Assignments from Neale for Session 1
1. Start a personal journal. In this journal, keep a record of all youre experiencing in this course, including
the reactions of your Panel of Helpers when you ask them for specic reactions about the material.
2. Identify at least three people in your life who can be your Panel of Helpers as you move through
this 9-week course. These can be friends, spouses, siblings, relatives or anyone with whom youre
comfortable sharing your insights from this journey. Ask these Helpers if they would be willing to
engage with you once a week or so about your insights, observations, and breakthroughs with
regard to the concepts youll be learning in this course.
3. Which three people have you chosen? Ask each member of your Panel of Helpers if they would be
willing to respond to the following questions:
a. Do you believe you have a soul?
b. If you do, what do you imagine is the purpose of the soul?
c. What is your idea about the place of the soul in the conduct of human afairs?
d. If you believe you have a soul, and that I have a soul, do you think it is possible for our two souls
to communicate at a level that transcends physicality? Do you believe that our souls have the
ability to communicate in the same way with God?
Take careful note of the answers you hear, and maybe even keep a written record of them.
4. After hearing from all three members of your Panel of Helpers about how theyre experiencing
their lives and their souls, decide how you wish to experience your soul and your God. Write that
reection in your journal.
5. Write a short, three-paragraph essay in your journal on what you now know to be true about your
soul, and what you now choose to experience in your life regarding your connection with the Divine,
and regarding the whole purpose of your existence.
