USING LIBRARY
1. LOCATION
a. Where is the library located?
-> The library found between HRM building found at NSTP room.
b. Are there other libraries aside from the main library? If so where are they
to be found?
-> None, no more library found. The main library is only classify, the High school
and Elementary library found at the first floor of the main library,2
nd
is the
College library which is found at the 2
nd
floor of the main library, and last are
the Internet library and the Masteral library found at the 3
rd
floor of the main
library.
2. What are the rules of the library?
LIBRARY POLICIES
1. Library Hours
7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Saturday)
2. Library Card
2.1 Every students needs a duly registered library card which should be
validated/counter signed for the current school team by the in charge
school librarian is order to be entitled to the use of library.
2.2 No student should use another library card. Violations hereof Subject
both parties to disciplinary action by the in charge school librarian.
Similarly, tampered LCs will be confiscated and the owner will be
acquired to secure a new copy.
2.3 Report loss library card immediately to the in charge school librarian
or any of the library aide.
2.4 When already filled up (secure a new one for free).
3. Entering and Leaving the library
3.1 Before entering the library, everyone is required to do the ff.
a. Leave at the deposit counter (when required in that section) ones
personal belongings except valuables (money, jewelry etc.) pen
and enough writing paper.
b. Always wear complete uniform.
c. Sign in the log book before and entering the library.
3.2 When living the library , everyone is required to:
a. Replace the chair properly under the table.
4. Borrowing and Returning books at the circulation.
4.1 Fill the book card and give both to the student librarian for counting
signing.
4.2 No one should pass borrowed books to other student. Neither should
a student study with another in one in the same book.
4.3 Returned borrowed books personally. Present your book to the
student librarian or in charge school librarian see to it that the book
card is withdrawn from the file , signed, slipped into the book pocket
and your card properly stamped with the date returned. Claim your
library card before leaving.
5. Reserved
5.1 If there is only one copy of the reserved book/textbook/it can not be
issued for overnight use.
5.2 Home use book are books found in the general collection, and
Filipiniana section, which are not designated as reserved books.
6. Limitation of loans
6.1 Each student may draw out only one book at the time (this rule does
not apply to the graduate school books)
7. General References
7.1 Reference book taken from the shelves must be properly registered at
the desk in this section whenever borrowed or returned.
7.2 Chart, pamphlets clippings are also available upon request at the
desk.
7.3 All materials in the general reference section are for room use only.
8. Fine Rates
8.1 The fines for the late returned of books are as follows:
a. Home-use books (overnight) 2 pesos per book/hour (excluding
non-school days). Masteral 8 pesos per hour.
8.2 Fines are to be paid to a student librarian.
9. Loss or Damage
9.1 A book which is lost or damaged must be paid for or replaced
immediately after the in charged school librarian has been modified at
the case.
9.2 So that the rights of others may be protected, readers who
underlined words, deface, marked, cut or otherwise mutilate a book
will be assessed the full cost involved in replacing the damaged book.
The damage book however, still remains the possession of the library.
9.3 Failure to settle these library obligations will deprive the student of
his library privileges until the library obligation are settled.
10. Examination Week
10.1 No under graduate student will be allowed to borrow books for
home use or overnight basis 2 weeks before the final exam.
10.2 No special permission will be honored after the last day of lending
out books.
11. Miscellaneous information
11.1 Courtesy demands observation of the following with in the library
premises:
a. No smoking and eating
b. Silence
c. No loitering and littering
A. When does it open and close?
Its open 7:30 am to 5:00 pm
B. Is it open every day of the week?
Yes
C. How may one take it book out; and what books may be taken out?
You may take two books; one Filipiniana and General collection
D. How many days could I keep a book loan on me?
Just one night and you must be returned before 9:00 am
E. Can i borrow a book on use the library without a borrowers card?
Yes
3. Aside from books, what other study aids does the library offer? Are there
special collection of photographs, tapes, slides, films, clippings, or disc?
-> Other study aids does the book we offer a magazine, disk, clippings and
newspaper.
4. Are there library assistance, or are we student or our own?
-> Yes, they are a library assistance
5. What is a library set-up?
a. Where are books found?
-> You found book at the Filipiniana, General Collection, General References
and Fiction.
b. How are they arranged?
-> By call number
c. Where are the periodicals; old and new?
-> The new periodicals are found in front the comfort room at the reading
area. And the old was found at the stock room at the stair.
d. What is card catalogue?
-> Card catalogue is an individual record in a library catalogue.
KINDS OF CARD CATALOGUE
a. Title Card -> contains the same information as the author card
except that the title of the book appears on the first line above the
authors name. The title cards are arranged in the catalogue
drawers alphabetically according to the first word of the title.
b. Author Card -> the author card is the main entry card.
c. Subject Card -> contains the same information as the author and
title cards. The only difference is that the subject with which the
book deals appears on the first line.
The Card Catalogue found at the corner at the high school library or
in basic library located at the first floor of the main library.
e. Where are the works of fiction found?
-> The fiction found beside the general collection section in college library
beside the comfort room.
6. What is Dewey or decimal System?
-> This system, Arabic numbers used to identify subjects. A certain number is
assigned to a subject and all books on that subject are mark with that numbers,
and stand together on the shelves in the library.
7. What is library of congress system?
-> The LCS uses letters of the alphabet instead of numbers. The letters I, O, W, X
and Y are excluded.
* Illustrate the differentiate LCS and Dewey or decimal system:
-> The difference of LCS is used a alphabet while the Dewey used a number.
