The University follows credit based semester system and to assure teaching a strong feedback system is in place. A continuous evaluation system based on
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) worked out on a 10-points scale. Students are regularly evaluated based on quizzes, tests, assignments, seminars
etc. and at the end of the term, an end term examination is conducted for each course. Student is awarded a grade based on the total marks scored in each
evaluation component. Grades are awarded based on relative grading system. Each grade is assigned a grade point and based on the credits assigned to
various courses the Semester Grade Point Average(SGPA) is calculated. The CGPA of a student is calculated based on the credits earned and the SGPA
obtained in each semester. A student is required to earn minimum specified credits for being eligible for the award of a degree. The student is also provided
another opportunity to improve the grade in a course by registering again for the same course.

Engineering Relevance
Today, technology is growing at a rapid pace. In the coming future there is bound to be huge demand for competent engineers in industry to cope this demand in
technology. These engineers would be involved in creating and sustaining cutting edge technology to stay ahead in competition.
CIVIL ENGINEERING
Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built
environment, including works such as bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings. Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after military engineering,
and it was defined to distinguish it from military engineering. It is traditionally divided into several sub-disciplines including environmental
33
34
engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, coastal
engineering, surveying, and construction engineering. Civil engineering takes place on all levels: in the public sector from municipal through to federal levels,
and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.
Opportunities exist in the public and private sectors in large numbers in all branches of design, construction and maintenance, infrastructure development in both
India and abroad. Right now constructions industry is booming as there is growth in infrastructure requirement throughout the country. This is going to stay for
next few decades. Scope of civil engineers lies with many developing countries in Middle East, Africa, and Asia where infrastructure development is picking up
and Indian engineers are in great demand.
Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering finds application in all fields of technology. It is one of the primitive branches of Engineering which have remained always in demand
and continue to be in the future. This is why Mechanical trade is called as an Evergreen trade (branch). Mechanical engineers have always been needed as
essential staff personnel in various industries of both public and private sector. Their work criteria changes according to the type and domain of the company they
are working with.As the Industrial sector has drastically risen in pace, the need for more mechanical engineers has increased exponentially. Every manufacturing
and production industry needs mechanical engineers to carry out jobs efficiently and flawlessly for their companies
It has a tremendous scope in cement industry, steel, power sector, Hydraulics, Manufacturing plants, Drilling and mining Industry, Petroleum, Aeronautical,
Biotechnology and many more. With its wide scope of application, mechanical engineers remain always in demand, no matter which part of the world. You can
also find job very easily in the following public sector industries such as Indian Railways, Indian Air force (Technical), Indian Army, Thermal power corporations
to name a few.
Automobile Engineeeing
The automobile sector is increasing day by day due to which we need large number of automobile engineers. Many foreign car companies are competing with
one another to setup their firm in India. The need for the car is increasing geometrically, apart from Indian car company Tata motors other foreign companies like
Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Nissan, Chevrolet, BMW and many more are earning huge money from Indian market. From a curreent turnover of $73 billion the
automobile industry is expected to touch a level of $145 billion. The automobile engineers not only find placement in the growing auto industries but also from a
large auto ancillary industry
