Employee Code of Conduct

To ensure orderly operations and to provide the best possible work environment, Gilligan Oil
Company/GOC Franchise expects employees to follow a code of conduct that will protect the
interests and safety of all employees and the organization.

It is not possible to list all the forms of behavior that are considered unacceptable in the
workplace. The following are examples of violations of the code of conduct that may result in
disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. In addition, Gilligan Oil
Company/GOC Franchise may reduce the hourly wage to State Minimum wage on your
final paycheck upon termination of employment or if two weeks advance notice is not
given upon resignation. Your manager will be responsible for determining if a behavior is
inappropriate or unacceptable.

 Violation of Cash Drawer Policy including cash shortages and incorrect paperwork.
 Any violation of the Alcohol/Tobacco Policy including failure to request identification.
 Theft or unauthorized removal or possession of company product, property or assets.
 Falsification of timekeeping records, employment application, or other company documents.
 Working under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
 Possession, distribution, sale, transfer or use of alcohol or illegal drugs in the workplace, while
on duty, or while operating employer-owned vehicles or equipment.
 Fighting or threatening violence in the workplace with employees or customers.
 Boisterous or disruptive activity in the workplace; use of profanity in the workplace.
 Negligence or improper conduct leading to damage of employer-owned or customer-owned
property; including the improper use of credit cards.
 Insubordination or other disrespectful conduct towards fellow employees or customers.
 Violation of health or safety rules including unauthorized visitors in the workplace or not
following proper procedures for safety.
 Smoking in prohibited areas.
 Sexual or unlawful & unwelcome harassment or failure to report any type of harassment.
 Possession of dangerous or unauthorized materials, such as explosives or firearms, in the
workplace.
 No cell phones or hands-free devices are acceptable while working.
 Excessive absenteeism or tardiness; any absence without notice.
 Unauthorized absence from work station during your scheduled shift.
 Unauthorized use of telephones, computers, or other company owned equipment.
 Unauthorized disclosure of business “secrets” or confidential information.
 Failure to follow the dress code and uniform guidelines.
 Failure to return company property upon termination of employment including uniforms.
 Unsatisfactory performance or unacceptable conduct as outlined in the Gilligan Oil
Company/GOC Franchise Employee Handbook.
 Violation of company policies as outlined in the Gilligan Oil Company/GOC Franchise
Employee Handbook or Gilligan Oil Company/GOC Franchise Operations Manual.
