This policy applies to all employees and units of the University. Student
postings that may be a potential violation of the Student Code of Conduct
will be referred to the Ofce of Community Standards and Student Conduct
for appropriate review and discipline.

material posted to their sites. Social media site users should be
familiar with the Terms of Service and respect general copyright and
Fair Use policies.

- The GU Foundation is the only agency authoriDed to see gift support
using the universityEs name. Consistent with university policy regarding
fundraising% all solicitations% by any method% including through any
social media sites% must be coordinated with and approved by the GU
Foundation through the GU development ofce.

- 1ivisions% colleges or departments launching social media pro:les or
developing mobile applications must notify the universityEs Social
.edia Specialist in advance of :naliDation#deployment of any new
social media pro:le or mobile application. The 1epartment of
Communications F .areting has posted additional guidelines for
university,related social media pro:les and applications on its website
at www.GU.edu#mareting#socialmedia#guidelines. The 1epartment of
Communications F .areting maintains a comprehensive database
and inventory of all university,related social media pro:les and mobile
applications.
- 1evelop a strategic plan for each social media pro:le#page. Contact
the Social .edia Specialist in Communications and .areting if
assistance is needed.
