Cooking oil is one of the staple commodities which are quite important for the
people of Indonesia because almost all cuisines and types of foods in our country
requires cooking oilas one of the ingredients needed to cook everything. In general
people using cooking oil for cooking. The use of cooking oil at the end of these days
often cause problemsm they are: (1) The availability of less -balanced needs, causing
prices to rise high enough, (2) The existence public awareness to reduce the
consumption of foods that contain fat that allegedly would adversely affect health; (3)
The awareness of using the products repeatedly; (4) Consumption of saturated fat oils
primarily considered a potential cause of the increase in coronary heart disease, cancer,
diabetes, and high blood pressure. The problem also comes from waste cooking oil
which derived from household waste. In fact, waste cooking oil without any specific
treatment may be harmful especially if the cooking oil waste discharged into
waterways. To solve those problems, we would like to develop a non oil fried medium
to overcome the consumer's problems at this time. Our product named Pasir Dapur

Main material of our produt is silica sand granule and Sodium CMC as binder. Our
product can reduce the fat consumption in food, it can be used repeatedly and no harm
for our body.

2. There are many existing frying mediums with ability to cook easily and make
foods tastier, but most of the existing frying mediums are not healthy. They have
some contents which are dangerous for health such as high amount of either
saturated or unsaturated fat and some new compound formed during frying like
acrylamide which is carcinogenic. Besides, they are easily oxidised thus cannot be
used repeatedly;
3. The five main things to improve in our non oil frying medium product needed by
consumers are: (a) zero fat concentration; (b) zero turbidity and rancidity; (c)
lower price; (d) distributed in many retails; (e) practical.
4. The goal of this chemical product design is to make a non oil fried medium which
has low side effect, better performance, affordable price, easy to be used and
5. For our new concept of non oil fried medium product, we use natural raw material
for main ingredient. The ingredient is silica sand in form of granule with
conduction heat mechanism.

medium non oil is very promising and can compete with other fried medium
already on the market.

medium products: ease of using, affordable price, better performance, and low
side effect.
9. The production capacity of our product is 235 ton per year, which means we will
produce 700 packages in a day with 1 kg in each package.
10. There are 7 main process to produce Pasir Dapur product. They are washing,
mixing, drying, sintering, cooling, polishing, and packaging.
11. The energy needed to produce Pasir Dapur product is 41,9 kWh

16. The selling price of our product will be Rp 39.000,- per package. The biggest
portion of unit cost based on cost breakdown is for labor cost with IRR 22%, ROI
28%, payback period 3,53 years, NPV Rp. 8.158.700.431,- which show that the
development of our product is highly attractive to investors.
17. Based on the plant layout, our plant can be divided into six main areas: raw
material storage room, empty package storage room, production room, packaging
room, product storage room, and waste treatment area. The area that is needed
more concern in health and safety is the production area.
