Job Description

• Under direction, improve the efficiency and oversight for garage operations and manage agreements
with vendors and other city agencies.
• Ensure adherence to automotive service contracts and assist with the analyses of Citywide Services
and reporting of fleet operations, tracking and accidents.
• Administer fleet consolidation initiatives, including Zipcar and FastFleet.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs); auto body, engine, transmission and
warranty issues; recalls and other repairs. Work with Operations and borough coordinators to
schedule vehicle inspections.
• Monitor the work of repair vendors and fleet repair partnerships with other city agencies. Track out-
of-service vehicles and identify vehicles for replacement.
• Manage contract costs and ensure that contractors bill Parks properly and according to contract
specifications. Maintain repair and billing records and coordinate billing with Parks Purchasing unit.
• Inspect contractor facilities and assess their ability to perform repairs properly and in a timely
manner.
• Advise management of vehicle repair contract questions.
• Promote vehicle best practices and green fleet initiatives, such as “Green Garages.”
• Supervise complex projects that require prompt attention and resolution.
• Enforce compliance with agency rules, regulations, standards of conduct and vehicle operating
procedures.

Minimum Qual Requirements

1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of
Education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time experience,
purchasing or inspecting supplies, materials and/or products such as: paints, linoleum, hose, sand,
brick, wire, shades, hardware and tools; plumbing, electrical machine shop, building and cleaning
supplies; furnishings and furniture; lumber and wood related products; metals; equipment; foods,

drugs, and chemicals; fuel; textiles; printing, stationery and other sundry items. At least one year of
this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity; or

2. An associate degree from an accredited college, plus four years of satisfactory full time experience
as described in "1" above, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or

3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, plus two years of satisfactory full-time
satisfactory experience as described in "1" above, at least one year of which must have been in a
supervisory capacity; or

4. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to '1", "2" or "3" above.
Undergraduate college credit may be substituted for experience on the basis of 45 semester credits
from an accredited college for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high
school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least two years of satisfactory full-time experience
as described in "1" above, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Preferred Skills

1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Experience with contracts and budgets.
3. Excellent administrative, customer service and communication skills.
4. Familiarity with equipment and vehicle repair.
5. Experience supervising maintenance and operations work.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.

Job Description

The Investigator will participate in disciplinary investigations regarding Agency’s employees; perform
surveillance; gather and review evidence pertaining to disciplinary complaints and investigations;
conduct interviews; testify at disciplinary hearings; perform administrative tasks including the
preparation of transcriptions. In the course of investigations; the Investigator will prepare reports and
obtain documentation from all relevant governmental agencies; including NYS DMV and NYPD;
perform related duties.

Minimum Qual Requirements

1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time
experience in one or more of the fields of accounting, auditing, correction administration, criminal
justice administration and planning, forensic science, and security, or in a major operational area of
the agency in which the appointment is to be made; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college; or
3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above.

Preferred Skills

Preference will be given to candidates possessing a valid New York State Driver’s License and strong
computer skills.
