing and assessment - do not show
improvement
2.2 What have I learnt about my research issue?
Cambridge dictionary online, multi: having many, sensory: connected with the
physical touch, smell, taste, hearing and sight. thus, multi-sensory; engage all
three modalities simultaneously, providing multiple pathways to the brain
using this type of approach will motivate the learners in language learning
because it is fun and interesting
however, I expect that the classroom management will be a bit difficult to control.
3.0 WHAT IS/ ARE MY RESEARCH QUESTION/S?
will the objective of the learning improve with the use of the approaches?
what are the learners' responses towards the approaches?
how does the use of multi-sensory approaches are able to enhance and improve
learning?
4.0 WHO ARE MY RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS?
pupils who shows a slow improvement in language learning from document
analysis and teacher's interview (5 pupils)
