The Niton

XL3t 500/600 x-ray tube-based x-ray fuorescence (XRF)

analyzer with GOLDD technology is purpose-built for your most
demanding applications. This revolutionary instrument is engineered for
high performance, reliability, and ease of use, providing further evidence of
our leadership through excellence in innovation. The chart below details the
sensitivity, or limits of detection (LOD) in ppm (mg/kg) of the Niton XL3t
with GOLDD technology analyzer, specifed for SiO
2
matrix, SiO
2
matrix
with 10% iron, and a typical Standard Reference Material (SRM). With
a 50 kV miniature x-ray tube, GOLDD technology, and multiple primary
flters the most versatile confguration ever offered in handheld XRF
instruments the Niton XL3t lowers the detection limits for trace elements
to a level never before seen with a portable XRF analyzer.
Thermo Scientic Niton XL3t 500/600 with GOLDD Technology
Elemental Limits of Detection in Environmental/Mining Type Samples
Limits of detection (LODs) are
dependent on the following factors:
Testing time
Interferences/Matrix
Level of statistical confdence
Please Note:
Ongoing research and advancements
in our Niton XL3t with GOLDD
technology analyzers will lead to
continual improvement in many of the
values detailed in this chart. Contact
a Thermo Fisher Scientic ofce, or
your local Thermo Scientic Niton
product representatives for the latest
performance specications. Though
great care has been taken to present
true data that can be repeated in
the real world, it is worth noting
LODs can vary signifcantly when the
presence of constituent elements in a
sample uctuate.
For applications that require
sensitivities close to those listed, it
is recommended that samples be
analyzed as a feasibility study on-site
with a company representative.
