1.0 Introduction
The Telecor Model ACP-M Control Panel enables the user to readily transmit intercom calls to any
selected intercom station, or to initiate All-Call announcements to all speakers and intercom stations
in the system. The communications channel is colour coded as 1) yellow-"Intercom", and 2) gray-
"Off". At just a glance of the colour system, one can make the desired selection and complete the
call without technical error.
Two-way speaker communication using the ACP-M is carried out as follows: The operator must
place the appropriate intercom station switch on the Control Panel to the yellow Intercom position,
and operate the Talk/Listen switch to establish voice communications. This switch should be used
during conversation as required. The party at the intercom station does not need to control any
device during conversation (hands-free.) Audio to and from the Control Panel will be transmitted
over the intercom station loudspeaker (open voice communications.)
To initiate a call from the intercom station to the Control Panel, the party at the intercom station
must press the call button. The operator will be alerted to the incoming call by both a tone signal
on the Control Panel speaker, and by the illumination of the respective LED on the Selector Panel.
Emergency All-Call announcements to all intercom station speakers are initiated by pressing the red
"All-Call" pushbutton and speaking directly into the Panel Speaker.
The Control Panel comes equipped with a station privacy feature which sounds a pre-announce tone
at the intercom station prior to any incoming voice communications. This prevents unauthorized
monitoring of intercom stations from the Control Panel.

2.0 Installation
2.1 Unpacking
Inspect the shipping container and unit for indications of improper handling. The unit has been
checked before leaving the factory. If any damage is apparent, make an immediate claim to the
Dealer or Distributor from whom it was purchased.
2.2 Power Supply
Power to the ACP-M is provided by the PS-2808 power supply. This unit provides the 28 VDC and
8 VDC required for the Control Panel and associated Selector Panels.
Wiring connections are outlined in the block diagrams S-N29-A and S-N29-E. AWG 20 cable
should be used for the 28 VDC and 8 VDC connections. Connections for the 28 VDC supply are
made at the "+24 VDC" and "COM" (Terminals 43 & 46). For the 8 VDC supply, connections are
made at the "+8VDC" and "-8VDC" (Terminals 57 & 58), at the rear of the ACP-M.
2.3 Connections for All-Call Paging
AMP IN: (Terminals 4 & 5 "AMP A IN") The output of the Program "A" power amplifier
is connected to these two terminals. A balanced 25V output configuration should be used.
When choosing an amplifier, be sure to calculate the proper power rating for the given
speaker load conditions. Remember that this amplifier should be capable of distributing
paging announcements to all of the speakers in the system. The input signal to the amplifier
is obtained from the "PROG OUT" terminals (60 and 61.) Be sure to observe correct polarity
(Terminals 60 "COM" and 61 "H".)
2.4 Connection to the SB101-25 / SB102-25
Off Bus: Terminals 12 "OFF" and 13 "OFF" provide connections to the "OFF" audio bus
on the selector panel. This particular bus is utilized for Emergency paging announcements.
Intercom: Terminals 66 "INTERCOM" and 67 "INTERCOM" provide connections to the
intercom audio bus on the Selector Panel.
Common: A 22 AWG wire is required between the COM (Terminal 47) on the ACP-M,
and the "COM" termination pin on the Selector Panel.
8VDC: (Terminals 57 "-8VDC" and 58 "+8VDC") The Selector Panel requires this power
source to operate the LED Call Annunciators. Connect the "-" terminal on the SB101-25 /
SB102-25 to "-8VDC" (Terminal 57) on the ACP-M, and the "+" terminal on the SB101-25
/ SB102-25 to "ANN" (Terminal 59) on the ACP-M.

2.5 Connection to the RSB103-25
Connect the "-" terminal on the RSB103-25
to "-8VDC" (Terminal 57) on the ACP-M, and the "+" terminal on the RSB103-25 to "ANN"
(Terminal 59) on the ACP-M.
Monitor Bus: In addition to the Intercom and Off Bus, the RSB103-25 contains a Monitor
Bus. This bus enables a second ACP-M to be connected to the system, for the purpose of
aurally monitoring selected intercom stations or speakers. The monitor terminals on the
RSB103-25 connect to Terminals 66 "INTERCOM" and 67 "INTERCOM" on the second
ACP-M.
2.6 Ancillary Function Connections
Clock Tone: (Terminals 28 "C" and 29 "CLOCK TONE") The ACP-M contains a built-in
single tone generator which may be used to send a tone to all speakers. A dry contact closure
between Terminals 28 and 29 will initiate the tone for the duration of the closure. Most
master clocks contain a set of contacts for this purpose. The tone is automatically distributed
via the OFF bus.

3.0 Operation
3.1 Front Panel Controls
The "All-Call" pushbutton transmits an emergency page to all the local speakers.
The "Press to Talk" (Intercom) pushbutton is used to control the direction of speech when using the
yellow Intercom Channel for individual speaker communications. The pushbutton is pressed to
"Talk" and released to "Listen". Classrooms are selected on an individual basis via the SB101-25
/ SB102-25 Selector Panel.
The "Listen Volume" controls the volume at the Control Panel speaker of incoming audio level from
individual intercom stations, for two-way intercom communications.
3.2 Adjustments
Two controls are accessible from the rear chassis for adjustment:
"Talk" adjusts the outgoing level to classrooms for two-way Intercom communications only.
To increase the level, turn the control clockwise when facing the rear of the chassis.
"Offset" is set to balance the Intercom lines to ground. If the lines are found to be noisy, this
control may require adjustment
The above controls have been factory set. If field adjustments are required, have an assistant
originate a call from a speaker station and adjust these levels until a comfortable listening level is
achieved.
3.3 Internal Factory Settings
There are several pots located on the ACP-M board which are factory set. These should not be
adjusted unless a problem becomes apparent in the field. Listed below are the various controls and
their functions:
Tone Level (P4): Sets the level of the Annunciator, Privacy and Clock Tones. To increase
the level, turn the pot counter clockwise.
Emergency Vol (P14): Sets the gain of the emergency page pre-amplification. To
increase the level, turn the pot clockwise.
Supervisory / Pre-announce Tone: The ACP-M has a built-in Supervisory Tone. This
tone is activated at regular intervals during an Intercom conversation. If it is not desired,
remove jumpers JP11 and JP12.
