Unsupported Operating Systems The following operating systems are not supported for AccuMark Family software. While you may be able to install this software, it is possible you will experience technical problems. Windows ME Windows XP Home Edition Windows 9x
3. Operating System Guidelines 3.1 Windows XP, 2000 and NT Users There are many permutations and combinations of user permissions that an administrator can implement. The AccuMark installation does not override security permissions. Since an administrator can create registry keys at most levels, it is required that a user with administrator privileges perform all setups.
You may not be fully able to uninstall an application under Windows if you are not logged on with the same privileges that you had when you installed the application. For further details please refer to the Configuration Notes for Windows.
3.2 Windows Service Packs AccuMark version 8.0.5 and later installations require that you have the latest windows service packs installed before proceeding with the installation of AccuMark software. Before starting the installation use the Test for Minimum Requirements to check your system. Refer to the charts in section 2 above for the required service pack version for each of the suitable operating systems.
If you run the installation of AccuMark version 8.0.5 or later and have a previous version of AccuMark V8 software, the installation will first remove the previous version. If your system does not meet the minimum operating system requirements, you will not be able to proceed with the installation. You may return to a previous version by re-installing that software.
3.3 Installing the Windows XP Professional Updates Windows XP Professional critical updates can be downloaded from Microsofts website. From the Start Menu, select All Programs followed by Windows Update. Note this requires an Internet connection.
3.4 Installing the Windows 2000 Service Pack The Microsoft Permissions/Copyright Group does not provide special permission to redistribute Service Packs for Windows 2000. It is required to install Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 on all Windows 2000 systems. Windows 2000 Service Packs provide the latest updates to the Windows 2000 family of operating systems. These updates are a collection of fixes in various areas and are cumulative (for example, Service Pack 4 will have items from Service Pack 3 and earlier). To get the latest service packs and update, use the Tools, Windows Update from the Internet Explorer, and select the Scan for Updates link. Note that this requires an internet connection.
3.5 Installing the Windows NT 4.0, Service Pack If you have Windows NT 4.0, it is highly recommended that you install Microsoft Service Pack 6a on your system.
To install the Service Pack, visit the Microsoft Windows NT Server Web site at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/servicepacks. Before downloading, determine the type of encryption installed on the system. This information can be found at the same website.
On a clean NT 4.0 with service pack 6 install Adobe Acrobat Reader before installing AccuMark. On NT, if problems are encountered when installing the software, close the Web/Install window and continue. 4. Software Installation Instructions The Installation procedure for AccuMark Advanced Edition Release 8.0.8 will automatically install the appropriate software on the AccuMark Advanced Edition system. This includes: Pattern Design ASTM Pattern Conversion Wizard DXF Converter (DXF Import) Lconvert (Lectra to AccuMark)
Additional applications such as Winplot are included with the professional software license but must be installed separately.
Important! Clock: Date and Time It is extremely important to check the date and time BEFORE proceeding with the installation of the software. Turning back the clock once the software has been installed and running is strongly discouraged!

Setting Permissions provides the ability for non-administrator users to access Gerber data and applications. 16. You can optionally view the Readme document at the end of the installation which will open the Release Notes using Adobe Acrobat Reader. 17. When the installation has completed, select Yes to restart your computer, if prompted. 4.2 License Agreement When you run the AccuMark system for the first time after installing the software an approval of the licensing agreement is necessary. Once the affirmative response has been entered, the licensing agreement will not display again
4.3 Directory Structure The installation creates the C:\USERROOT directory structure, which contains the data, required by the system. The program files are located in the subdirectories under c:\program files\Gerber Technology.
5. Hardware & Software Security AccuMark Products use a combination of software based security technology and a hardware security key (dongle) to license and protect the software. Version 8 software will not run on a system that does not have the new key and license file.
5.1 Hardware Security attaching the key Attach the security key (dongle) to the parallel port of the PC or workstation. A Security License File is unique to each security key (dongle). The combination of key and license file will allow activation of the AccuMark Family software as stated in the software subscription contract.
5.2 Retrieving your License File The security license file name is a combination of the product and key number with the file extension of .lic, for example accumark111.lic. Copy the appropriate license file onto the system with the matching key number.
If the license file was received through Email, save the attached file to a location on your hard drive or on the desktop (for example, c:\program files\common files\gerber technology\gt license manager). If the license file was received on a floppy, it may be installed directly from the floppy and/or copied to your hard drive.
5.3 Software Security License Install License program The AccuMark Family Product CD installs an Install License program that easily copies your license file into the proper destination for use by AccuMark applications. Use the Install License icon on the Desktop, or from the LaunchPad on the "AccuMark Explorer/Utilities" page, or use the AccuMark V8 folder, select "AccuMark Explorer/Utilities" and then "Install License".
A dialog box displays allowing you to choose the Product and source location for the
Page 10 of 55
license file (use the ellipses () button to locate your license file). Note the key number on the right had side of the dialog box and match to the right license file. Run the program once for each Product. The program, by default, looks for files of type .lic . It will prompt you to overwrite the existing license file if one already exists

Refer to the Configuration Notes and Whats New with AccuMark in the AccuMark documentation folder for further up-to-date information relating to your software and installation. 10.1 ACCUMARK HIGHLIGHTS AccuMark 8.0.8 Software Changes and Enhancements Refer to the Whats New document in the AccuMark documentation folder. AccuMark 8.0.8 Changes since 8.0.7
Cut Generation Implemented Cut Generation in AccuMark AE
Pattern Design 8.0.8 Changes since 8.0.7
Made a correction to allow the pen to work in the proper scale on the entire tablet when using "Float" mode.
Corrected a problem where saving a rotated or flipped piece could cause the seam and notches to inverse and change the size or look of the piece.
Piece would distort at the corners if seams were defined without Auto Update and notches were added manually on the corner. This has been resolved.
AccuMark 8.0.7 Software Changes and Enhancements Refer to the Whats New document in the AccuMark documentation folder. AccuMark 8.0.7 Changes since 8.0.6
Data Management Rename Data was not supporting the question mark, ?, wild card character. This problem has been resolved. Reports Corrected grading problems related to the amounts generated in the perimeter reports. Previously, it caused incorrect straight/curved perimeter values. Results now agree with those produced with System Mgmt. Corrected the amounts for Piece Perimeter Reports on Models to display the total perimeter inches based on the quantity of pieces in the model. The values now reflect the same report values as System Management. ThesinglePiecereporthasbeenfixedtoreportthenotchtypeandquantitycorrectly.
Installation The installation procedure has been updated to check for the latest service packs prior to uninstalling the previous software version. The Install License program has been updated with a Validate button for checking the license file and key. For instance, it will display a message "Error - License File and Key Do Not Match" if the incorrect license file is applied. Marker Plot When plotting to the Infinity plotter, if large amounts of data were sent and the buffer setting for passes was high, this system could stop responding and halt the plotter. This problem has been resolved. Marking In previous version, notch on first point of piece will display in wrong direction or be missing in Marker Making, now this prblem is fixed. Model Order As Selected was not working correctly in the Model editor. Not all of the pieces were being included. This problem has been resolved. NESTERserver When sending a group of markers to Nester, if the first marker had an error, Nester would not continue on and nest the remainder of the markers. This problem has been resolved. The overlap value was not activating correctly in sectional markers made by Nester. Now it fixed. NESTERserver was not able to access markers on the SQL/MSDE storage areas. Now it is working. Error 54 was appearing when opening forms and programs on V8. The error no longer appears. Pattern Conversion Wizard If the style name is missing from the dxf file on import with ASTM/AAMA it will no longer error out. Like with the 4.3.4 AAMA conversion if the style name is missing the model name will become the same as the dxf file that was used. If the style name is found than that will become the model name in AccuMark. In the Pattern Conversion Wizard, smoothing points for internal lines are now exported to layers 85-87. In the Pattern Conversion Wizard, smoothing points for internal lines are now imported from layers 85-87. Matched the curve tolerance used for AccuMark in the ASTM conversion. .006 inches and .152 MM. Pattern Conversion Wizard will take the file name as the style name when the entry for Style Name is missing from the dxf file. Notches on mirror line were converting at the 45 degrees that PDS shows. Now they are corrected. If reference notch happens to be on an intermediate point when graded it moves off and it causes a different number of points on the graded sizes. This problem showed in exporting data through AAMA/ASTM and has been fixed. After Exporting and importing in ASTM, half of piece was missing. This has been corrected. Now when importing using Pattern Conversion Wizard, if an internal label does not exist, the letter 'I' will be assigned so that it can be verified.
Now Pattern Conversion Wizard can browse Model/Ruletable files in MSDE/SQL storage areas by RMB just like in normal SAs to export. Corrected problems when exporting data and logged in as a limited user (non-admin. Rights). Previously, it would close the PCW program. The non-graded notch is in the correct position now after exporting to ASTM format and importing style back into system. UltraQueue If UltraQue queue submission was loaded on a 7.6 AccuMark, it couldn't open. This has been fixed.
Pattern Design 8.0.7 Changes since 8.0.6
Online Help AE PDS Help has been updated to properly execute the Search function. Darts In some cases using Fold Dart would not add notches to both sides of a dart, or if they were added correctly, using File/Save would remove one of the notches. This has been corrected. Updated Save to correct data which had perimeter lines which were accidentally hidden as a result of using Fold Dart. Data If corrupt data that had no sizes defined was retrieved, the system would stop responding. The problem has been resolved and a message is displayed stating that the base size has been defined as 1 and Assign Rule Table can be used to reapply the correct size line. The message states, Piece xxx found with invalid number of sizes was automatically fixed. Piece now has one numeric size 1. Use Assign Rule Table to assign additional sizes. If a notch existed on the closure point of a piece, the notch would not display in plot or marking. This problem has been resolved. Digitize Data Digitized data that had spaces in the filename was causing errors in PDS. This problem has been resolved. Edit The Open and Save piece processes will automatically assign an internal label 'I' to all internals that are unlabelled or have invalid labels. Edit Line Info will not allow the internal label to be unassigned or invalid. This avoids errors when exporting as AAMA data. In Edit Notch Info, selecting one notch by marquis, when there were multiple notches on the line, would select more than one notch. This problem has been resolved. The Notch Type field on the Style Tab in Preferences has been expanded to support values of 0-99. In Edit Point Info, if a rule that doesn't exist was entered, and then Cancel was selected in the Select Rule Table and Edit Point Info dialogs, the graded nest would display on the piece and the notches were temporarily cleared from display.
Tracking has been updated so that pressing the arrow keys tracks from the currently selected piece. In previous releases, the keys would track from the currently highlighted piece and this sometimes caused confusion for users. When PDS was first opened, notches did not always highlight correctly when selected. This problem has been resolved. File While in File/Open, if a model is selected and then the right mouse button option open with Model Editor is used, it now opens with the Model Editor window (previously would open a new PDS window). If a point was added to a line, the system would not prompt to save the piece when PDS was closed. Now, if the only change made to a piece is adding a point, the system will prompt to save the piece. Corrupt data that was missing a closed perimeter was causing the system to stop responding when the data was retrieved. This problem has been resolved. Grade The grade functions that use charts were not accepting fractions correctly. For example, 1/8 was entered as 1. This problem has been resolved. The graded nest did not update correctly until another function was selected. This occurred when using Copy Grade Rule when the nest was displayed and the target piece had a notch. This problem has been resolved. Using Copy Grade Rule on a piece when the starting point was the end of a mirror line with a notch would cause the system to stop responding. This problem has been resolved. Create Nest is no longer allowing the piece name to contain invalid characters for the AccuMark system. If a piece had only 1 grade rule the measurements displayed for the sew lines would differ with the functions Measure/Line and Grade/Measure Line. These two measurements are now consistent for a piece with only one grade rule. In the Edit Delta function, if a value was changed, then the scroll arrow was clicked without clicking on the Update button first, the values that were edited before the scroll arrow would go back to their original values. This problem has been resolved. Line In Copy Line, the problem has been resolved that multiple copies don't display for each line moving until last one is placed when. Every copied line displays in the work area after being placed. Using Delete Line to try and delete seam internals would cause the system to stop responding. This problem has been resolved. The correct way to save a piece with no sew lines is the turn Hide Seam ON while the piece is being saved. Or, use Piece/Seam/Remove Seam which hide the seam for the selected piece(s). This way they will not display in the rest of the system. The Create Blend function would cause the system to stop responding if the blend point was selected while in Value mode. This problem has been resolved. Swap Line on a specific piece was dropping the notches on the line. This problem has been resolved. Using Split Line on a perimeter point with an N attribute was still applying smoothing through the intersection. This problem has been resolved.
Notch Previously the Angled Notch function could not be used in Value mode. Notches can now be positioned by specifying a value. The value displayed in the Angle field will be 0 to 180 (pointing inside of the piece) or 0 to -180 (pointing outside of the piece). Previously Split Piece would make angled notches becomes perpendicular. Now it has been resolved. If a notch was added at the corner by dragging along the mirror line, the notches would disappear after Mirror Piece was performed. This problem has been resolved. Create Trace would drop notches from certain pieces when traced. This problem has been resolved. Perpendicular notches on ends of seam internals were not plotting or displaying in Marker Making. The problem has been resolved, however the markers need to be reordered for the notches to display in the marker. Specific data did not display a notch at an end of line location when it should have. This issue has been corrected. In some cases, splitting a line at a notch on a folded dart caused the notch to be removed. This issue has been corrected. In certain cases, notches at the ends of dart legs on folded notches would be removed if the piece was swapped two times. This problem has been resolved.
Piece The Point/Line Info box did not display consistently for notches in the Walk Piece function. This problem has been resolved and the box is now always displayed for the stationary piece. The Piece/Split Function in Advanced Edition had no default value for Grade Options when it was first used. This problem has been resolved. Corrected an issue in Walk Piece that caused the PDS session to closes when the function was used on specific data. When pieces were merged, the notch at the intersection of the merge was being dropped. This has been corrected. Under certain circumstances, using Merge Piece with the grading displayed would cause the system to stop responding. This problem has been resolved. If notches existed on an internal line and the piece was split on that line, the notches were not always correctly maintained. This issue has been corrected. Create rectangle in value mode was allowing invalid characters as the new piece name. This has been fixed. A problem with notches moving after Split Piece or Create Facing has been fixed. Corrected an issue with Combine/Merge Piece which would sometimes result in the notches of folded darts being incorrectly angled on the new, combined piece. When Split Piece functions were used on a piece with a curved intersection, standard notches were sometimes converted to reference notches and the notches moved. This issue has been corrected. Point The Add Drills Distance function was not always creating the past drill hole point. This problem has been resolved. Previously in Edit Point/Line/Piece, de-selection was not working and the deselected items were still edited. Now it has been resolved. If a distance value specified for a new point in Mark X Point happened to be the same location as a system smoothing point, the mark point would not be added. This has been corrected.
Preferences In Preferences, the closing parenthesis was missing from the range for Magnetic Tolerance. The label now displays correctly. Made corrections to Digitized Notch conversions for a specific case where the piece perimeter was qualifying as a digitized notch and converting to a notch when it should not have been converting. Seam In certain circumstances, if seam was defined for a piece by defining it for the individual lines, an intersection error could occur when saving the data. This problem has been resolved. Seam would fail to start under certain conditions (registry key values were missing and have been updated to contain the needed parameters). Using Save after updating seam caused the seam internal to distort on specific data. This issue has been corrected. The function Swap Sew/Cut has been updated to maintain the correct point numbers on Seam Corner points. Previously, the point numbers sometimes changed on seam corners when a piece was swapped. On specific data, using Swap Sew/Cut could cause Pattern Design to close unexpectedly. When working in V7 Compatibility mode, if update seam was used, it was possible to set the seam mode to Generate Mode. Update Seam has been corrected so that a message displays if V8 seam settings are selected when running in V7 mode.
Silhouette When using Trim/Extend Piece, if a value larger than the accepted range of .25/.625 cm was entered, an error message would display and then the value would still be applied. Trim/Extend Piece has been updated to only apply values within the accepted range. The Line/Curve function was deleting the piece or causing the system to stop responding if 'Create As New Piece' was selected after creating a piece. This problem has been resolved. When using Silhouette, if a piece perimeter was entered using Line/Curve and then Add Notch was used to place the notches, the notches did not always end up at the correct location. This problem has been resolved. The Line/Curve function was not repeating, it would exit at the last prompt instead of looping back to the first prompt. This problem has been resolved.
System PDS on AE no longer displays a missing entry point error when running on system that has AccuMark 7.6.x installed. Removed the APDS-3D menu choices from the File menu since this product has been discontinued. When using a WACOM tablet with Pattern Design, it was not always possible to control movement and selections correctly. Pattern Design has been updated to work correctly with current WACOM tablet drivers. View If the Hide Seam button was toggled while in the Define Seam function, the pieces in the work area did not always update correctly. Now Seams display correctly when the Hide Seams button is turned ON/OFF when in Define Seam.

AccuMark 8.0.6 Software Changes and Enhancements Refer to the Whats New document in the AccuMark documentation folder. AccuMark 8.0.6 Changes since 8.0.5
Corrected problem that caused a box or drill symbol to appear in generic or hpgl plot data and cut data output. This occurred on pieces that were split or married in the marker. Resolved the involuntary closing of a rule table when the mouse cursor became a "+" after using the Change Sign function on a selected rule. Corrected Rule Table Sizes with a 'space' in the name. Previously, it gave an Invalid Data error. Resolved Order Process problems with models using half-piece sharing. Previously, it did not process the orders in version 8 if the pieces had 20 character names.
Pattern Design 8.0.6 Changes since 8.0.5
Darts Resolved an issue where using Rotate Dart on a specific piece would cause the PDS session to close. Saving a piece after using Fold Dart with the notch option and the Swap or Replace Line functions could cause a drill to appear at the dart apex. This has been corrected. Corrected an issue that sometimes caused notches on folded darts to disappear when the piece was saved. Darts folded in releases 8.0.4 and 8.0.5 using the notch option in fold dart displayed an extra drill in marking. While the drill was not visible in PDS, an extra point id and grade rule number would display in PDS. This issue has been corrected.
Important Note: If darts were folded in versions 8.0.4 or 8.0.5 using only the notch option or a combination of options, which included the notch option, please be aware of the following:
If using AccuMark 8.0.5 SPE or higher, pieces do not need to be resaved. PDS and MED will read them correctly on these versions.
If the data is retrieved onto AccuMark version 8.0.3 or earlier versions, it may display an extra drill in some portions of the system. Saving "problem" data in AccuMark 8.0.5 SPE or higher versions will result in the data looking correct in all versions.
Existing markers created in 8.0.4 or 8.0.5 with dart drill problems should be reprocessed on AccuMark 8.0.5 SPE or higher versions and will then display correctly.
Edit When running in V7 compatibility mode on the V8 software, Previous (P) and Next (X) attributes on notches were not preserved when the pieces were saved. This problem has been corrected. If P or X attributes are assigned in the V8 software the notch is immediately converted to a reference notch. When this data is saved in V7 mode, the P and X attributes will display on classic versions of the software.
Change Reference has been added to the AE version to allow editing of the notches after a P or X attribute is assigned. In Edit Piece Information, when selecting several pieces at one time, it was possible to accidentally rename a piece to Multiple.... This issue has been corrected. Edit Piece Information no longer allows a piece in the work area to be renamed to the same name as a piece in the piece menu. If the name entered matches one that already exists in the piece menu, the system prompts that a new name needs to be used.
File On some data, saving the piece caused the seam internals to convert to regular internal lines. This issue has been corrected.
Notch Resolved an issue where editing the notch number on specific data caused the notch angle to change. Saving specific data caused some notches to be removed. This has been corrected. Corrected a problem that caused some data to not display notches when retrieved into or copied to AccuMark V8 from version 7.
Seam Copy Piece No Seam on a piece with Seam Corners was positioning seam corner notches incorrectly. This has been corrected.
AccuMark 8.0.5 Software Changes and Enhancements Refer to the Whats New document in the AccuMark documentation folder. AccuMark 8.0.5 Changes since 8.0.4
AutoMark Added ability to print report and marker display together on one page. Previously, AutoMark with repeated construction pieces added a construct piece between every two. Now this error has been corrected.
Backup Fixed mismatch in AccuMark backup on days in week
Data Management When delete data from AccuMark Explorer, the dialog box terminology has been changed to be clearer.
Explorer The copy function is deleted from RMB on raw digitize data In old version, when delete a V7 Storage area, and restore it, it will come out a V8 storage area. Now it is fixed and it will not come out so many dos windows as well. In old version, Locked storage area can be deleted. Now it will not and will give an prompt message "storage area * is locked." Data type filter didn't work right in explorer in old version. Now it is fixed. Save As would stop if a name already existed. Now can state Yes to skipping a particular name that already exists and continue or Yes to All occurrences of duplicate names. Then the Save As will continue on with the rest of the items being created.
The data still shows after select Delete and then No. It was disappearing from list until refresh was done You can now successfully use drag & drop to copy data to a formatted floppy that does not already have the storage area structure on it. Previously you would get an error while trying to transfer the data. Backups now include the userid information. In previous version, if there's an error in renaming files, the source files would be deleted, now this problem is fixed.
General Limited the character number of storage area when press "New Item" button to create a new storage area in all "Open" and "Save" and "Save As" windows. Now the maximum number is 8. Installation The initial message that is displayed informing the user that an uninstallation will be performed first has been improved.
Lay Limits In 8.0.4, Tilt/Rotate limit will fill the value in the last opened lay limit table. Now it is resolved. Lay limits table can now handle 9999 number or row Different tilt limits for CW and CCW tilt have been implemented
Marker Plot Printing of the plot queue now has a wider name field so that the entire marker name will be printed. Annotation set to GRAIN did not plot where requested. The annotation is misplaced. This has been corrected The percentage value for scale in the marker plot parameter table was not storing the number after the decimal. Now the full value is storing
Marking You can now modify block / buffer rules interactively Updated to support more than 5 notch types per marker Scoop build down in the color matrix menu created refresh problems in the zoom window. This has been corrected Auto Process option is now activated in MED Added New Message when Block-Fuse is created and the Slid in the Marker if Overlaps are detected Now you can attach markers with different widths Markers with Invision options turned on sometimes crashed when sliding the piece matches. This has been corrected Corrected print problems from the Marker Making editor. Previously, the marking editor shut down when selecting the Print function In previous version, Copy Marker cannot place all pieces same as in original Marker, now this problem is fixed. In previous, Marker Making will crash when changing matching lines' options, now this is fixed.
Order A new Warning Message has been added when the Order Process uses a Block-Buffer Rule that is not defined in the Block Buffer Table
Pattern Conversion Wizard
When import style information a warning will be issued for missing creation date, creation time, author, standard version and curve tolerance if any of them are missing Now the Pattern Conversion Wizard will no longer overwrite the Rule Table when the settings to overwrite is set to No. Pattern Conversion Wizard will now issue a more specific error message if the model name does not exist instead of Control File in Use message When internals share an endpoint, export AAMA and ASTM was adding drills to both endpoints. It no longer does this. Notch on a curve were not keeping the correct angle after exporting in ASTM mode. This has been corrected If Import a .RUL file a warning message will now show if date or time is missing Removed prompt to click the Right Mouse button to continue after the conversion is completed. Now the prompt is to press Enter to continue only. Style export now issues a warning message that a notch type is not setup in the notch parameter table during processing and no notch is then put on the piece. ASTM export can now handle exporting U notches on pieces successfully. Import of style will now distinguish between left check and U notches properly on the pieces. When Importing dxf files into the system using a wildcard, if some of the files exceeded the number of characters allowed, PCW now reports the correctly. Notches are exporting to different layers to maintain the correct notch types at export time per ASTM standard. We can now export: Slit, V, T, Castle, U, Left Check and Right Check notches If accessing a locked storage area, the lookup for the model name was not giving a response. Now, there is still not a response, but if type in model name and process, then there is an error message about the storage area being locked.
Piece Plot In previous version, Plot Media of Piece Plot cannot update with Plot Destination's change (select a different queue name from Piece Plot form), now this is fixed. In previous version, Piece Plot will crash if there has a clerical error in the Size line of Piece Plot PT, now this is fixed, and it will report this error in Activity Log
Problem Report Utility The PRU has been updated so that customers could specify their own SMTP email gateway allowing them to use email addresses other than to gerbertechnology.com. If the default Gerber gateway IP address is used but a non-Gerber email address is specified, a warning message is displayed informing the user. The PRU can be used on the GT WAN in Europe with either mail server's IP address 172.16.249.100 or 172.16.248.100. In previous version, the email address field only accept no more than 32 characters, now it can accept up to 64 characters
Rule Table Printing a range of rules has been made possible now by selecting the from and to rule number in the Print Dialog box of a Rule Table It is no longer possible to create a rule table where the smallest size is duplicate. In previous version, Rule table--Size break values autofill error when change the smallest size and add some new size lines, now this is fixed.
System On some Windows XP systems when logging into the system and error would display after a while a message that SPNSRVNT.EXE has encountered a problem on startup. This has been resolved.
Pattern Design 8.0.5 Changes since 8.0.4
AM/MM Integration Corrected problems related to saving MicroMark styles. Previously, hidden internal lines would reappear after the styles were saved. AccuMark data is not affected by this change since internal lines should reappear after saving pieces/models. When assigning annotation indices to annotation lines on MicroMark data, Pattern Design now checks that the index is in the valid range of 0-255 and only allows one line per piece to have an index of zero. If the user does not assign an index the line will automatically be assigned an index of zero if one does not already exist in the piece; or, if a line with a 0 index already exists in the piece an index of 1 will be assigned. Saving a model with more than one A or B annotation line as a MicroMark style previously gave errors because the line indices were all set to zero. Now, when saving the first A or B annotation line is given an index of zero and the rest of the annotation lines are given an index of 1.
Darts Corrected a problem that would cause the PDS session to close when using Fold/Close Dart on specific data with seam corners on the dart.
Edit In previous releases, when a marquee was used to select points in Edit Point Info the Grade Rule field was inactive and the points could not be edited. This issue has been resolved. Edit Notch Info did not always clear the selection after apply or an arrow was pressed. This resulted in notches from previous selections also being edited or updated. Edit Notch Info has been updated to clear the selection after apply or an arrow button is used. This allows easier editing and is consistent with Edit Point Info. The View Undo Buffer function was previously grayed out in the Advanced Edition. It has now been removed from the menu.
Attributes X and P attributes were not preserved when data was saved to a V7 storage area. This problem has been resolved.
File Corrected a problem, which caused the words in some messages to be cut off and unreadable. When creating a new model and adding pieces it is now possible to store newly created models to devices and storage areas other than the default ones. When saving a model as a style, if a piece had the same name as the style name and Extract Style Name was checked in Preferences, the piece could be removed from the style because a blank name was created. This issue has been corrected. Pieces added to AccuMark models will no longer automatically be assigned a fabric code of A. However, if pieces are added to MicroMark style, then they will be assigned to material group A. Corrected a problem where selecting Cancel the Close PDS window, while in a function caused the Right Menu to no longer function.
Grade If Export Grade Rules is used and there are no grade rules to export there is now a message 'No grade rules were exported' to indicate that. Using Edit Delta on a newly mirrored rectangle would cause the system to stop responding. This problem has been resolved. MicroMark style data that had tangent notches with curve reference points assigned to the end of the line sometimes converted with the wrong point used as a reference when the data was converted or saved as an AccuMark model. This issue has been resolved.
Line Corrected display issues with directional arrows when adjusting a perimeter or internal line and selecting the end point of the line. Resolved an issue, which caused and Out of Range error when selecting the last point on the line and entering a negative value in the function Adjust Length. If Zoom was used after Apply in Move Line or Move Offset, a negative value enter would become a positive value. As a result the line would move in the wrong direction after Ok was selected. This problem has been resolved. Rotating both an internal and perimeter line at the same time about a point on the internal line would cause the PDS session to close if the internal line was selected first. This has been resolved.
If the lines to be swapped using Swap Line were .03 inches/.075 cm or less apart from each other, the lines would not always swap. This has been corrected. Resolved an issue where Create Perpendicular would cause the system to stop responding on specific data.
Measure The Distance 2 Point function was displaying 2 copies of the measurement. The function now displays the measurement one time. The selection of Measure/Distance 2 Point has been made consistent with the other functions. Corrected an issue where using the Exclude Region or Toggle options in Measure 2 PT/Measure Along Piece could cause the PDS session to close if no pieces were in the workarea or no points had been selected for measuring.
Notch Corrected a problem where notches with grade rules assigned to both the notch and the notch base point did not position correctly on the graded sizes when the piece was stacked and rotated. Resolved an issue for specific data, where adding positive seam allowance caused notches at a dart to move. On specific data, when the piece was flipped, the notches would disappear. This problem has been resolved. Notches were not displaying at the correct location on cutout 'fisheye' darts. This problem has been resolved.
Other Functions such as the create piece functions, which will prompt for a new piece name if the piece already exists in the model/style, were allowing invalid characters to be entered for piece names. This has been corrected. Under specific circumstances, using the full screen menu option when selecting and placing pieces into the workarea could cause the message Cannot zoom to selected area to appear. This issue has been corrected.
Piece When using the merge piece function on certain data, if the lines to be merged were within .03 of length the function would fail. This problem has been resolved. Combine/Merge pieces would prompt the user to enter a piece name twice even if a name had already been entered. This has been corrected. Resolved an issue where using Copy Piece No Seam on a piece with curved intersections was not smoothing the curves correctly. Updated Walk Piece so that it could be used successfully on specific data that caused problems in previous releases. In some cases, tracing pieces from internal lines was adding notches where none previously existed. This has been corrected. Corrected problems for specific data that caused the PDS session to close when attempting to open the data. Scale Piece has been updated to maintain existing grade rules already assigned to the piece. New, modified rules are no longer created. Combine/Merge piece caused the PDS session to hang when used on specific data while the graded nest was displayed. This issue has been corrected.
Point Corrected an issue for MicroMark data, where angled notches were not maintaining their angles correctly when saved.
If no pieces were in the work area, selecting the function Reduce Points would cause the PDS session to close. This has been corrected.
View In previous releases, selecting from the right side of the menu options in the top of the Custom Toolbar dialog caused the screen to scroll and the arrow keys needed to be used to display all the options again. The Custom Toolbar dialog will now display a scrollbar if there is not enough room to display all the choices. Corrected display of symbols which were sometimes doubling after using the Split Piece functions to split a piece. Changing the setting for Hide Seams in Preference did not apply the setting to the pieces in the work area immediately. This has been changed so that the seam automatically displays or hides as soon as the option is changed in Preferences/Options. The Show Base Size and Show Non-Base Size functions have been removed from the Advanced Edition menus.
AccuMark 8.0.4 Software Changes and Enhancements Refer to the Whats New document in the AccuMark documentation folder. AccuMark 8.0.4 Changes since 8.0.3
Corrected problem related to Move Data and Copy Data "with components" in AccuMark Explorer / Utilities. In previous version it did not copy the components.
In previous releases of AccuMark Version 8.x it was possible to create an Alphanumeric rule table with the same size listed more than one time. This has been corrected and the functionality is now consistent with Classic AccuMark.
If lower case letters were used to enter size names in the rule table, the growth amounts were not save for those sizes. The rule table will now change the characters to upper case while saving.
Corrected problem converting style pieces when the primary reference line of the piece is also the opposite grade axis and the piece needs to be reoriented.
Previous versions of Grade Checker would report mismatches, however when displaying the pieces in the viewer they looked accurate. Two changes have been made to improve this situation. Pieces that were reporting mismatches that had none will no longer report incorrectly. Also, color has been added to the viewer to highlight the region with the mismatch. See the What's New for additional information on the Viewer enhancements.
The Order editor gave an error when opening an existing order on a system with a target length, using German regional settings. This problem has been resolved.
HPGL plot data was not generated correctly. A comma (,) was used instead of a decimal (.). This problem has been resolved.
Pattern Design 8.0.4 Changes since 8.0.3
Darts The function Fold/Close Dart End would cause the system to stop responding on specific data. This problem has been resolved. Corrected an issue where Rotate Dart did not always rotate the dart correctly.
File Improved the function Edit Model in PDS. Previously after editing and closing a model, the system would stop responding for a while. This problem has been resolved.
Grade Corrected a Grade Measure problem. On several previous versions, Grade/Measure Distance to Notch and Distance 2 Point/Measure Along Perimeter would display measure line results when measuring along the beginning of a line. The measure function Distance to Notch was not giving correct measurements on non- base sizes. This problem has been resolved.
Notch Several functions which created new perimeter lines, such as Swap and Trace, were positioning notches so that they pointed to the outside of the piece. This problem has been resolved.
Piece If a piece was traced and one of the lines selected was from a mirror line, the notches on the mirror line would point to the outside of the piece. Now the notches are staying to the inside."
Seam Corrected an issue where certain combinations of seam settings and seam corner notch settings could cause the notch to be in slightly different locations on the graded sizes.
View Previously the grid would not display when pressing Apply Grid in Screen Layout when the Show Grid Button off. This problem is now resolved. AccuMark 8.0.3 Software Changes and Enhancements Refer to the Whats New document in the AccuMark documentation folder. AccuMark 8.0.3 Changes since 8.0.2
Annotation Added Capability NOT to Rotate annotations. This can be set up by adding the Environment Variable: NO_FLIP_ANNO=1. The variable must be written in Capital Letters. Block Buffer In previous version, Block Buffer maintained input of previous input. Now it is resolved. Corrected problems when deleting one rule in BLBU. Previously, it would always delete the
Page 28 of 55
last rule. Edit Digitize Edit Digitize-Undo insert row/insert row problems have been corrected. Explorer Save As has been corrected so invalid characters are no longer saved in the data item names. Increased the total number of storage areas. The previous internal limit was 200. Now it is unlimited. Save as w/Components can now be used with model piece name with Chinese characters. The data type field correctly displays the word Alteration when selected for filtering data. Previously it would display three dots. AccuMark Explorer now allows you to delete raw digitized data using the right mouse button and selecting delete. General Previously, Lconvert and dxf converter were untranslatable. They can now be translated.
AccuMark applications have been updated to with complete information in the Help, About boxes, including the application name, version, and copyright. User Environment Duplicate process parameters have been removed due to the re-introduction of the user environment parameter table: P-User Environ. For instance, in Order Process, the View, Preferences will bring up the UEPT instead of a separate list of process parameters. Installation When AccuMark is installed on a drive other than C: installation it will now prompt the user with a message about overwriting the AccuMark storage areas. Previously it did not. Added the c:\dxf for the ASTM/AAMA projects. DXF converter does not create any directories and the LConvert program calls xppermfix for its own created directories. When starting the installation the user may inadvertently double-click on the html page, thus launching a second install and causing problems with the installation. The installation now catches the second click and gives the message "this program is already running". Piece Plot Parameter Table Plot Single in P-Piece-Plot PT now generate internals on every size. Plot Nest still plots the internals once, if they have no grading. Model Corrected shift and ctrl key combinations in the model to fill in with select pieces. Corrected problems saving an order with Save As and when Order Name=Marker Name is checked. When this option is checked and Save As is used to change the Order Name, the marker name inside the order will update to the same name as the order. Laylimits The picture in Laylimits help was Markplot Form; not Laylimit Form. It' has been fixed. Order Processing Order Process has been corrected so the status message is correct when components are missing. Previously the message was incorrect.
Corrected problems with F-rotation points on pieces when order processing to a marker. Pieces converted from MicroMark will now process and rotate pieces with F-rotation lines correctly. Marking Corrected problems with Constructs disappearing when moving marker origin and resizing the Marker window down the marker. The disappearing of the Contructs from the temporary view, caused pieces to overlap the Constructs as end result. Point-to-point matching-Setting same plaid and relative stripe matching between 2 pts, Marker Making hung if valid matching location not found. This has been corrected. Marker Plot Plot to Existing Dos files now prompts for replacement of the existing plot file. The save dialog box no longer appears when closing the Marker plot window. Plot Bundle By Model now plots the first models, the second models and so on, each with the same Bundle Codes. Markers that contained split pieces from fixed piecing lines were closing the program when sent to the plotter. Now they process with no errors. Constructs are no longer affected by the shrink-stretch in Marker Plot. AccuMark cannot half piece sizes that are called from the model option. An error message will now generate should this condition occur. Previously, plotting a marker with Halfpiece created incorrect plot data with double pieces. Pattern Conversion Wizard If DXF file contained negative x or y values, the convert into AccuMark didn't complete. Now the conversion can handle negative coordinates. During conversion there used to be a limit to the number of errors that could occur. Now there is no limit. Conversion was leaving splits on lines where they weren't originally. Now the lines are split as they were initially. Corrected problems when an invalid device was accessed. An error message will also appear. Corrected problems with mirrored pieces not keeping the coordinates on the mirror line. That is fixed. If sample size was missing from rule table to import, AAMA would end. Now it will give an error message about missing sample size and not convert the table. If selected all rule tables with an '*' then after reading the error message, press enter on keyboard, the conversion will continue with next one. Warning messages will now be issued if the measurement units are not included in the DXF files for PCW. Import of PCW dxf file will now be stopped if style name or sample size information is not included. The log file will now display only if Pattern Conversion Wizard finds an error or warning message. ASTM exported pieces with different character size for different annotate piece messages. The characters Exported and Imported with the correct values.
If grade rule table does not exist in the storage area that the model is being exported from, then a dummy rule table of 0 bytes will no longer be created. If the rule table exists, it is exported along with the model. Conversion was not keeping all the line splits that were on the pieces originally. Now it is. Error 'Can't read grade rule table' occurred when try to export rule table A1-Ladies. Now the grade rule table exports without error.
PCW can now access and correctly read the names of SQL storage areas. ASTM- corrected problems with Grade Reference Lines not being Parallel. "Rule Data may be Incorrect" was being logged in to the LOG file without the name of the piece. If sample size existed but is not in the size range of the rule table, the conversion used to take the first size as a default. Instead, now there is an error message, and the conversion will stop. AAMA or ASTM export with 'Export as one line segment' was causing pieces when imported to crash PDS. Now it can be yes or no without closing out PDS. The overwrite raw digitized data flag now works. If set to "no" then PCW will not overwrite the data on Import. PCW will now give user an error if a piece name is longer than 20 characters. Export data is now reading the registry to include the character default setting from PDS with the dxf output file. If storage area is not found in PCW, then 'control file in use model name: xxx' will now report a more informative error message. Plotting / Winplot Corrected blank paper advance problems on the Infinity plotters. Corrected interpretation of metric values from DWG AutoCAD files. Rule Table Corrected grade rule validation when the maximum rule numbers are exceeded. The Grade Rule Editor Id will now only allow rule numbers up to 9999. Corrected Rule table values. They can now recover to original value after changing precision The rule table size line has been corrected to allow one size such as only size 1. In Classic it was possible to define a sizeline with the same size for the base, smallest, size step and break; when this size is the ONLY break. Security The new serialno.exe application will return other pertinent information in addition to the key number (see attached serialno.jpg). Serialno.exe is installed with PE/AE into the AccuMark directory and can be run manually. The Install License application has also been updated to display the same information. Pattern Design 8.0.3 Changes since 8.0.2 AccuMark to MicroMark Integration Invalid AccuMark Model data that is saved as a MicroMark style can cause corrupted style data. Putting a check in to detect the invalid AccuMark data and fixing the data have resolved this problem. Style Notes were not working correctly on Windows XP systems. This problem has been resolved. Darts The Rotate Dart function was not highlighting the rotation point with the correct symbol shape. This problem has been resolved. The Rotate Dart function would cause the system to stop responding if Cancel was selected after selecting the pivot point. This problem has been resolved.
Data Style data that contained flipped piece saved in version 2.0.7 or earlier, could have piece perimeters that were saved counter clockwise. The data now saves correctly. Edit Edit Point Info has been changed to prompt for the rule table less often. If the rule entered to assign to the piece exists in the piece already, or exist in the rule table assigned to the piece, the system will not prompt for the rule table. When using Edit Piece Info, if tracking between pieces, the original piece remained in the highlighted color. This problem has been resolved. If the thumbtack was used while the Edit Point/Notch/Line/Piece Info box was displayed, some functions were not selectable. This problem has been resolved. When changing a notch type in Edit Notch Info, the depth of the notch was not updating correctly. It now updates correctly when the notch type is changed. Clear All did not correctly in the Edit Notch Info function. This problem has been resolved. Edit Point Info did not filter grade points when using the Shift key selection mode and setting the Filter tab to Grade Points. Now Edit Point Info filters grade points correctly when the filter tab is set to grade points. In Edit Point Info, if points were selected using a marquis the system would stop responding. This problem has been resolved. In Edit Piece Info, the rule table field was previous enabled. It is now grayed out. Edit piece was not activating other fields when clicking next or previous button when the mouse stayed inside the info box. Now the fields are activated wherever the mouse is. File Corrected a problem where saving specific model data two times in a row sometimes caused the PDS session to close. In previous versions of Advanced Edition, Create New Storage Area in PDS (create new folder icon) created V8 storage areas. PDS in Advanced Edition now creates V7 storage areas. Saving or rotating a piece with measurement could cause directional lines of measurements to change position. This problem has been resolved. In release 8.0.2, styles containing invalid notch types could not be successfully saved as AccuMark models. Attempting to save would cause the PDS session to close. This issue has been corrected. If PDS was opened from AccuMark Explorer by selecting multiple pieces using the CTRL key the system would stop responding. This problem has been resolved. Data retrieved from a NETWORK storage area could not be saved when in v7 mode. This problem has been resolved. The title of the Duplicate Point Number prompt was changed from Silhouette 2000 to Pattern Design. In the Material Group field of the Piece Description page of the Style Description, the letter O was missing from the drop-down box. The letter O has been added to the list. Grade If the Copy Grade Rule function was used on a piece with seam lines could cause the system to stop responding. This problem has been resolved. In specific cases, using the function Copy Line could cause the PDS session to close. This issue has been resolved. The error message for unavailable grade rules did not display when a model is opened into PDS using AccuMark Explorer. This problem has been resolved. Corrected a problem that sometimes caused the OPP to be dropped from notches on MicroMark styles when they were retrieved into PDS.
Interface When not in a function, and Snap to Geom was ON, it was possible to activate the Beg, End and Distance fields in Value mode. This problem has now been resolved. If a particular model was opened from Explorer into PDS, the system would stop responding. This problem has been resolved. Keyboard shortcuts have been removed from menus of AE/GMS. Line Line/Oval Orient was not using angle measurement correctly when making a very large oval. Now the distance and angle measurement is in correct increments. Replace Line did not always give the correct results when many internals where selected or the internals were on the outside of the piece perimeter. This problem has been resolved. Corrected how perpendicular lines are created on a line when a notch is located at the same location. Sometimes the perpendicular line was actually parallel to the X-Axis instead of perpendicular to the line itself. Selecting a notch in the functions Create Blend or Offset Uneven sometimes caused the PDS session to close. In addition, moving a notch on a line that was created using either Create Blend, Offset Uneven or Copy line sometimes caused the PDS session to close. These issues have been resolved. Swap line sometimes gave the wrong result on specific data. This has been corrected. Measure Several inconsistencies existed in the Measure/Distance 2 Line function. These problems have been resolved. Miscellaneous When using the Measure/Perimeter 2 Point function on a flipped or rotated piece, two measurements would display, one flipped/rotated and the other correctly. This problem has been resolved. Notch In some cases, creating a new line using mirror line would cause the notches to point to the outside of the piece. This has been corrected. On specific style data, adding a variety of notch types could cause the PDS session to close when attempting to Save the style. Afterwards, the style could no longer be opened successfully. This issue has been corrected. Piece If a piece was traced and one of the lines selected was from a mirror line, the notches on the mirror line would point to the outside of the piece. Now the notches are staying to the inside. In Advanced Edition, after using the function Combine/Merge Piece, the resulting grading was not always correct. This problem has been resolved. The Add Mark and Add Notch options have been removed from Walk Piece in the Advanced Edition. In previous versions, Annotation would move to the outside of a newly traced piece. Now Annotation will keep the correct position after tracing. If an unfolded, mirrored piece was saved, the piece would be changed to a non-mirrored piece. This problem has been resolved. Create Trace was not always maintaining the shape of the traced geometry. This problem has been resolved. When Shrink/Stretch was used on a piece, the newly calculated grade rules were not being maintained on the ends of the seam corner lines. This problem has been resolved. If seam was added to a piece that had been traced counter-clockwise, the seam would be
Page 33 of 55
added to the wrong side of the piece. Positive seam would create sew lines and negative seam would create cut lines. This problem has been resolved. The Set and Rotate function would cause the system to stop responding if Cancel was selected after the third prompt. This problem has been resolved. Point Corrected a problem where using Move Single Point or Move point to move a standard notch sometimes caused the PDS session to close out. Pressing the left and mouse buttons together in space (not over any geometry) in the functions Add Point, Mark X Point, Digitize Line, 2 Pt Line, Perp Off Line or Circle Ctr Radius would cause the system to stop responding. This problem has been resolved. Preferences The Storage Area name field in Preferences on the Paths page was too short to see the entire Storage Area name. The field has been made longer.
Problem Report Utility An additional functional area, 'Alterations', has been added to the Problem Report Utility. If AutoSave was set ON in PDS 2.0.x, and then PDS 8.0 was used the setting for AutoSave was still ON even though the option was removed from Preferences. This problem has been resolved. Seam If using the Mitered Corner function in cursor mode, if the system could not find intersections between the miter line and the adjacent cut lines, a line would be drawn out in space. This problem has been resolved. View In previous releases, the function Show All Points was displaying smoothing points as intermediate points. Smoothing points are now displayed using circle symbols. Changing the setting for Hide Seams in Preference did not apply the setting to the pieces in the work area. Now the option in Preference and the button at the bottom of the workspace work consistently.
AccuMark 8.0.2 Software Changes and Enhancements Refer to the Whats New document in the AccuMark documentation folder. AccuMark 8.0.2 Changes since 8.0.1 AutoMark In AutoMark when Screen only was selected, the View Log function showed the temporary file, not the log file. Now View Log always shows the Log File. When Screen Only was selected, the temporary file that is written to wasn't being cleared, so previous processes write still being shown. Now before a Process Entry or a Process Job Queue Function is performed, the temporary file is cleared. In AutoMark, instead of prompting to overwrite for every marker that exists, a Checkbox was added to Overwrite Destination Marker if Exists. If the destination marker exists, this checkbox will dictate whether the marker gets overwritten or not.
Data Entry Forms Corrected problems with invalid characters getting saved in the model. A message will appear if an invalid character is detected. Data Management Dragging data from a floppy through the AccuMark Explorer would crash. This has been fixed. Right mouse click on selected Items + Drag and Drop, now does a scroll on Storage Area list in AccuMark Explorer. The Save As functionality on right mouse click allows now renaming multiple items at the same time. Edit Digitize Edit Digitize-Clear Contents in right mouse button didn't work. Now this issue is resolved.
Updates have been made to Edit Digitize when Save or Save As is used. Open from digitizer no longer automatically saves as stored digitized data, and leaves it up to the user to perform the save or save as. When saving as the same name, raw digitized data is removed from devq. When saving as a new name, raw digitized data remains in devq. A function has been added in Edit Digitize to allow the user to add a row after the last entry in the digitized data. Use the right mouse button and select Insert Row at End. Edit Digitize no longer automatically stores a copy of devq digitized data as Stored Digitize Data in the storage area. It is only stored if explicitly saved by the user. In Edit digitized data editor, the scroll bar did not work properly. Now it scrolls like it should. Some pieces would be split at every point after using ASTM conversion into AccuMark. Now only the corners are split. Digitize data that contained lower case characters were preventing the piece from being verified. Now it will verify regardless of upper case or lower case. Edit Digitize correctly uses the storage area specified in the digitize/verify options for verification (for example, to look in that storage area for the corresponding rule table). Edit Digitized has been improved to only store verified data upon success. Previously data was being saved as Stored Digitized Data when errors were encountered. Verify on digitized pieces has been updated to correctly display the digitized or verified piece names (they were getting mixed). Explorer Plot process options Local and DOS options were conflicting. When Dos File is Selected, the unused fields are grayed out. When a plot queue is selected, the Default Dos Directory field is grayed out. Export Zip with components has been updated to prompt the user when not all components exist. Selecting OK will continue and create the zip. Selecting Cancel will stop and delete the zip. General XP Permissions has been updated to no longer remove any permissions already set, but to just add Full Control to the Users group for AccuMark Family data and application directories and registry entries for Gerber key." Installation Added disk requirement to installation section of release notes. Initial installation on a Window NT machine caused error failed to register. It no longer fails to register.
The software installation properly processes the Back button. XP Permissions is automatically run from the Installation of AccuMark 8.0.2. It is no longer necessary to run it manually unless additional programs outside of the C:\userroot directory structure are installed. Examples: Lconvert and MTM. If running on a system as some other user than loaded software, then Replay was still running when opened PDS. Now replay doesn't run. Marker Plot Fixed problem with Side-by-side mini markers. Restarting a plot with side-by-side mini markers was causing bad plots. This problem has been resolved. Added default Marker-Plot PT field in Marker Plot form. Marker Plot process no longer shuts down when Die Cut Blocks option is selected in MarkerPlot-PT and Processing the marker plots. In Marker Plot, Lookup and marker selection has now a choice to plot as selected. Marking Corrected issues with retrieving markers. Previously, when opening one marker then another and another, the memory started to climb, resulting in marker making problems. Solved marking slowness when using Matrox Millennium graphic card. Change the "Troubleshooting settings to reduce the acceleration" in Windows Display Properties down by 1 setting. Copied markers were losing their status when transferred. Now whatever status they have they keep after copying to another storage area. Fixed overlaps caused when using BUTT. Model Piece selections keep the "as selected sequence. The ability to re-order pieces in the Model editor has been implemented. A group of pieces or a single piece can be selected, and then by dragging the left most edge of the entries the order can be changed. Order Processing The Order Process form has been updated to allow you to choose only one storage area for processing at a time. It will lock in the storage area name once entries have been entered in the form. This will avoid confusion and possible problems when using different source and destination locations when processing from many areas." Pattern Conversion Wizard If seam lines were on the outside of the piece before sending through the ASTM conversion, some of these lines were gone after converting back into AccuMark. The piece is now changed so that the cut lines are the perimeter shape and sew lines are internals labeled 's'. ASTM conversion will not import or export pieces with grade rules out of range. It will now prompt user to export the grade rules before continuing. When an AccuMark style with modified grade rules (rules with * or # signs) is exported to ASTM format the conversion will stop and record the message information into a log file." Corrected Export problems data that has modified grade rules. When ASTM interface recognizes this condition, a user will be asked to export grade rules. Now, grade information will be preserved after exporting grade rules. Previously, once pieces had lost some grading information, the grading didn't correspond with the original piece. A few grade points had no grade rule id assigned." Corrected the export of stripe lines in layer 9 to be two point lines instead of polylines.
Previously, they were converting to polylines. Automatic piece numbering was shown twice on the CONFIG screen. Changed the second display back to Starting Piece Number (for Automatic Numbering).Different configuration files (CNF files) are now created for versions 4.3.4 and 8.0.2 Version 8 will refer to ASTMCVT.CFG and version 4.3.4 will remain using AAMACVT.CFG Piece Plot Piece annotation was not following the grain line when selected in the Piece-Plot- Parameter table. Now it does. Added Paper Advance after deleting Active jobs. Look up in Piece Plot has now a choice to plot as selected. Piece Plot Parameter Table Fixed registry entry for device or storage area when they are blank. Rule Table Rule Table now prompts to save changes when updates are made and Exit (close) is chosen. If only typed in a rule number in a rule table and didn't activate the x or y columns the rule would be deleted when stored. Now it stays and fills in with zeroes. Improved the retrieval time on very large rule tables. A process dialog was also implemented to monitor the retrieval progress. If changed the grade option to Base up-down cumulative the grade rules were not changing correctly. Now they do. Size name in a rule table was not accepting / or \ and now it is if select alphanumeric first. When type over the sample size in grade rule table, it used to crash. It no longer crashes. Corrected problems when using Import Rule or PC-Rule. Previously, using this function two times repetitively to a new rule table crashed. Security The serialno.exe application now displays the message This Key Has Not Been Properly Programmed. Replacement Key Required" for keys with errors. View/Quick View When opened up View plot from the plotter queue, the window would open up behind the queue window. Now it opens on top."
Pattern Design 8.0.2 Changes since 8.0.1
AccuMark/MicroMark Integration Saving a Model as a Style has been updated to allow the piece category or description to be saved as the MicroMark message and piece flips defined in the model are also converted. See the What's New document for more information. For Style data, adding intersection notches and references notches to a piece sometimes caused the notch information to be removed. This has been corrected.
Notches were left on dart lines when an AccuMark model was saved as MicroMark model. This resulted in the dart being invalid in MicroMark PDS. This problem has been resolved. Now when a MicroMark style is saved as an AM model, the MM piece message can be saved in the category or piece description. There is a radio button choice on the style tab of Preferences. Save As with export rules will now export grade rules with 0,0 growth. On some data Save style would give the error message "Error grading piece." However the graded nest could be displayed correctly. This error message has been eliminated. Darts Corrected problem with Grade Rule changes after rotating a dart and keeping the Internals. Rotate dart was not showing the center apex line during function, now the highlighting is correct throughout the function. In some cases, using the function Fold Close Dart did not correctly add a grade point which caused the dart hat to be incorrect on some of the graded sizes. This has been corrected. Rotate dart on a piece with negative seam, system gave intersection error messages. This has been corrected.
Digitize Data Edit Digitize through PDS correctly uses the Path variable for verifying digitized data, and also properly displays the source path for the digitized item.
Edit When changing a grade rule on a piece with multiple grading lines, and canceling the function at the select grain line prompt, the graded nest would be displayed. Applying GLI no longer hangs if right button OK/Cancel is selected without selecting line in Edit Point Info. File On specific style data, the system was incorrectly prompting that notch base points needed to be added for notches on the mirror line. This has been corrected. Now notches viewed in PDS will update as soon as the notch table is stored. Corrected intersection errors on styles retrieved into Pattern Design and saved as an AccuMark Model. Dialog box for error message for invalid rules now is big enough for the whole message. When a piece is brought down to work area, if seam is not hidden and the seam allowance lines were updated, they appeared as modified lines. Exiting the window would bring up a warning message to store pieces since they had changed. The seam lines are not showing modified now and the warning message is not appearing now. Prefix in File/Create model was not allowing more than 10 characters in the model name. Now it will allow more and will truncate the model name with a warning message to the user if the name is over 20 characters. Create model/ Prefix will now stays on even after closing PDS window. Saving AccuMark data that had notches on the ends of dart lines as MicroMark style data caused the system to crash. This problem has been resolved. The opposite's quantities were staying in the piece menu after a style was saved to a model. Now the quantities are actually saving to the model and quantities are correct in the piece menu.
If save Style as a model and then go to Save as and give a new name but no to overwrite the piece, the system no longer crashes. PDS no longer crashes after modifying the Notch information on specific pieces and then selecting the function save. The save had prompted to reassign double point numbers. Corrected the display for MicroMark digitized files. Previously, File/Open/MicroMark Digitizer files did not display digitized files if a character followed the .R extension in the PDS lookup. For example: a file named 12345678.R90 did not display in the list. Grade When grading functions were used on the end of a mirror line, the grading was not always changed on both endpoints of the intersection. This problem has been resolved.
Copy Grade Rule has been added to the Advanced Edition.
On specific data, removing a seam corner could cause the intersection of the seam internals to shift on the graded sizes. This issue has been corrected. Corrected problems associated with opposite grade rules in MicroMark styles. Previously, Styles with Opposite grading were not storing the correct growth in the AccuMark pieces. Now the rule numbers become modified rules instead of the same rule as the rule on the other piece. If using the Export Rules option in Save As, modified rules are not successfully exported and the new rules assigned to the piece. This problem has been resolved. Grade/Export Rules was leaving invalid rules behind giving an error. Now there is no error. On specific data, swapping seam line would cause the seam line to shoot outside the piece. Corrected problems when Exporting Rules from the Grade menu and then saving the model. Previously, Save Model would close down pattern design. Grade Checker The Grade Checker has been improved to compare the smoothed geometry of V7 and V8 data. In previous versions the non-smoothed data was compared. Interface Corrected problems when using the Escape key. If the pop up size list box is displayed while piece is graded and Escape key is used to close it will close down PDS. Split piece shows direction arrows in value mode now. PDS now refers to the regional settings when using value input so data can be entered accordingly. Line On certain pieces, adding a digitized line would cause the smoothing of the perimeter line to change. This problem has been resolved. Offset Even on a seam line with Replace on used to crash PDS. Now no crash and no new line either. Offset Even on the closed internals would close out the PDS window with no messages. Using the same function on an internal line near the mirror line also resulted in a crash. In certain data, the functions Swap Line or Replace Line could cause the system to crash. This problem has been resolved. Move offset on piece with curved intersection - if there is a small line segment left - the offset won't work instead of giving an intersection error. Swap Line sometimes causes notches to be lost. This problem has been resolved.
Under certain conditions PDS would crash when using the function Clip line. In some cases it happened when grading crossed over the clipped line. This has been fixed. Corrected problems when using Replace Line to replace an internal with a perimeter line. In one example, Replace Line was closing down PDS when using the function to open a closed dart. Many functions were updated to drag internals using Preference - Internal Pattern. PDS now doesn't crash if you zoom or drag scroll bar when Move and Rotate Line. Measure The function Measure Dist 2 Line would cause the system to crash if Snap to Geometry on and an end of line point was selected. Two sets of Measurements were showing in several Measure functions if the font size is not the system default. Measure Perimeter 2 Pt/Measure Along Piece-dimension lines show correctly and measurements are correct also now. Miscellaneous If piece was listed in model editor multiple times, the warning message when opening model in PDS listed the same piece name multiple times. Now it will only list it once. Fixed the Reference locations and Pivot points' color display problem when the geometry is being dragged. Notch Corrected a display issue where notches would sometimes disappear from display when Hide Seam was used. The notches would then reappear when the screen was refreshed on another function was used. This has been corrected. Corrected a problem that sometimes caused notches to not display on seam internals when the line was split at the notch. Tangent notches on MicroMark pieces with line or seam extensions did not grade correctly when the data was saved as AccuMark data. This problem has been resolved. Now if the notch type is not valid for AccuMark, Retrieving the pieces will give a warning message about invalid notches and the notch value will display higher than 5 to show which notches need editing. When splitting a piece, if the splitting line has notches, the new pieces did not always have the original notches from the splitting line. On specific data, invalid notch angle information caused the notch to display incorrectly. This issue has been corrected by resetting the notch angle to the default 90 degrees so that the notch displays properly. Other Corrected problems with rotated annotation. Previously, the annotation would disappear when the OpenGL driver was used. Edit Digitize through PDS has been fixed to properly display the digitized commands in the Edit Digitize form when you try to open a digitized piece that has errors. Piece Pieces in a style that were mirrored and had seam defined for the first line of the piece would cause PDS to hang when the function Unfold Mirror was used in conjunction with the View All Sizes function. This has been corrected. In AE 8.0 version, the Flip Piece quadrant options were all grayed out. Now these options are enabled. Tracing pieces with notches that have duplicate point ids would cause the system to stop responding. This problem has been resolved.
Corrected the problem that Notch type is 2 not 1 being added to both ends of mirror line when using the function Mirror Piece. Corrected problems with the function Split Piece Vertical when a notch was in the middle of the splitting line. If line to split is at a perimeter intersection - the notches will be dropped after splitting. Now the notches stay. Corrected system problems with the Trace-Piece function. Sometimes the function would close down the Pattern Design session. Piece Split on Line was crashing if grading crossed lines and seam allowance is defined on the piece. Resolved an issue that caused the PDS session to close unexpectedly when Swap Sew/Cut was used on specific data. In some cases, tracing a piece caused the PDS session to stop responding. This issue has been corrected. Corrected problems with Split on Line. Previously, this function closed down PDS when the splitting line had a notch on the end of an internal. On certain data, if both the seam allowance and the graded nest were displayed, using Split Piece would cause the system to crash. This problem has been resolved. Corrected an issue where Trace Piece was not copying the grading of standard notches when the grading was applied to the notch rather than the base point. Added a message to Trace Piece to alert user if traced piece contains invalid grade rules. Point The location points for multiple points and drills were not showing when selected. They show now hollow red boxes. Corrected the problem that Point - Move Smooth functions leave selected lines in selected color if Cancel. Preferences Corrected the Preferences Paths so they will no longer change to the current selection. when Styles and models are opened from AccuMark Explorer. Previously, when you opened a style using AM/MM Explorer the Preferences/Options Paths/ Micromark Paths were being reset to the drive letter that you selected the style from instead of maintaining the original settings. When running PDS on a Windows XP system, the OK, Cancel, Save and Apply buttons were displayed too low in the Preferences dialog box. This problem has been resolved. Seam Square Corners can now be added to a corner that has seam allowance defined on one of the adjacent lines. Swap seam with Copy Grade Rule has been simplified to just copy the grade rules to the corresponding points on the seam internal. This fixes the reported problem of the grade being corrupted on flipped pieces. Will no longer get intersection errors when swapping a piece that has a 0 seam allowance amount adjacent to other lines that have seam defined. Added a correction for specific data where saving a piece with Seam Corners toggled off caused the piece to distort and get intersection errors. System If an invalid MicroMark path was input - it would give an I/o error. Now there is a default path if an invalid path is input.
The PDS splash screen allows any error messages encountered to be displayed on top of itself (so they are no longer hidden behind the splash screen). Sometimes after using PDS intensively for over one-half hour, it became slow, using up lots of memory, and eventually could crash. This problem has been resolved. When Replay is running and the operator is logged on as a user, the PDS screen would not respond to windows interface actions. Replay has been stopped. View Corrected problems when Point Numbers are displayed in PDS. Previously, the points were being saved and processed through to Marker Making as graphic debris. When opening data in PDS, the current window updated with all the pieces, then when brought them to work area updated the current piece box again. Now the current piece window is empty until piece(s) are brought into work area. The dimension ticks were changing scale when displayed and the scale of the work area was changed. This problem has been resolved.
AccuMark 8.0.1 Software Changes and Enhancements Refer to the Whats New document in the AccuMark documentation folder. AccuMark 8.0.1 Changes since 8.0.0
General Version logging has been added to the AccuMark applications for improvements to error reporting. The AccuMark Family Product CD now installs an "Install License" program that can be run from the LaunchPad or AccuMark V8 folder from the AccuMark Explorer, Utilities page. This utility easily copies your license file into the proper location for use by the AccuMark applications. Refer to the Whats New document for details.
The program (serialno.exe) to read the key number has been included and is now installed into the AccuMark folder on the hard drive. AutoMark AutoMark has been updated to properly prompt the user for overwrite when a destination marker name was manually entered. AutoMark now uses the correct storage area when using the right mouse button from Explorer on a marker and selecting Automark. The outline of the pieces in the marker were displaying as grey when in Preferences they were selected to display black. With nonstandard colors settings of windows display it seemed that the lines were not displaying. The colors are now correct. Corrected Automark Delete Job List function to prevent it from greying out the items. Previously, selecting "delete job list" when No was selected, would grey out "delete job list" and "process job list".
Launchpad Documentation links have been updated and are available through the LaunchPad, AccuMark V8 folders, and at the end of the install. Informational message indicating Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to read documents. Forms and Editors Improved lookups and F2 to reference the correct storage area. Corrected the laylimit editor to accept category entries beyond 150 lines. In the Order Editor, the Storage area name was sometimes greyed out or locked to the wrong storage area. It has been fixed. Corrected Save prompt in rule table when adding a Point Attribute 1-notch. Exiting the Rule Table will now prompt user to save changes. Changed Go to Rule to automatically position cursor in the field for size or rule number. Corrected problems with Undo function in Rule Table to correctly restore rule information after using Delete, Insert Rule and Clear Column. In the Rule Table editor, improved selection of the right mouse button functions and corrected the display of these selections so they no longer overlap the rule value display. When trying to Cut out a rule, it produced the value out of range error and it was not possible to continue without using end task. Corrected function so it is possible to continue after cutting a rule, however the "Value Out of Range" message will still appear when trying to save. An "empty" rule must be deleted before saving. Corrected grade rule table display errors when opening a rule table when another one is currently displayed. Previously, if the first rule table opened had some grade rules and the second rule table opened in the same rule table had more grade rules, the second rule table would show blank grade rules which displayed the message "Value out of Range (9 to 9999), prevent the user from continuing. Rule Table form has been updated to prompt the user to enter a valid rule number when a rule has data but no rule number. Previously if you tried to close without entering a rule number, the editor would crash. Corrected overwrite problems when using Import Rule function. Previously, Import made a copy of the rule rather than overwriting when expected. Corrected saving of a rule table with an un-named rule. Prompt no instructs user to enter a valid rule number. AM-Explorer When executing a File, New Model from a storage area in the AccuMark Explorer, now defaults to that storage area. Previously it was defaulting to the last access storage area. AccuMark Explorer has been updated to display the storage area version number as referenced by the software version (i.e. version 7 or 8). Order Process Corrected layrule process problems when split pieces were not placed in the marker. Layrule process now places all pieces with fixed piecing lines. Corrected overwrite problems in Orderload Process form from Launch pad . Previously, if marker name field had a different marker and Overwrite marker was set to no in preferences, the marker was overwritten without a warning or error. Corrected Order Process when Marker is created in source storage area and copied to the destination. Previously, there were problems with the destination storage area; sometimes closing down the program. Markermaking Corrected problem with Copy marker function on folded goods with folded pieces. Sometimes markermaking would shut down and generated splices would return to zero.
Corrected distorted grading in marker making on pieces with a grade rule applied to a point on the mirror line. In previous release grade points on the mirror line were incorrectly graded. Corrected problems encountered with matching lines used in 8.0 Match line markers made in 8.0 will need to be regenerated or ordered using 8.0.1 Plotting Piece Plot: Corrected the Character Size field to use the maximum defined range for Character Size. The range of .125-3.00 (imperial) will now accept 3.0 and the range of .318- 7.620 (metric) will accept 7.620
Pattern Design 8.0.1 Changes since 8.0.0
File Pattern Design or the Model form would crash if you tried to open more than 140 items at the same time. The crash has been eliminated, however, you may not be able to retrieve the entire selection at once due to the size of the items. AM/MM Integration Corrected a problem where saving a style as a model created modified rules when it should not have. The Notch Conversion Table on the Style tab in Preferences/Options has been updated to include the following changes. Default notch types for new installations are 1,2,3,4,5,5 instead of 5,1,2,3,4,5. Notch type conversions work when saving MicroMark data to AccuMark and when saving AccuMark to MicroMark. When saving an AccuMark Model as a MicroMark style, notch depths from the Notch Conversion Table are used only if the current notch depths are zero. Corrected a problem for a specific style where PDS prompted that notch base points were missing when attempting to save the style rather than when it was opened. Corrected a problem for specific MicroMark data where saving the style in PDS caused the grading to be different in Classic MicroMark PDS. Corrected a problem where using Fold Dart would sometime create unused graded rules. Edit Corrected a problem where invoking Edit Point information and tracking over a seam corner caused the PDS session to close. Edit Notch Information has been updated to display the notch depth for notches on AccuMark pieces. The Edit Info Dialog has been slightly enlarged so that the scroll bars for the tabs could be removed. This allows easier viewing and navigation within the dialog. Under certain circumstances, when tracking was selected from the user input the buttons would display partially off the bottom edge of the dialog. This issue has been corrected. Corrected a problem where selecting a point with an R attribute in Edit Point Information sometimes caused the PDS session to close. File When using Save as and switching the option from saving a piece to saving a model/style, the system would prompt twice to select the model/style name to save. This issue has been corrected.
Corrected a problem for specific piece data where the seam internals distorted when the piece was saved. Corrected a problem where intersection errors would display repeatedly for specific data when it was placed into the work area. Corrected a problem for specific data where a piece created by merging two existing pieces would not save. Grade Measure 2 PT/Measure Straight was not drawing a dimension line to indicate where the measurement was taken. This issue has been corrected. In version 8.0 it was not possible to select a location other than the default path when assigning a new grade rule table. This issue has been corrected. In version 8.0.0, seam corners points would display double symbols on the graded sizes. This issue has been corrected. Assigning of point id's to end points was updated to be consistent with Classic AccuMark. Grade Checker Corrected a problem where specific piece data was causing the Grade Checker to close out. The Grade Checker has been enhanced so that multiple sizes may be selected and viewed together. Translation support has been added for the GradeChecker/GradeViewer utility. Enhancements have been made for Point Count Mismatch reporting in the Grade Checker. The Grade Checker has been updated so that points that are within tolerance of the shape are not included in the count. The checker also verifies that points with ID's or notches are within tolerance. The Grade Checker utility has been enhanced to include support for Metric. In previous releases the tolerance could only be specified in Imperial amounts. The Grade Checker utility has been updated to support checking of pieces with graded grain lines. The Grade Checker has been updated so that the settings selected by the user are remembered and preset the next time Grade Checker is used. In the previous version, the values needed to be selected each time Grade Checker was opened. Grade Checker has been updated so that pieces with positive seam and piece that do not grade are no included in the mismatch count. Display In previous releases, dimensioning lines did not always display correctly for some functions. Several functions have been updated to display dimensioning lines correctly. For example, pleat and fullness functions now correctly display the dimensioning lines at the pivot point when in value mode and angle is selected. Lines Corrected a problem in Rotate Line where the PDS session would close if a perimeter line was selected for rotation and the rotation point was a point on the seam internal. In some cases, the 'Move Multi Line in Reverse' option was not working. This issue has been corrected. Corrected a problem where Merge Line was causing the PDS session to close when used on specific data. The ability to use Curved Intersection on an Assym Folded piece, as was possible in Classic AccuMark, has been implemented in PDS.
Misc. Corrected a problem where the thumbtacks changed size when zoom in or zoom out was used to change the scale and the graphic renderer was set to OpenGL. Translation support has been added for the notch table displayed using the function File/Edit Parameter Tables/Notch. Notch Corrected a problem where notches with delta rules on graded internals did not display after using Copy Piece No Seam on the piece. Pieces with F Rotation and Reference notches distorted the perimeter shape when F Rotation was displayed. This issue has been corrected. Corrected a problem where the PDS session stopped responding if a line was split at a notch, and the display was then set to unclipped and the line was merged back together. PDS has been updated to display notches either as symbols, as in Classic AccuMark, or to display the actual notch depth. Use the new option Show Actual Notch Depth on the display tab of Preferences/Options to control how notches are displayed. Notches on the perimeter lines at the ends of the mirrored lines were not angled correctly in marking or plotting. This problem has been resolved. Other The table of contents in Help has been updated to display the help topic for Envelop Corner. When saving a style, if the default path was invalid, the title bar of the message displayed the wrong title for the message. This issue has been corrected. Piece Trace will now open in the last option selected as well as defaulting to normal first. Corrected a problem where the orientation symbol was not displaying in the selected color when the piece was selected. Walk Piece was not always applying the notch type specified. This issue has been corrected. Corrected a problem for specific data where saving a piece recently created by merging two existing pieces caused the PDS session to close. Corrected a problem where unfolding a specific mirrored piece caused the PDS session to close. Corrected a problem for specific data where a notch that had an X attribute did not display on the smallest size. Plot - PDS In release 8.0, a new media could not be selected from the Plot Form. This has been corrected. Seam Under some circumstances, using Copy Piece No Seam would result in reference notches not displaying on the internal lines created from the seam internals on the original piece. This issue has been corrected. Corrected a problem where the seam internal would not draw correctly on a curved intersection when negative seam was applied. Corrected a problem where seam corners sometimes applied an N attribute, which would change the shape of the adjacent line. PDS no longer allows a style to be saved when the digitized boundary is different than the current boundary. MicroMark does not allow the digitized boundary and the current boundary to be different, so this change is consistent with Classic MicroMark. When this
Page 46 of 55
condition is found, PDS alerts the user and indicates that 'Swap Sew/Cut' or 'Fix Bound Type' may be used to update the pieces so that the style may be saved. In previous releases styles could be saved when the boundaries did not match. When retrieved into MicroMark PDS, PDS attempted to make the boundaries match and the pieces displayed as modified. In some cases, this also resulted in incorrect geometry in marking. The Advanced Edition has been updated to always use seam settings of 'Grade Seam/Corners', 'AutoUpdate Seam' on, 'Seam Extensions' off, 'Adjust Seam Grading' off, regardless of previously installed software versions or registry settings. When running in V7 compatibility mode, the Fix Seam Corners checkbox is not applicable and is now displayed grayed out. View In version 8.0.0., View Point Attributes took a long time to display the attributes on screen. This issue has been corrected. AutoSave has been removed from Preferences since new methods of working and using Pattern Design often conflict with AutoSave and cause it to not work properly. If you have been working successfully with this option, the option may still be triggered using a command line switch. An easy way to do this is to create a shortcut to the Sil2000.exe, which is located where you installed AccuMark 8.0. After the shortcut is created, right button on the shortcut and select properties. On the shortcut tab, add a '-v' in the 'target' field after the path outside of any quotes. For example, D:\Program Files\Gerber Technology\AccuMark V8\Silhouette 2000\sil2000.exe -v. When you run Pattern Design from this shortcut, the AutoSave options will display on the bottom of the General Tab in Preferences/Options. Corrected a display problem where a point previously highlighted with the mouse button down would stay highlighted after the mouse was moved away. The option 'Make new renderer the default renderer' has been removed from the Graphics tab of preferences. 'Save' may now be used to make a newly selected renderer the default. Color Fill was not displaying correctly for pieces with perimeters that touched in places, such as dart tips touching or overlapping. This issue has been corrected. The AccuMark Piece compatibility options on the General tab of Preferences/Options have been changed from a single checkbox to two radio button choices to make the options easier to understand. Corrected a problem where drill symbols did not display when symbols were turned off in preferences. AccuMark 8.0.0 Changes since 7.7.1
LaunchPad Added title descriptions for each icon in LaunchPad Editors The editors have been changed to confine lookups to the storage area of the first selected data item in that storage area. Previously, it was possible to select data items from other storage areas which resulted in processing errors. The Order Editor in a non-English operating system had some difficulties with characters in upper and lower case combinations. Corrected keyboard input to change all text to upper case characters once saved. AM-Explorer Generate Marker did not refresh the display list in order after processing. Corrected function to display new markers automatically in correct order of the list.
Added a warning message to the AccuMark Utilities - Delete Storage Area function to display Are You Sure You Want To Delete Storage Area:xxx? Generate Marker was misleading when Overwrite Marker option was set to No. Now a process dialog box will display No Overwrite. Plotting Bump lines previously did not annotate on the MicroJet plotter. This has been corrected. Corrected HPGL and Generic plot output problems. When plots were processed as DOS files they were all created as generic plots. Plot process to a DOS file will now process the correct files for generic and HPGL formats. Placed pieces in a marker were showing up misplaced in the marker plot. This occurred when a piece line was too close to the starting point of the piece. Problem was corrected in Markermaking. Old markers with this problem need to be re-made and stored. New markers are handled correctly. Corrected View Plot and Plot output inconsistencies with the MSQ border annotation.
Pattern Design Implemented new security for support under AccuMark Advanced 8.0 Darts Rotate Dart now maintains the grading by using the grade rule of the rotation point on the dart tip. This result is consistent with Classic PDS and maintains the geometry correctly. Fold/Close Dart no longer causes the PDS session to close when PDS cannot find intersections for the dart fold lines. The Rotate Dart function caused the PDS application to close if the pivot point was on top of the open point. This problem has been corrected. A new error message has been added to Fold/Close Dart when the dart can not be physically folded due to the geometry shape. Dart functions now have the option to select internals to move. Selecting internals when prompted allows the internals to move relative to the dart as it is manipulated. This is similar to the option in fullness function. Data Related Corrected a problem on specific data that was causing intersection errors to occur or PDS to close when the piece was placed in the PDS workspace. Resolved a problem with specific piece data that could not be opened in PDS until it was retrieved and saved in Classic PDS. Specific data generated intersection errors when saved. This problem has been resolved. Edit The arrow keys on the keyboard can now be used to track around a piece in Edit Point Info, Edit Notch Info, and Edit Line Info. The down arrow goes to the next point and the up arrow goes to the previous point. The left and right arrows are used to move back and forth within a text field. The cursor and focus remain in the last field edited after the Apply button is used or another point is selected. In Edit Point or Line Info, it was possible to select an editable field while drawing a selection box. This would cause errors when editing the data. This problem has been resolved. Automatic Point and Piece tracking was not working correctly when using Edit Point Info or Edit Piece Info and selecting the Track button. This problem has now been resolved.
If a piece had multiple Grade lines, the point filters could not be used to change the grade rule of multiple points. This problem has been resolved. Corrected a problem with Edit Point/Line/Piece information where using the thumbtack to pin the dialog open, making several edits and then exiting the dialog caused the PDS session to exit. Using the thumbtack in Edit Point Information and then canceling out caused the PDS session to close. This issue has been corrected. File In previous releases, invalid characters such as '+' could be entered as part of a piece name. The AccuMark does not allow invalid characters and they would cause problems in the rest of the system. Invalid characters are no longer permitted to be entered as part of a piece name. Using Save As on a model now maintains the model information such as fabric codes, flips and comments. New, consolidated messages display when pieces from the model being retrieved do not exist on disk or already exist in the piece menu. Previously, a message displayed for each piece. The new messages display once and list all the piece names in one message. When using Close Model/Style, the device and path now display as read only fields. Grade In previous releases, some data that only had grading defined for one end of the mirror line would display differently between PDS and Plotting. This issue has been resolved. Create Nest no longer causes the PDS session to close if many additional points are chosen for grade points. The Grade/Measure Line function would give incorrect results on MicroMark pieces that had notch base points after the notch instead of before the notch. This problem has been resolved. Corrected a problem where placing the pieces into the work area individually or as a group gave different results for the graded sizes. This issue occurred on specific data with specific seam settings. On some data the orientation of the grain line would change a slight amount when the piece was saved. This problem has been resolved. The Show Non-Base Size function has been removed. The functions Piece/Create Piece/Create Graded Size and Grade/Edit Size Line/Change Base Size are available to the user. Selecting a large number of points during the 'additional grade points' prompt in the Create Nest function would cause the PDS application to close. This problem has been resolved. Mirrored pieces that only had grading on one end of the mirror line sometimes displayed between PDS and Plotting. This issue has been resolved. electing smoothing points during the 'additional grade points' prompt in the Create Nest function would cause the PDS application to close. This problem has been resolved. Notch placement was incorrect when X and P attributes were used to control grading. This problem only occurred on some data and only when in the swapped state. This issue has been resolved. In previous releases, using Show Non-Base Size on a piece with Z or R stacking attributes did not give the correct results. The function Create Graded Size may be uses with the Z and R stacking attributes and give the correct display. Lines On specific data, using replace line would cause the PDS session to close unexpectedly. This problem has been corrected.
Internal Cutouts, graded or non-graded, now process correctly for marking. In previous releases, internal cutouts that were graded did not always display in marking. While working with Move Point functions the Beg., End., and Dist. fields were not displaying the line lengths. This has been corrected. Corrected a problem occurring on specific data, where using Replace or Swap Line would cause a notch to move to another line. On specific data, merging multiple internal lines at one time caused the PDS session to close. This issue has been corrected. The PDS session was closing when trying to split a line and the Tracking Information window was opened and locked on the screen. This issue has been resolved. In specific cases, notches moved when a line was split or smoothing was toggled on and off. These issues no longer occur with the new treatment of notches. Measure Occasionally when the Measure/Line function was used and then the piece was moved in the work area, additional measurement text was left behind in the work area. This problem has been resolved. The Measure/Perimeter 2 Point function would cause the application to close if the Zoom function was used between the first and second point selection. This problem has been corrected. Piece The Trace function now displays the function name Trace properly when the function is activated from the dropdown menu, hotkeys, or custom toolbar/ Tracing a piece with the graded nest displayed sometimes resulted in the error pieces too far apart. This problem no longer occurs. The function name displayed at the top of the Function Option area has been changed from Normal-Sew to Trace when in the Create Piece/Trace function. In some cases, using Show Non-Base Size and then unfolding a mirrored piece did not always display correctly. Using the new function Create Graded Size resolves this issue. Walk Piece now reads the System Preferences for Metric and Imperial and will display the values in the appropriate format. Tracing a piece with stacking applied did not always give the correct graded result. This issue has been resolved. Piece Menu Piece to menu has been corrected so that the display is refreshed when using Piece to Menu is used and point numbers are also displayed. Pieces would no longer display in modified color after using Piece to Menu pieces. This problem has been resolved. In previous releases, renaming a piece in a model to a piece name that already existed in the storage area would result in the wrong geometry being retrieved if a second copy of the renamed piece was placed into the work area. This has been corrected. If a piece is renames, it is marked as modified. Also, for models, if a piece is renamed to a name that already exists in the storage area, saving the model will automatically overwrite the piece with the same name with the one from the model. On specific data, saving a newly traced piece caused some internal lines to disappear. This problem has been corrected. Points The X and Y value fields, which are not applicable for notches, have been disabled in Add Notch.
Print Print has been updated so that the grade rules print at the same size, relative to the piece, that they are displayed in PDS. Print Preview has been updated so that clicking Exit no longer causes the PDS session to close. Seam The Function Options for notches were removed from the Remove Corner function because they were not applicable. In previous releases, if Swap line was used and the resulting piece had less than 3 perimeter line, the PDS session would close. This issue has been corrected. If the resulting piece will have less than 3 perimeter lines, PDS will automatically split a line so that 3 perimeter lines exist. When the function Copy Piece No Seam was used on a piece that had Seam Corners with notches, the notches would reposition on the copied piece. This problem has been resolved. The function Grade/Measure Line did not work correctly on some data with Seam Corners. An error message would be displayed, or the application would close. This problem has been resolved. Duplicate notches and intersections errors were appearing for specific data when using certain seam settings. This issue has been corrected. Normally when a piece is modified, the geometry is displayed in the modified color as defined in Preferences. When the Swap Sew/Cut function was used the geometry did not changed color. This problem has been resolved and piece display in the modified color after the Swap Sew/Cut function is used. Intersections on the base size of specific data moved when swap sew/cut was used. This issue no longer occurs. In previous releases, using Swap Sew/Cut could cause the grading on the piece to change. This issue only affected specific data using certain seam settings, and it has been corrected. The smoothing of seam allowance internals has been improved so that the seam internals will remain parallel to the perimeter of the piece. Certain data with few intermediate points used to define a curve could display sew and cut lines that were not parallel. This problem has been resolved. View Pressing the Snap to Geom button when no workspaces are open no longer causes the PDS session to close. In previous releases, some functions did not always show the selected object (such as a drill) in the selected color. This issue has been corrected. In some functions, graphics were not refreshing properly. This issue has been resolved. Resizing the PDS window now makes the workspace larger or smaller, maintaining the scale of the pieces, rather than increasing or decreasing the display of the pieces to fit the workspace. The system was allowing to enter a comma in the Value Input fields. Now, if a comma is entered an Invalid numeric expression message is displayed. After clicking OK, the field where the comma was entered is blank and a new value has to be entered to complete the function. If Show Non-Base size was used and then the growth of a notch point was edited to exceed the growth of the line, Show Non-Base and Show Base Size could not display another graded size or the base size properly. This problem no longer occurs. Notches may now be located on different lines in different sizes. Selecting Verify by Label when there are no pieces in the work area no longer causes the PDS session to close.
If a category title was dragged into the work area from the Custom Toolbar dialog the application would close. This problem has been resolved. Prefix Style Name has been updated to only prefix the style name once even if Extract Style name is not selected. Using Show Non-Base Size on pieces with X and P attributes did give consistent results. This issue no longer occurs. Corrected an issue where Show Non-Base Size altered the growth amount for a grade rule. This problem only occurred on data with two different grade rules at an intersection. Refresh display has been enhanced. It may now be used while in another function. The splash screen displayed when PDS opens up has been changed. Using the wheel button on the mouse to scroll sometimes caused the intersections on pieces to shift. This issue occurred on specific data and has been resolved. Notch positions are correctly maintained when using the middle wheel of the mouse to scroll. This issue affected specific data.
Changes since 7.7.0
Annotation The lookup feature for the Annotation field was not activated on an inserted row. This issue has been resolved. Automark Edit A button has been added show the job list called "View Job Queue". Automark properly saves the destination marker after process, whether it is the same name as the source marker, or to a new marker name. Title bar reflects the correct storage area name for the marker being opened (previously if you select a marker from another storage area it did not update the title bar). Automark Edit properly closes just the print preview window (previously the entire editor would close also). Misspelled word corrected in the status messages "Error opening Automark Queue". Allow editing of erroneous data in a field when process is selected. Previously if an invalid value was entered and Process was selected, it gave an error message, but processed the data with a 0 value. The Piece Goods Cost field is automatically closed when process is selected (the user does not have to use the enter key). Automark Edit correctly calculates and displays the marker width, length and utilization to the screen and/or in the log. Fixed problem when using "process entry" several times (no longer hangs system). Fixed error when the Automark job queue contains at least 3 entries, and you select view queue, and then you choose OK to return to the program. Tools icons now match to their text tip. Block Buffer The Go To Rule feature properly displays the requested rule (previously it was always going to the last rule). Edit Digitize The Edit Digitize form correctly displays the menu item \ (was incorrectly displaying as \' ). Add a function "retrieve original" to retrieve the original digitized data.
Add "go to rule #" function Using Undo after Delete Row properly returns the deleted row. The Save function no longer displays the lookup dialog when prompting to save changes for the edited data. Explorer & Find Corrected Copy and Move data functions when copying a model or order with components from one storage area to another storage area. Copy will now check for existing pieces and data item components in the designated storage area. The AccuMark / MicroMark Explorer is now called the AccuMark Explorer. AccuMark Explorer now allows you to send data to Mail Recipient if the option was enabled during the installation. The AccuMark Explorer allows you to create storage area names in Chinese (on Chinese operating systems). View Plot on Windows XP operating systems properly displays PIECE plots with Tool or Entity parameters. Copy model has been implemented in the AccuMark Explorer. Export The Export dialog box now has an option to include components in the zip file. This capability is also available in the Copy function (position the mouse over a folder name in the All Folders window and use Paste Components). The option is not available when pasting in the Contents window. Available for AccuMark data only. General Corrected decimal precision rounding problems. The system correctly displays the appropriate values when the precision is changed (changing the precision determines the number of decimal places to be displayed). The Screen no longer flashes when tab fields are removed while closing the form. Installation The "Check System Requirements" option properly indicates Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 and the Hotfix or Service Pack3 is installed (previously it could not find SP3). LaunchPad Documentation is now accessible from the Launch Pad on NT operating systems If the Launch Pad was opened more than once on Windows 2000 systems, and both were docked to the side of the desktop windows using the "-->", the entire desktop display got reduced to a very small portion to the side of the Launch Pad. This problem has been resolved. Implemented Import and Export from the Launch Pad that saves toolbars and preferences. You can import to another system, but make sure to keep all three checkboxes checked to ensure custom settings are the same from one pc to another. Laylimits Delete row improperly caused a "Mandatory field, entry required" error message to appear when Save was selected. This has been resolved. Laylimits will prompt to save changes if edits have been made and you choose X to close the form. You are now able to delete the DEFAULT row using the right mouse functionality when selecting cells from multiple rows.
Marker Plot Corrected Marker Plot Save option. Selecting the Save checkbox will now save the plot file in the storage area (Plot Destination = Local). Can be saved with the same name as the marker or with a new plot name. The labels 0-15 have been added to the drop down selections for the Label column in the Label Tool Mappings section. Marking The rounding of metric values for the length was not accurate in Marker Making. For example a length of 4 meters appears in the status window as 3 meters 100 cm. (100cm=1 meter). This issue has been resolved. Selecting the 'X' in the title bar of the Marker Making window could cause the system to stop responding. This problem has been resolved. Incorporated additional Bundles functionality, including unplace bundle, retrieve bundle, flip bundle, and flip to original. In marker making, when a marker containing constructs was closed, a crash could occur. This problem has been corrected In marker making, when "folding adds piece" and "piece view" are both set, the wrong pieces would show in the piece view. This problem has been corrected. If a corrupt marker was opened (a marker with a size of 0 bytes) another marker was displayed in marking. Checks have been added to prevent this from occurring. In some cases, if a marker had become corrupt, pieces labeled a certain size were actually a different size in the marker. This problem has been resolved. A new option has been added to be able to highlight just the piece perimeter or the entire filled piece. Matching Default setting of plaid or stripe type is set to "none" (previously it was being set to "relative"). Order Previously you would get an error message if you did not enter either a lower left or upper right coordinate for constructs. The Help message states that you could use first two, any three or all four coordinates to define the construct. This has been resolved. After an order is opened, the message correctly displays the Ready status (previously the message displayed "Processing, Please Wait"). Order Process Corrected problem with split piece seam amount specified in the order when Preferences is set to Metric. It is now properly maintained in marker making. Piece Plot Piece plot on AP plotters with stacking on will plot to completion (previously there were instances when the plotter would stop after plotting 3 pages). Rule Table Selecting Help in the Rule Table properly displays the appropriate information (previously the piece plot parameter information was being displayed). Sometimes when adding additional sizes to the size line, the form would improperly display the new sizes after a close & open of the rule table. This has been fixed. Copy and Paste in the Rules page gave an error message that the rule number was out of range, but did not allow you to edit and correct the field. This has been fixed.
After adding a new rule to a table, and then trying to import that new rule into a second table, you would get the error message "Incompatible Size line". This has been resolved. Autofill properly fills the remaining rows with the value entered in the row above (previously the rows were being filled with 0). Changing the grade options from Small-Large Incremental to Base Up-Down Incremental or to Base Up-Down Cumulative properly converts the values in the rule fields. Starting dialog size is now large enough to display the first three columns on rules tab. Previously when the rules tab is selected the columns on the right side were cropped. Creating a rule table with numeric sizes, using 1 as the smallest size, a size step of 2, and only two size breaks that included the base size and one other size incorrectly gave the error message for an incorrect size line. This issue has been resolved. The Rule Table now verifies data entered in the sizes and size breaks before allowing the user to enter the Rules tab or Save. Rule Table now allows the user to create a table with only two size breaks. The functions "go to rule", "go to size", Next and Previous rule from the toolbar have been implemented. Fixed the hot key "ctrl+I" for Import Rule (was executing an Insert Rule). When Searching for a rule and a match rule found, if you stop the search it will now keep the rule found as the current rule (before it was returning to the first rule) When executing Go To Rule for a rule and a match rule found, if you stop the process it will now keep the go to rule as the current rule (before it was returning to the first rule). If any invalid rule number was entered the message "Value out of range: 0-9999" would be displayed. This has been corrected to display the correct range for the rule numbers. The rule table performs checks on the size line to verify when the base size must be listed in the size line. For example, the Base Size doesn't have to exist in the Size Breaks List ONLY if the SizeType is NUMERIC and the grading method is SMALL-LARGE INCREMENTAL. ALL other cases, the base size must be listed in the size breaks, or an error is reported. User Environment The precision and data is maintained when switching the number of decimal places. Previously rounding could occur thus changing the data in the field. Corrected the seam amount (metric) for split pieces in marker making to reflect the same value specified in the Order Options.
