Purpose: Refer to this guide to modify the printer network settings at the printer Local User Interface
(UI) in step 2 or via the WebTools Setup in step 4, if required. For complete instructions refer to the
Fiery documentation.
Note: A Network Administrator is required to ensure that the printer is configured properly. To
properly configure the printer, the Network Administrator must supply an IP Address, a Subnet Mask,
and a Gateway Address if applicable (as well as a Cat 5 Ethernet drop cable). For complete
instructions to configure the printer on a Novell network refer the Novell web site and/or
documentation.
Procedure: This product was designed to connect to most networks with minimal changes. Connect
the printer to the network. Step 1 provides the machine default settings. Steps 2 5 provide
instructions on how to modify the machine settings and connect clients for printing.

Network Setup using the Control Panel
Auto IP (DHCP or BOOTP): No action required.
Static IP Configuration: Follow this procedure to make changes. If no changes are required,
continue on S St te ep p 3 3.
Local UI
1. Make sure the Fiery status displays Idle.
2. Press the Menu button on the Control Panel
3. Select the line selection button next to Run Setup
4. Select Network Setup.
5. Select Port Setup
6. Select Ethernet Setup and enter the appropriate settings.
7. Select Exit Port Setup and then select Protocol Setup
8. Enter the appropriate settings for the protocol(s) used.
9. Select Exit Protocol Setup and select Service Setup
10. Enter the appropriate settings for the services used.
11. Select Exit Service Setup, Select Exit Network Setup.
12. Select Yes to save changes and then select Exit Setup

AppleTalk
Mac OS9:
INSTALL: Double click the AdobePS installer file in the OS9: English Printer Driver folder on the
User Software CD. Follow the on-screen instructions, click Install, and restart workstation.
SETUP: Open Chooser, ensure that Appletalk is set to Active, select AdobePS icon, if the
network has zones then select a zone in which the Fiery is located, select a Fiery connection
(within the Select a PostScript Printer list), and select Create. If needed, select the appropriate
printer description file for your copier and then click Select. In the Installable Options dialog box,
select the settings that reflect the configuration of the copier. Select OK twice and close the
Chooser.

Mac OS X
INSTALL: Ensure that the Printer Setup Utility is not running. Double click the OSX installer file
in the OSX: Printer Driver folder on the User Software CD, follow the on-screen instructions and
select Quit.
SETUP: Start the Printer Setup Utility, click Add, and choose Appletalk or IP printing from the
menu. Select the AppleTalk Zone and the name of the Fiery. For Printer Model, select the
appropriate manufacturer (or select Other), select the file for the Fiery PPD and select Add.
CONFIGURE: At the Printer Setup Utility, select the Printer, and select Show Info from the
Printers menu. Select Installable Options, select the appropriate settings, select Apply Changes
and close the windows.

You must configure TCP/IP on the Fiery and on all computers that use SMB.
Network Printer: browse the Network for the printer (refer to the Configuration Page, Service
Setup for the server name and workgroup).
Client Server: browse the network for the server/queue.
Print Queue: Direct, Hold, or Print

Print a System Settings List
Local UI
1. Press the Machine Status button.
2. Touch the Billing Meter/Print Report tab on the touch screen.
3. Touch the Print Report/List option, and then the Network Controller Jobs Report option.
4. Select the System Setting List option
5. Press the Start button to print the System Settings list (Configuration page).
6. Press Close and select Copy Mode Settings.
7. Select Settings List Common Items and press Start.
8. Press Close twice to return to Copy Mode.
9. Refer to your printed Settings Lists data and Configuration Page (sample on page
opposite).

Network Configuration using WebTools
A PC client connected to the network is required to complete the printer network setup. Follow
this procedure to make any other changes to the printer configuration. Changes require a
System Administration password.
1. Open a Web browser (Internet Explorer).
2. In the I.E. browsers Properties, Connections, LAN Settings, verify that Proxy Servers are
being bypassed for local Web addresses.
3. Type the printers TCP/IP Address (Settings List) in the URL window.
4. WebTools appears.
5. Select WebSetup.
Note: A pop-up window automatically comes up on the Web interface with the steps to
configure the Web browser Java security settings.
6. Select Server Setup and make any required changes.
7. Select Network Setup and make any required changes.
8. Select Printer Setup and make any required changes.
9. Save your changes (Reboot Server).
10. Select YES to reboot the controller to save changes and Power on/off the machine
manually to re-establish communication and complete the process.
