Ongoing events and travel news of note:
Now Open: Beyond the Drawing Board FLW and Monona Terrace Exhibit Madison
It took sixty years for Madison to decide to build the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Monona Terrace
Convention Center. Wright and his staff spent more than 63,000 hours over 21 years on the project and
Wrights compensation was $250. You might say it was a good buy. Wrights time spent on the Monona
Terrace was a testament to his passion for this area and his desire to bridge Lake Monona with
downtown. Now Beyond the Drawing Board, the new multimedia gallery at Monona Terrace tells the
controversial story of Madisons long awaited dream civic center and the passion of Americas
greatest architect. The gallery includes photos, videos, audio clips and artifacts, is free and open to the
public on level 3 West, below the Gift Shop. The gallery is open daily during building hours, 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. www.mononaterrace.com PH: 608-261-4000
