SPEED LIMIT CHANGE

Duran, Jennifer Aieta (lead water engineer), Jon
Ashton, Emma Hardy and Tara Schoedinger. All
town water is under a Boil Advisory.
Crews are working hard to get the rest of
Jamestown online by early August.
Road Work - Work continues on the roads in
Jamestown as Duran lays water lines and
restores fill and grade. The Town will send out
road closures and delays regularly as we know
the schedule or it changes. You can find the
latest road information here. We
appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation
during this critical time.
Howlett's Gulch - Colt & Steel is nearing
completion on the work on Howlett's Gulch.
Private Property Debris Removal (PPDR) -
The contract has been awarded to Resurgence
Demolition for the demolition and removal of
approved properties in Jamestown under the
PPDR program. Due to the construction of
the water lines and road repairs on Lower Main
St, the demolition projects will begin once Duran
is complete with their work.
HMGP Buyout Program - Buyout values have
been determined and communicated to property
owners. The Town's application is due
in August.
The Jamestown Long-Term Recovery Plan - The
Town has awarded a contract to Marjo X to help
guide the community through its own Long-Term
Recovery Planning process. Marjo will be at the
next community meeting in order to kick-off the
planning process.
Andersen Bridge - Designs are
underway. Construction is expected to begin in
August.
Flood Anniversary Planning - Efforts have begun
to plan the commemorative events of the Flood
Anniversary in Jamestown. If you would like to
be on the planning committee, please notify co-
chairs Rainbow Schultz or Erika Archer.
Rebuilding Efforts - MDS volunteers continue to
work on various projects as they prepare to build
seven houses with voluntary labor. (See below
for more.)
Please see Mayor Tara's July 8 Community
Presentation for more.

Welcome Nancy and Bruce Smith, our new MDS project directors!

This past week, Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) hosted a
small group of youth with chaperons from Mt. Lake, MN. They all
did a great job dry walling, painting and moving a lot of rocks and
earth. Bruce Smith, current project director, lined up additional
jobs both in Jamestown and for our nearby neighbors. If you
would like to share your story with MDS volunteers or take them
on a hike, please contact Bruce and Nancy at:

Welcome to Jimtown
by Sylvia Welner

...an imagined expedition through
the lives of the wildlife and
people living in a real mountain
town near Boulder,
Colorado. Straddling the human-
animal divide, the story takes the
reader into the world of a group
of wilderness animals, with
Burnee, a Black Bear,
assuming the role of lead
provocateur. The result is a
series of whimsical adventures
centered around the animals'
innovative ways of finding food,
fun, and security. Along the way,
they take on life's challenges,
whether they be the distressful
behavior of their mischievous
offspring or the dilemma of a wild
turkey who wants to become the
family pet.

Awesome stuff going on in JT! Jamestown Residents received
help last week from Champion Forest Baptist Church out of
Houston, Texas. The team is part of a larger network of youth
groups in Texas and came to us through the amazing support of
Joe Fuller, volunteer extraordinaire from the Southern Baptists.
The group consisted of 12 hard-working teens and adults who
helped with landscaping, debris removal and clean-up. We are
thankful for their help and will be seeing more Baptist groups
throughout the summer. If you are looking for assistance, please
contact Nina.

Greg Windell (pictured on the left) comes from a well-known stream
engineering family and
has spent much of his life creating kayak courses, fishing pools, and working
on wetland revegetation projects. He is largely responsible for the beautiful
work done in our stream.
On Saturday, Greg Windell from Colt & Steel met with five
Jamestown residents to train them in the art of wetland

Carolyn Donadio
Allan Mueller
Jason Servetar

Now that these five have the knowledge, they can teach the rest

Hello from the Colorado
Spirit Canyons Team!

Colorado Spirit will continue to have a
presence in Jamestown Town Hall on
Saturdays from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. We
have talked to several people from the
community and we appreciate you
sharing your stories with us and
familiarizing us with your community and
your challenges. As we move further
from the floods in September, resources
begin to thin and others often grow tired
of hearing about the ongoing difficulties
people experience due to the flood. That
is why we are here: we are willing
to listen. If you are feeling disillusioned
with the recovery process and need to
discuss next steps, please come and
